CHAPTER 83: CHAPTER 83: SPEAK UP IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY

Gu Yan stood at the back and took a look. She didn’t know Nie Rong. If she sat next to her, it would definitely be awkward, so she hesitantly walked over and sat next to Tang Yuxiu, opposite Nie Rong.

Across from her, Nie Rong, who had been maintaining a gentle smile, visibly froze when she saw Gu Yan sit down.

"And this lady is?" Nie Rong asked stiffly, looking at Tang Yuxiu.

It was only now that Gu Yan realized that apparently, this girl hadn’t noticed her at all from the start. Or perhaps she had seen her but chose to ignore her.

Did she really have such a weak presence? Or did she really not seem like someone who could stand next to Tang Yuxiu?

Gu Yan felt defeated again.

Her impression of the girl opposite her plummeted instantly. No matter how pretty and gentle she appeared, in the end, she was still an arrogant rich girl.

Nothing like Xue Xianglan.

Xue Xianglan was the only rich person she liked.

"I..." Gu Yan was about to introduce herself when Tang Yuxiu interrupted indifferently.

"An unimportant person."

"You..." Gu Yan took a deep breath and held back.

She really was an unimportant person. She couldn’t possibly tell people, "This is my kept lover."

Although rich people indulged in such things, they kept it under wraps. Who would put it out in the open?

Tang Yuxiu wasn’t stupid.

Gu Yan forced a smile and gave an awkward smile to Nie Rong.

Nie Rong nodded slightly, "Hello, I’m Nie Rong. I’m sorry for not noticing you earlier."

Gu Yan thought to herself there wasn’t a hint of embarrassment in her words.

She shook her head, "It’s fine, just call me Gu Yan."

The waiter came over and handed each of the three a menu. Gu Yan was the first to order foie gras with a glass of orange juice.

"Miss Gu, foie gras pairs better with red wine."

For some reason, Gu Yan felt there was a hint of sarcasm in Nie Rong’s words.

"I don’t drink alcohol, I just like orange juice." She said with a smile as she handed the menu back to the waiter.

Tang Yuxiu ordered a medium-rare steak and a latte.

Gu Yan couldn’t help but mumble, "Drinking coffee at night, aren’t you afraid of not being able to sleep?"

Tang Yuxiu glanced at her, "If you have something to say, say it out loud."

Gu Yan was mildly startled, turned her head to glare at him, then quickly withdrew her gaze as if nothing had happened.

Tang Yuxiu let out a faint hum.

Nie Rong watched them awkwardly from across the table and quickly placed her order.

It was a medium steak and a cappuccino.

Gu Yan thought to herself, do rich people like to have coffee with their dinner, affecting their sleep quality? She couldn’t understand.

The food arrived quickly, and Gu Yan focused on her meal in silence.

Occasionally, Nie Rong would chat with Tang Yuxiu, to which Tang Yuxiu would respond indifferently.

After finishing her meal, Gu Yan sipped her orange juice absentmindedly.

Tang Yuxiu set down his knife and fork, elegantly sipped his coffee, then picked up a napkin to wipe his mouth and glanced at Gu Yan, "Are you full?"

"Full." Gu Yan nodded quickly.

He acknowledged her and turned his gaze to Nie Rong across from him, "Miss Nie probably needs a little more time. I have some work to attend to, so I won’t stay. Consider this my treat, Miss Nie."

After saying that, Tang Yuxiu gracefully stood up, nodded slightly in apology, and then glanced at Gu Yan, "Let’s go."

Before Nie Rong could even say a word, Tang Yuxiu had left his seat and walked away without a backward glance.
