Meanwhile, Kimberly was already at Tobias’s office, crying so hard she barely had tears left.
She sobbed, “Dad, you have to do something about Kaia! Look at me! Look at my neck and my corbone! Everything’s all red and blotchy! Dad, look at this giant blister! The doctor said it’ll take at least two weeks to heal!”
Sally’s heart ached watching Kimberly in such pain.
Is Kaia really trying to ruin Kimberly’s face?
“Tobias, I’ve always backed Kaia whenever she and Kimberly had their little spats,” she said. “But this time? She’s gone too far! Kimberly’s still young–she’s gonna get married someday.”
Her words made it sound like Kaia did it all on purpose.
Tobias’s face got dark. “That ungrateful kid! I’m calling her right
now.”
He tried three times, but she didn’t pick up.

Tobias sneered and dialed the nursing home directly. “Director,

it’s me. I want to bring my mother home. Can you arrange that?”
“Well… But your daughter just paid for another month a few days ago. Mr. Domont, are you sure you want to take Madam
Domont home?”
Tobias’s eyes narrowed. He didn’t expect Kaia to have that kind of money saved up.
He made a little snort before answering, “My daughter’s been giving us troubletely, but my mom wants toe home. We can’t really go against what she wants, right? How about this- I’lle by tomorrow and see what my mom thinks about it. Does that work for you?”
He continued, “As for the money she paid, just keep it. Call it a bonus for your nurses and staff taking care of my mom all these years. Sound good?”
The director chuckled, “As long as the family signs off and the patient agrees, we certainly have no objections. Thanks for the bonus, Mr. Domont!”
Kaia had no idea that Tobias just turned her 50 grand into his own little favor.

Alden walked in with Luna next to him.

Joanne spotted the bandage on Luna’s corbone right away. “Luna, what happened? Are you hurtb?/bb” /b
Alden answered casually, “Yeahb, /bMom. Luna got burned.”
Zane looked confused. “How’d you get burned there?”
His eyes darkened, and his face turned suspicious.
“Luna, let your mom see it. She should put some medicine on it.”
Luna’s throat tightened. She knew Zane had gotten the wrong idea.
Sure enough, Joanne’s gaze shifted, looking at her with doubt.
Luna bit her lip, feeling hurt and wrong.

Alden caught on to what his parents were thinking, and he looked ticked off.
“Mom, Dad, what are you doing? Luna got burned. Would I lie ito /iyou about that?b” /b
Joanne tried to exin, “It’s not that we don’t believe you. It’s

just that burns shouldn’t be covered up like this.”
At that, Luna’s eyes, already brimming with tears, darted
around.
“Mom, could you please help me apply the medicine?” she asked.
Alden’s heart ached for Luna.

iIt’s /iall Kaia’s fault. Otherwisei, /iiMom /iand iDad /iiwouldn’t /ihave misunderstood!
Joanne carried the medical kit over and carefully peeled back the gauze.
Seeing it was just some redness from a minor burn, she felt a wave of relief wash over her.
“Luna, you should be more careful. I always worry about you living alone like this. Why don’t you just move back home?”
“Mom, I’m good. I practice my singingte sometimes. I just don’t want to disturb everyone at Graves Manor.”
“Wow, you’ve been talking about being a big star since you were tiny. Are you really nning to enter the entertainment industry?i” /i
Luna looked down and smiled, “I wrote a song recently, and I’m

recording a demo. I don’t even know if I’ll be able to release an
album.”
Seeing Luna’s smile, Alden rxed a little.
“Don’t worry. I will help you with that.”
Joanne nodded slightly. “Yes, you should sign with Alden’spany. No one would dare bully you there. Just go have fun with it. When you’re over it, your dad can get you a simple job at Graves Group anyway.”
Joanne and Zane totally had Luna’s back.
Even though adopted, Luna was treated like a true Graves.
But there was one thing; that was their bottom line. Luna could only be their daughter.
Aside from this one point, they would agree to anything else.
Allen came downstairs to find only Zane’s family waiting. He looked around and asked, “Isn’t Lucien back yet?”
Zane spoke up, “When I left, Lucien was still in a meeting with the team. He should be home any minute now.”
Right then, Lucien walked in.
He hung his coat up calmly and looked around at everyone.

His face stayed cool as he asked, “Were you all waiting for me?”
That was so Lucien–acting all mature and calm like someone way older than he was.
Allen smiled warmly, “We haven’t been waiting long. Come sit down, and let’s eat.”
Alden stared at Lucien for a moment. If he could be as powerful as Lucien, he wouldn’t be second–guessing himself like this all the time.
“Alden, aren’t youing over?” Lucien called out.
Alden quickly responded, “Coming right nowb./b”
During dinner, Allen brought up Luna’s burn injuryb, /bexpressing his concern.
Lucien raised an eyebrow casually. “Oh, really? Where did you get hurt, Luna?”
Luna’s hands tensed. Something about the way Lucien asked that question felt off.
“It’s nothing serious, just a little spot where hot water sshed on my corbone.”
Lucien’s gaze lingered for a moment before he looked away.

“Yeah, it’s barely noticeable.
“But Kaia’s injury was much worse.”
Luna’s breath caught in her throat.

Alden frowned, clearly confused. “Uncle Lucien, she’s the one who threw it at Luna. How could she be injured?”
The weight of the words hit hard.
For a moment, Zane, Joanne, and Allen sat frozen, trying to process what they’d just heard.
Lucien’s piercing eyes locked onto Alden, not blinking once.
“Kaia is your fiancée. Are you saying you were unaware of her injuries?b” /b
The dining room fell dead silent.
“Lucien, what the hell is going on here?” Allen demanded.
Lucien set down his fork and gracefully dabbed his lips with a napkin. Then he pulled out his phone.
“My driver happened to catch the moment on camera the other day. Dad, take a look.”
