CHAPTER 31: CHAPTER 31: THE PATIENT’S CONDITION IS NOT VERY GOOD

Gu Yan vigorously wiped the tables and chairs, as if treating them all like Tang Yuxiu, wishing she could scrape off a layer of skin.

Gu Yan heard nothing else but this sentence.

Gu Yan quickly hung up the phone, packed her backpack, and didn’t forget to ask Tang Yuxiu for leave.

Tang Yuxiu frowned slightly.

The hometown was only four hours away from Jiang City; she arrived there by around 8 PM.

Gu Yan went straight to the town hospital.

In the ward, Mrs. Gu and her younger uncle’s family were present. Seeing her arrival, Mrs. Gu hurriedly pushed through the crowd to reach her, tightly gripping her arms.

"Gu Yan, quickly handle your dad’s transfer to the hospital in Jiang City!"

"Mom, calm down first. I’ll go find the doctor now. If they agree to the transfer, we’ll go immediately."

"Okay, okay, you go fast!" Mrs. Gu said, pushing her out.

Gu Yan turned to glance at her father on the bed but didn’t have time.

Although Mrs. Gu often mocked and disliked her, she was genuinely raised by Gu’s father.

Gu’s father was honest and never refuted Mrs. Gu, silently bearing everything, yet was the only pillar of the family.

When Gu Yan was little and was beaten, scolded, and mistreated without food by Mrs. Gu, it was Gu’s father who secretly fed her.

During school days, when her living expenses were insufficient or when she needed something, it was Gu’s father who took out his private savings for her use.

Mrs. Gu never knew about these things.

Over the years, Gu Yan has supported the Gu Family unconditionally, largely for her father’s sake, so he could have an easier life and suffer less.

She was very grateful to her father and truly considered him as family.
