As soon as Ning Hui finished speaking, Xia Xiao laughed, "Xiao Min is only twenty-five, there’s no rush. Young people nowadays tend to marry late."

The two chatted about their children’s prospects in a restaurant, not expecting Ning Hui’s gaze to suddenly linger toward the entrance. Xia Xiao followed her gaze, first surprised, and then their eyes met.

The young couple that entered was handsome and beautiful—a perfect match—but they were the very two that Ning Hui and Xia Xiao were fretting over.

Suddenly, Feiyang paused and glanced their way. Although Ning Hui tried to retreat, she was caught in the act.

Without hiding any longer, Ning Hui greeted them openly, "Feiyang, you and Xiao Min came here to eat?"

"Godmother, Mother," Feiyang and Li Min stood up, and upon seeing Xia Xiao, they also greeted, "Mother, Godmother."

Li Min’s cheeks turned a shade redder, a bashful sense of being caught washing over her while Feiyang remained much calmer as he brought Li Min over.

"You guys enjoy your meal; we’ve already eaten," said Ning Hui, pulling Xia Xiao with her. "Let’s go for a walk and not disturb the young couple’s date."

Xia Xiao looked at Feiyang and the blushing Li Min, nodded her head, and smilingly urged Feiyang to take good care of Li Min before leaving with Ning Hui.

Li Min whispered despairingly, "This is tragic, we’ve been caught."

"What’s there to be afraid of? My mom knows we’re dating, she’ll definitely be happy, and your mom has been hoping for this all along," Feiyang replied.

With Feiyang’s reassurance, Li Min nodded. Although the two families got along well and the kids played together, Li Min had always been resistant due to Ning Hui’s constant attempts to push her children towards the Gao family.

During her rebellious phase, she liked to go against what the elders wanted, refusing to let them arrange her life.

Ning Hui had wanted her daughter to become a teacher or find a clerical job at an office, but Li Min chose to pursue military medicine instead.

After completing her internship, she was assigned to the elite special forces team led by Feiyang as their medic. Seeing Feiyang receive a love confession from a female soldier, Li Min felt a pang of jealousy. The thought of Feiyang dating another woman brought her discomfort.
