Warhammer: Lord of the Endless Monster Horde
Chapter 346: Warhammer: Lord of the Endless Monster Horde [345]
"So it's you, my old defeated foe! You dare seek revenge?" Yvraine smiled.
She remembered him well. When the Ynnari was newly formed and retrieving the Crone Sword from the Webway, they ran into him.
A brutal fight ensued. Most of her Ynnari members were nearly wiped out.
Ahriman's combat power was terrifying, among the top Chaos Champions, an ancient monster over ten thousand years old who'd participated in the Great Crusade.
His psychic power rivaled the Eldar's top Farseers. The newly formed Ynnari suffered heavy losses—only by unleashing Gamora and Melba did they barely fight him to a draw.
Ahriman was curious about the two monsters, but against such titans, he didn't dare go head-to-head, instead attacking from afar with psychic spells.
In that battle, Yvraine used her Death God power to revive some empty Rubric Marines—a fake resurrection to distract him. She then used the warp currents to toss them away, helping the Ynnari escape, later meeting Rhodes on Glacia.
"Evil witch, you used that mysterious sorcery to resurrect my brothers from ten millennia ago. Now hand over that spell, or I'll capture you and rip it from your mind!" Ahriman said.
"Oh, you want to fight me here? This is Space Wolves' turf. I hear they don't like your Thousand Sons much!" Yvraine taunted.
"That's none of your business. The Space Wolves are too busy to care right now." Ahriman snorted.
He'd arranged for several Chaos Sorcerers to open warp rifts on Fenris, unleashing hordes of lesser daemons to distract the Space Wolves.
"And I heard your Primarch returned to the Imperium and abandoned you fatherless kids. Are you playing Find Daddy?" Yvraine poured salt in the wound.
This infuriated not just Ahriman but his warband—most were ex-Thousand Sons. The recent Magnus drama made them all feel abandoned.
"Seems you want to be tortured before you die. I'll rip out your soul and feed it to Slaanesh." Ahriman threatened.
For Eldar, being devoured by Slaanesh was the ultimate horror.
"Haha! So you found a new patron. Lost your daddy and went to Slaanesh for a new one? I hear there's a daemon prince called Furry, Furdog?" Yvraine mocked.
She didn't take the Thousand Sons or Ahriman seriously.
Maybe before, she feared one of the galaxy's top psykers, but now? They weren't in the same league.
Mortals couldn't imagine a Super Lifeform's power. Her soul had been strengthened by the Cosmic Phantom Beast. Her Death God and psychic power were now beyond mortal understanding.
"We should torture this Eldar woman and kill all the Eldar here, offering their souls to Slaanesh!" said a warband member.
Some Eldar were already rushing over.
Ahriman snorted, and with his Chaos Sorcerers, cast a psychic spell. Blue light enveloped Yvraine, teleporting her off the Space Wolves' planet.
At her current power, Yvraine could have blocked it easily, but Rhodes and the Goddess of Life had placed restrictions on her. Plus, this jerk called her a witch! Did she look like a witch? She was in a foul mood.
She decided to vent her anger on them, even subtly sabotaging the teleport. Ahriman had meant to send her to a remote area.
"Don't follow. Let me relax and play with them a bit. I'll be back soon." Yvraine sent a psychic message to the Ynnari members and some Farseers rushing over.
Ahriman and his warband, plus several Chaos Sorcerers, planned to kill her and escape into the warp—but a powerful psychic force hijacked the spell.
They ended up on a dead planet a few astronomical units from Fenris.
No gravity, no atmosphere, no weather—just a barren rock.
Some warband members gasped for air and quickly donned their masks, wary of Yvraine. These Chaos Sorcerers weren't weak—one could easily kill a Chaos Space Marine. They realized their teleport had been tampered with.
"What did you do, witch?" Ahriman demanded.
Few in realspace could interfere with the combined spell of Ahriman and a dozen Chaos Sorcerers—only his father Magnus, perhaps, was stronger.
"I just wanted a better playground. Now you're surrounded." Yvraine sneered, pulling out a monster capsule and pressing it.
"Roar!" A sixty-meter-tall dinosaur-like monster with a long tail appeared: Gomora.
Yvraine then giggled and her body ballooned into a 55-meter-plus giant in pink armor.
"Ready for some fun and games?" she said.
"..."
The scene went awkwardly silent. Last time, she didn't have this power, and this monster looked even stronger than before.
"Don't think size means victory. It's just two big titans. Chaos Sorcerers, restrain her! Marines, ready your melta weapons—blow them apart!" Ahriman commanded.
A fierce fight broke out. Chaos Sorcerers unleashed psychic spells, and Chaos Marines charged with chainswords and fired at the giants.
But they couldn't even scratch the defense—neither Yvraine nor Gomora could be harmed.
Melta, bolters, plasma—useless. EX-level Gomora's defense could even take an Ultra Warrior's signature beam head-on.
If you didn't have Specium Ray-level firepower, hitting these monsters was just tickling.
Yvraine, even enlarged, was even faster; her psychic shield negated most attacks.
It wasn't a fair fight at all. Even Ahriman's strongest spells felt like tickles.
"Roar!" Gomora's horns glowed red, unleashing a crimson shockwave, instantly incinerating dozens of Chaos Marines—their empty shells clattering to the ground.
"No! I'll kill you all!" Ahriman raged.
"Don't worry—the fun's just begun. I'll let you live."
The battle raged; Chaos Marines fell by the dozen. Ahriman watched his brothers die, their souls scattered.
This woman was far stronger than before—above even Primarch-level!
"Aaaagh!!" Ahriman screamed in agony.
…
Elsewhere, the Space Wolves fought back against the sudden daemon incursion.
"Destroy the daemons, warriors of Fenris!" Not only Space Wolves but the local tribesmen fought fiercely with whatever weapons they had.
After defeating the daemons, the Space Wolves would choose the bravest young men to become new recruits. With billions of planet-dwellers, plenty of candidates were available.
The new Space Marine surgery was much improved—any normal adult male could succeed, unless he was old.
Planetary battles were also monitored by Rhodes, who sent his Marines to help the Space Wolves quickly quell the chaos.
With the Marines' help, the daemons were cleared in hours, and the Eldar Farseers sealed the warp rifts.
The rapid resolution was thanks to the Eldar's warnings.
The Space Wolves' Librarius couldn't handle so many rifts, so the Eldar Farseers helped immensely.
"Lord Rhodes! This attack seems premeditated by our old enemy—the Thousand Sons.
We captured a Chaos Sorcerer and got some intel." Space Wolves' Wolf Lord Logan reported.
"Oh? What did you find?" Rhodes asked.
"It was Ahriman—the Thousand Sons' strongest psyker after Magnus, maybe even the top now," Logan said.
If Magnus hadn't returned, Ahriman would be the strongest. His psychic power was among the best in the galaxy.
"Lord Rhodes, the Farseers told me their Prophet is dealing with him now," Logan said.
Just then, a warp fluctuation appeared and Yvraine arrived, dragging a pig-headed man.
"Whoa! Who's that?"
"Ahriman! I left him alive for you." Yvraine clapped her hands.
