CHAPTER 65: CHAPTER 65: THIS MONEY IS COMPLETELY LEGITIMATE
Gu Yan suddenly remembered her own injury, raised her hand to touch it, and felt a sharp pain.
Xiang Linghao hurriedly stopped her, "Don’t touch it directly, it might get infected. Come with me, I’ll clean it for you."
Gu Yan initially wanted to refuse, but then she thought about going back to see Gu’s father with the injury still there and felt it wasn’t right, so she nodded in agreement.
"Thank you."
"It’s what I should do as a doctor."
After Gu Yan treated her wound, she went to find Gu’s father’s attending physician. The doctor saw the bandage on her forehead and asked with concern, "How did you get hurt?"
"I accidentally bumped into something." Gu Yan smiled faintly.
The doctor didn’t press further and switched to the topic of Gu’s father, "Yesterday, I did a full body check-up on your father. He’s currently stable, so it’s best to have the surgery tomorrow. How about that?"
"No problem. Please proceed."
"Alright." The doctor nodded and continued, "You know the surgery costs a million, initially the hospitalization fees were separate, but after discussing it with our director and the hospital’s doctors, we decided to waive the hospitalization fees for you, though the surgery cost of one million remains."
Gu Yan’s eyes lit up upon hearing this, "Thank you doctor, thank you all, I’ve gathered the surgery cost already, thank you for waiving the hospitalization fees!"
She originally thought of borrowing a bit from Xue Xianglan after paying the surgery fee to cover the hospitalization fees, but now that the hospital waived it, she didn’t have to trouble Xue Xianglan.
"No need to thank us, just go pay the surgery fee since you have it, and the surgery will be at nine tomorrow morning."
"Okay, thank you doctor, thank you." Gu Yan repeatedly thanked and exited the doctor’s office.
The doctor sighed slightly. Last time he saw this girl, there was a slap mark on her face, and now her forehead was injured. What a pity.
Gu Yan returned to the ward, Gu’s father was resting with his eyes closed, while Mrs. Gu was idly sitting by.
Seeing Gu Yan come in, Mrs. Gu habitually glared at her, but this time she held her tongue.
Gu Yan ignored her; she was happy that there were no sarcastic remarks this time.
Gu’s father opened his eyes, Gu Yan approached and softly said, "Dad, the surgery is scheduled for nine tomorrow morning. You should rest well today."
Gu’s father frowned, "Gu Yan, where did you get so much money?"
He knew, that was a million! How could Gu Yan, an ordinary worker, have that much?
"Dad, you don’t need to worry about that. As long as you can have the surgery, the cost is not a problem."
"Gu Yan, be honest with me, it’s not that your mom—no, your Aunt Gu forced you to use improper ways to raise the money, right?" Gu’s father said as he gave Mrs. Gu a dissatisfied look.
Mrs. Gu widened her eyes and sharply retorted, "If I had that ability, would I be sitting here?"
Gu Yan explained, "It has nothing to do with her this time. I found a way myself."
"Hmph, you heard that, stop throwing mud at me for everything." Mrs. Gu folded her arms, "Since you have the money, why keep it under wraps? Who knows what you’re thinking."
Gu’s father didn’t pay attention to Mrs. Gu and looked at Gu Yan, "How exactly did you get it?"
"Dad, I told you not to worry. Just take care of your health. The money is legitimately earned, so just focus on the surgery tomorrow."
Seeing Gu Yan’s certainty, even though Gu’s father had doubts, he did not pursue the matter further.
Gu Yan had long since grown up, handling many things with her own discretion, never needing him to worry much.
He ought to trust her.
