Once her death was confirmed as a suicide, all of Kimberly’s belongings were taken by the Martins.

So, the original one must’ve been destroyed.

Gwen thought for a moment. “You’re saying Kimberly was trapped in that vi.,, so where did she even write this note?”

Kaia pulled up the image again. “Ms. Dillon, look closely. The paper isn’t in white. There’s a faint logo printed on it.”

After she left the stationery store, Kaia looked up at the building where Kimberly had jumped.

She’d overlooked something–Finn’s office was in that very building.

And behind it was an elementary school, which exined all the nearby stationery shops.

Kaia had Lucien pull Kimberly’sst day’s purchase records.

The second–tost was from that exact stationery store, and thest one was from a café right next to the office building.

When they pulled up the surveince footage and saw Kimberly bon /bthe screen, Kaia pointed at it. “Can I get a copy of the footage from this day?”

Once the store manager got permission, Kaia returned to thew firm with the footage on a USB.

At 3:05 p.m., the footage showed Kimberly entering the café and ordering a ck coffee. She took a seat in the farthest corner of the shop.

Luckily, there was a camera mounted on the ceiling right above her.

Kaia didn’t zoom in right away. She watched closely as Kimberly nced around, checking to see if anyone was watching, then slowly pulled out the stationery. She unfolded it, as if saying a final goodbye to the world.

Once Kimberly finished writingb, /bKaia zoomed in several times, and the words on the stationery were clear as day.

Just as she suspected, part of the note had been erased.

But then her phone rang, and her expression darkened instantly after she picked it up.

Her grip on the baby’s waist tightened, making Nic wail in pain.

The nanny rushed over, clearly distressed by the baby’s ufortable cries.
