Mogiana raised the Potion Chalice in her hand.
Within the Potion Chalice, energy surged. The stored Magic Wind energy was unleashed by the Lake God Witch, thunder rumbled within the clouds, and Mogiana softly chanted a Magic Spell, guiding the power of lightning.
"Ahhh!" The male peasant, appearing to be around thirty years old, was terrified, falling onto the ground and scrambling backward, faced with over a dozen zombies and several ghouls.
Zombies are the lowest rank of undead, resurrected immediately after death. These undead have lost all consciousness, even their instincts, knowing only to attack enemies under the control of an Undead Mage or Vampire Leader. These corpses' eyes glowed with a blue soul fire, stepping closer to the peasant one step at a time.
"Help~ Help!" The peasant cried out miserably. Meanwhile, the spell of the Lake God Prophet had finished chanting. Raising his hand, the Lake God Prophet called out: "Thorn Shield!"
From the snow-covered ground, dense thorny plants sprang up, separating the peasant from the zombies. The zombies were blocked by the thorns, the sharp thorns piercing their decayed bodies with no effect. The zombies, trapped by the thorns, found their claws and teeth insufficiently sharp, vainly struggling to break free.
Ghouls are much stronger than zombies. Their sharp claws can tear through the thorns. Within seconds, some of the thorns were torn apart, and the peasant scrambled to his feet, attempting to flee for his life once more.
"Yurino Lightning Arrow!" At that moment, Mogiana finally completed the casting of the lightning arrow. Light blue magic energy parted the thick clouds, and from the sky above, a powerful lightning ball split the clouds, crashing into the midst of the zombies and ghouls, the exploding lightning blasting them into a bloody mess, turning to ash.
Some crafty ghouls hid behind the zombies and narrowly escaped death. Upon seeing Mogiana's appearance, they quickly retreated, racing into a small grove and disappearing.
The remaining zombies disintegrated almost simultaneously, turning into actual corpses and chunks of flesh.
Mogiana squinted her eyes, certain that there must be a Vampire or Undead Mage controlling these zombies nearby! Witnessing her arrival, it must have immediately severed its control to evade detection.
Her golden eyebrows furrowed, Mogiana pondered whether Vampire Corruption was this severe in the Borelion Duchy. Undead creatures could be seen blatantly near the village in broad daylight?
"Ahhh~ Saved~" The male peasant rolled around the ground a few times before scrambling to his feet, appearing on the verge of wetting his pants in fear, with expressions of narrowly escaping death visible on his face. Upon seeing Mogiana's icy expression, he immediately crawled towards her on his knees: "Her Highness the Lake Witch... Her Highness the Lake Witch..."
"Clang!" A sharp sword drew from its sheath, a slightly glowing rune sword grasped in Mogiana's hand, and the Lake God Witch sternly said: "Enough! Stay there and don't come closer to me!"
"Yes, yes!" The peasant hurriedly halted, intending to speak further, when Mogiana suddenly heard the sound of footsteps behind her along with Lake God Prophet Clement's exclamation: "Your Highness Mogiana, behind you!"
A Terror Wolf with fiery blue eyes charged at Mogiana with incredible speed. It let out a roar, forcefully propelled by its hind legs, thrusting towards Mogiana's back. The stench and nauseating saliva sprayed from its gaping maw.
Mogiana's eyes narrowed, showing no sign of panic. She gripped the hilt of her rune sword tightly with her right hand, thrusting the sharp blade into the Terror Wolf's gaping maw and then stabbing through its body.
A bloody mess ensued, as the Terror Wolf was gutted by Mogiana's sharp sword, intestines and blood scattered around. Under the protection of the Golden Waistband, the revolting blood and bodily fluids were blocked by the shield, unable to reach Mogiana's body.
"Your Highness Mogiana? Are you all right?" Lake God Prophet promptly rode over to Mogiana's side.
"I'm fine…" Mogiana's strikingly beautiful face was all seriousness, as she examined the corpse of the Terror Wolf: "Just a despicable attacker."
Then, the Lake God Witch refocused on the peasant in front of her. It seemed like he was being chased by Vampire creatures. Mogiana's Mirror told her that the peasant bore the nauseating stench of Vampires and traces of Undead Magic: "Are you a villager nearby?"
"Yes, I am a villager from nearby Feuerbach, my name is Allen." The peasant knelt and kowtowed: "Thank you so much, Your Highness, you saved my life!"
"Feuerbach…" Mogiana and Clement exchanged a glance, for that was the village they were heading to, where the prophesied girl resided: "Are you a resident there? How are things in Feuerbach now?"
"Not good, Your Highness. Ever since the ongoing wars, the population in the town has sharply declined, from around three to five hundred to perhaps not even two hundred now." The peasant repeatedly kowtowed: "This year, Master Knight is collecting taxes again, and we can hardly survive. So, I thought of entering the woods to see if I could find something to eat, only to encounter the undead. Ah, if it weren't for your salvation, I would surely be dead. My home only has some rye and bran remaining…"
