Wealthy Beauty in the 60s
Chapter 490 - 492: Emotions
CHAPTER 490: CHAPTER 492: EMOTIONS
After Feng Ying died, Wang Xueyong was relieved, and no one found him, eliminating a major hidden danger, leaving Wang Xueyong unburdened.
Everyone thought that Feng Ying had died from excessive grief, drowning herself in the river, but no one suspected Wang Xueyong—not even Liu Haihua.
However, Gao Guofu and Lin Xuebi, who were always watching their daughter and son-in-law, noticed something amiss. They first observed that there was something unusual between Liu Haihua and Wang Xueyong, and also that Wang Zhengping looked like Hao Accountant’s son. That was puzzling.
Wang Zhengping had studied in the county town, living at The Wangs and rarely returning to the Red Star Production Team.
But once, when Wang Zhengping was hospitalized after being injured by Feng Ying, Hao Accountant’s wife did not say much that alarmed Lin Xuebi. However, when she saw Hao Accountant’s son, Lin Xuebi was shocked.
Hao Accountant had always prohibited his son from associating with The Lius or Wang Xueyong, so no one had noticed anything unusual.
But after observing Wang Zhengping for a while, how could Lin Xuebi not recognize her own grandson?
Moreover, to Lin Xuebi, Wang Zhengping did not resemble Gao Guihua at all and did not look like Wang Xueyong either; instead, he bore a striking resemblance to Hao Accountant, which was too much of a coincidence.
If Lin Xuebi hadn’t known that her daughter had no prior relationship with Hao Accountant before her pregnancy, she would have almost suspected her daughter.
With this suspicion, Lin Xuebi and Gao Guofu began keeping close tabs on their son-in-law and The Lius, so on that rainy night, Lin Xuebi didn’t know how Feng Ying had died, but she did know that Wang Xueyong had contact with Feng Ying that day.
"Guofu, do you think Wang Xueyong might have had some relationship with Liu Haihua and then killed Feng Ying to silence her?" Lin Xuebi speculated.
Gao Guofu shook his head, "You think too much. As far as I see, there’s nothing wrong with our son-in-law; he just meets with The Lius too often, which is unusual."
"Exactly, and how does Zhengping look so much like Hao Accountant’s son? Liu Haiguo and Liu Haihua are twins, and they differ a lot, but they do share some resemblances; however, Zhengping and Li Juan look nothing alike, nor do they resemble Guihua or even look like Wang Xueyong," Lin Xuebi frowned, "Could it be that when Guihua gave birth, Hao Accountant’s wife swapped our grandson?"
It’s strange that Lin Xuebi thought of this. After all, Hao Accountant is just an accountant and nowhere comparable to The Wangs—if his son became The Wang’s, his future would be immensely different.
"We need to get to the bottom of this," Gao Guofu was now very dissatisfied with his son-in-law.
"And that Liu Haihua, she doesn’t look decent at all," Lin Xuebi frowned tightly, feeling that although Wang Xueyong would not fancy Liu Haihua, she disapproved of her.
Gao Guofu squinted his eyes and said, "I just hope the son-in-law doesn’t make a mistake; otherwise, he won’t get away with disappointing our Guihua, and I, as the father-in-law, won’t let him off easily."
Wang Xueyong, Liu Haihua, and Hao Accountant did not know they were already under surveillance by Gao Guofu and Lin Xuebi, and for a long time, everyone thought these were old issues that could not be resolved.
Since Wang Zhengping returned to the city, Hao Accountant was relieved, and with his son tanned as dark as a berry, Hao Accountant relaxed too.
Wang Xueyong and Liu Haihua still maintained contact, failing to sever their relationship. Gao Guihua’s relationship with Wang Xueyong somewhat improved, believing that Wang Xueyong loved her and was her husband, so she was always resentful of Liu Haihua’s closeness to Wang Xueyong, and even confronted her.
But others did not think that Liu Haihua had any chance with Wang Xueyong; they just thought that Gao Guihua and Liu Haihua might have incompatible zodiacs, unaware that women’s intuition made them hostile towards each other.
One day, while Gao Guihua was napping, Wang Xueyong was not at home, and her daughter was at school.
Suddenly, Gao Guihua screamed upon seeing a snake on the bed and fainted from fright.
Nobody knew where the snake had come from, nor did it bite Gao Guihua, but it scared her sick.
Lin Xuebi’s eyes flashed fiercely—Liu Haihua had dared to do this. Lin Xuebi did not know how Liu Haihua had managed to get a snake into Gao Guihua’s room, but she had seen Liu Haihua going into the mountains.
Lin Xuebi believed the snake came from Liu Haihua in the mountains, but with no evidence or direct witnesses, Lin Xuebi could do nothing about it, and even if she told Wang Xueyong, he would not believe her.
Terrified by the incident, Gao Guihua didn’t want to stay at home anymore, so Lin Xuebi suggested that Gao Guihua return to her parents’ home to recover.
Wang Xueyong naturally agreed. Once Gao Guihua left, Liu Haihua felt her chance had come.
Wang Xueyong’s house was originally Liu Haihua’s, no one knew it better than her, Liu Haihua even felt like it was originally hers, and that she should be the lady of the house.
"Mom, Wang Xueyong and Liu Haihua definitely have something going on; I can feel it, they are hiding something from me," Gao Guihua tearfully told Lin Xuebi.
"I know, don’t worry, I will catch them in the act," Lin Xuebi now saw Liu Haihua as a significant threat, someone who seemed to want to harm her daughter and be with Wang Xueyong.
That night, Liu Haihua actually sneaked over to The Wangs’ place. When Wang Xueyong saw Liu Haihua appear, his eyes widened and he hissed angrily, "Are you courting death? Go back."
"Brother Wang," Liu Haihua was not afraid of Wang Xueyong anymore, directly taking off her headscarf and throwing herself onto the bed.
"Brother Wang, I’ve missed you," Liu Haihua said when Wang Xueyong did not respond to her, hurriedly adding, "Gao Guihua is not at home now, what are you afraid of? Don’t worry, I’ve been careful, nobody noticed me coming. And I’ve covered my face, even if someone sees me, they won’t recognize me."
Wang Xueyong looked at Liu Haihua steadily, said nothing, making Liu Haihua feel uneasy, "Brother Wang, are you angry with me? Don’t be mad, I just love you too much, I miss you too much."
"Go back now, and don’t come here again," Wang Xueyong warned sternly and solemnly.
"No, Brother Wang, let me stay tonight; I promise there will be no next time," Liu Haihua pleaded, having come all this way, unwilling to just go back.
