Way of Overlord
Chapter 534: Staying Out of Cause and Effect
CHAPTER 534: STAYING OUT OF CAUSE AND EFFECT
In this world, those who heard the name of Narakanatha and knew his job must wonder what he actually looks like
After all, those who see him usually see him with his mask on. It would not be like tonight where he put down his mask and shows his face
Some people who have heard rumours about the face hidden behind the mask, said that the reason why the master of Naraka Griha wears mask is because their method of martial arts requires them to ingest poisons.
And this poisons also take everything that is good about them and strip it away.
Hence, the face of the master of Naraka Griha is said to be ugly, and diseased.
And that is why he wears his mask.
To hide his ugliness that could make people die of fear
Others said, that the mask is to bound evil spirts that is sealed inside the body of the master of Naraka Griha
And there is many more rumours and tall tales about the face hidden behind the mask
The face of the current master of Naraka Griha had never been seen by anybody before
If they did see the face, then the face they did see is nothing more than an illusion that he wanted people to see or a mask.
But in front of Angah, he shows his true face. Because there is no need to lie and no need to hide
He had his golden eyes, and Angah also has his own kind of eyes.
The secret of heavens might be obscured and veiled right now but that did not mean the Second Son would be blind without it
Even if he closes his eyes, his eyes could still see.
"What a powerful golden eyes" Angah compliments
"My eyes is not as.....penetrating as your eyes"
Angah laugh and said
"Why are we comparing eyes? Hahahaha!" Angah laughed.
Narakanatha frowned and then he has to remind himself this is not Yindu.
Here, is the Great Steppe.
And the destiny of the Great Steppe has been rising since last year.
He did not know who is the Kan.
But he knows that the destiny of the Great Steppe has become stronger.
Before the clouds of tribulation fills the entire heaven of the Great Steppe, he did glimpse through the veil and saw the wolf.
With great vitality and fiery eyes, it felt like the wolves of the Steppe is about to ride all over the heavens and rip out every flesh of every beings that dares stop their way
A few decades ago, the wolf was in repose.
And there is red and black clouds all over the Great Steppe.
There is a calamity brewing in the Great Steppe.
But somehow, when he look at the skies a few months ago, he notices that the Wolves of the Great Steppe is now not only kicking, but they are full of vitality.
It is ready to pounce on anyone that dares to attack them
Angah has a bit of that blessing of the Great Steppe.
In Yindu, he did not need to fear this old man at all. If this was Yindu, it would be him inviting him to drink
But this is not his heaven. And when one is not in one territory, learn to bow your head if you did not want things to be messy
And he is not here to make trouble. Just because he has the ability to make trouble, did not mean he has to make trouble.
And mortal things should not be touch casually. There is too many restriction on him. But this old man is not
Because he is not an old gods. Nor is he those dirty things. He is a mortal. A mortal that is quite special.
But because he is a mortal, there is some things that Narakanatha could not do. There is restriction on him but not on this old man
So, today, he had to sit here and drink water
Narakanatha sometimes look toward the direction of that battle.
And he frowned.
His eyes could see through this tent and even could see though those stone walls and even the dust in that pavilion that is rising and scattering everywhere could not block his eyes
So, he could see how the battle is progressing. And he frowned when he look at the one fighting Ayera
"What a peculiar child" he mutters
The child that he is looking at must be the Kan. Narakanatha might have long been in Yindu but he also knows certain terms of the Great Steppe
Kan is a title of strength. It is given to powerful chief that controls a lot of land.
There is also the title of Qayan who rules entire regions of the Great Steppe.
There is soldiers that they could command.
Narakanatha heard that this young child is the Kan.
If this man wanted to win, it is very easy
Call his soldiers and apprehend Ayera and the conclusion of this battle is settled.
He did not understand why the man did not do this.
Narakanatha is not like Angah who understood the ins and outs of this matter.
Narakanatha relies on the stars and the heavens above to calculate that the seed would bloom and came here.
He did not understand the politics and the relationship between people here.
Nor is a being like him cares that much about worldly affairs.
It is not so much as ignorance as it is intentional neglect
For a being like them, caring too much is not beneficial
Angah could see that Narakanatha keep glancing toward the direction of the battle and he could not help but sigh
"There is no need to be impatient. If it reach the point where the Kan wanted to kill that Seed, I would come forward and make sure that she at least survive this ordeal. The Kan should give me some face if that were to happen. And you could stay out of this cause and effect"
Hearing this Narakanatha ponder for a moment before sighing. He nodded.
"I am also just doing a favour. There is no need to be entangled in this kind of cause and effect" he mutters.
He mutters loud enough for Anagha to hear which is just his way of saying that he agrees with Angah method
Angah smiles
He was quite confident that he could convince Narakanatha to stay his hand the moment he came here.
Because Narakanatha must have realized.
That the destiny and fate of that child, is not easy to meddle with
And if he enter that maelstrom, then he might have to stay a long time in Yindu to wash off the cause and effect.
When he understood that this is Mahakala errands and not Narakanatha personal expedition, Angah was even more convinced.
It is different after all. Narakanatha personal errand and Mahakala errand. Narakanatha owes a favour to Mahakala and it is only right he has to settle this favour. But how to do it depends on how Narakanatha do it
"The blessing and the will of the Steppe concentrated on that boy. It is very similar to the young chief of the east that I meet"
Narakanatha remembers that when he passes through the narrow passage that connected Yindu and the eastern borders of the Great Steppe, he passes through a large tribe.
Tens of thousands of men could be seen.
At that time, the blessing of the Great Steppe seems concentrated on this tribe and Narakanatha rest there for a while in the guise of a wandering mystic.
He begs for a few food and some of the warriors give him food and water.
He goes to join the rituals by the Ashana, ingest some herbs and it was there he met the chief of that tribe.
He then found out that the tribe is called Esbizuk and this tribe has been conquering the lower eastern area and is expanding by the day
When Narakanatha sees the chief, he could see there is also a piece of will of the Steppe on him and the blessing of the Steppe is also following him
Narakanatha after seeing that quickly disappears from the rituals and leave that tribe.
It is not that he is afraid of that mortal.
But simply because he did not want to get tainted by the cause and effect.
The longer he is there, the more probable that he could be sucked into the cause and effect of that matter.
So, to prevent it, he simply leave that tribe.
Now, he is coming here, to the place where that Seed is about to bloom, and he met another person like that chief on the east.
It almost felt like the cause and effect of the Great Steppe is pushing him to enter.
Narakanatha however is not a normal mortal.
He is not one of the old gods, but he also could not say that he is entirely mortal
Because of that, he could choose to stay out of it.
That is his privilege.
