Werewolf Leveling: Building the Strongest Pack in the Apocalypse
Chapter 101: Primordial Werewolf
CHAPTER 101: PRIMORDIAL WEREWOLF
"I am... a primordial werewolf."
As Danzo spoke, it felt as if everything I thought I knew evaporated.
I thought I was the only one capable of creating primordials. Who is this woman?
"But I’m also more than that." Danzo continued as a managing smile grew on his face. "I am also an awakened werewolf."
"An awakened werewolf?"
"Yes, they taught me all sorts of things. She taught me that humans and other supernatural creatures like us, werewolves, evolve at level 25. While for demons it was different. When humans evolve, they gain a specific class. But for supernatural creatures, either one of two things happens. They either become a higher existence if they are a part of the race or they unlock a hidden bloodline. Though she said unlocking a new bloodline is extremely rare, so most transcend into a higher race. Like how I went from being a regular werewolf into an awakened werewolf."
"What about rank evolution?" I asked.
"That seems to be something unique only to us werewolves. Like when a beta becomes an alpha of his own pack."
It made sense that there were different types of evolution. I bet other supernatural creatures had evolutions that were unique to only them.
"Why are you revealing all this to me? I thought you came here to kill me."
"Because I am impressed by you. You managed to tame those wild skinwalkers and kill the son of your former alpha without anyone batting an eye. You even managed to capture the heart of my own daughter, one of my most valuable tools. I want you to join my pack."
I thought that might be why. He now looked at me the same way he did Sylvie. Like a tool he can exploit.
"I refuse."
"Then you choose death. You lured me away so my presence wouldn’t affect the outcome of the battle, but what happens there hardly matters since the two of us are the only ones fit to be alpha."
"Indeed. So it’s winner takes all."
Just then the moon, which was hovering in the sky, reached its peak, and its energy washed over both of us.
Full moon effect! All your stats have been [2x].
Danzo smiled as he felt the energy of the moon, but suddenly his eyes began to change from golden yellow to blood red.
’Is this because of his awakening?’
Just as I thought that, Danzo’s grin widened, and he revealed something he had tucked underneath his shirt. It was a red crystal the color of blood. The same emblem Kaelen had. Danzo must’ve taken it from him after he defeated him.
"This handy thing here is a moonstone. Its true power comes out whenever there is a full moon. The full moon doubles your power, but with the relic in hand, your power increases threefold."
Danzo’s voice began to grow distorted as if a demon had hidden inside of him. Every vein on his body glowed red as he charged at me, trampling trees in his path. The entire forest was cowed someday by the dread of his wrath.
I am. Immediately activated my phantom pack skill and sent my shadow hounds to meet him head-on. But their attacks couldn’t even pierce his skin.
"My trait allows me to harden my body to be like steel. Now that I have awakened, my body is now harder than diamond."
I knew just how solid his body was from when I collided with him before. But if I couldn’t even pierce his skin, then my devouring bite skill wouldn’t have any effect.
The same goes for the hellfire skill. Just touching him wouldn’t be enough since his life force was as high as that evolved demogorgon I fought.
My shadow hounds surrounded him, but he didn’t even spare them a thought as he trampled everything in his path to get to me. His claws took a dead arc as he swiped at my throat, but I nimbly evaded the attack while countering with another attack of my own.
With his body being like titanium armor, I targeted the only weak spot he seemingly had: his eyes. And with devastating precision my claws met their target as I instantly blinded him.
The moment he lost his sight, he began swinging wildly at me. No, his attacks were still precise.
He was using the sound of my breathing to figure out where I was. Realizing this, I immediately stopped my breath.
"Smart," he chuckled.
I didn’t waste any time and immediately kicked the back of his knee to get him down on my level. Then, using every strength I could muster, I planted my knee against his shin.
The impact caused a small explosion of wind that currently fluttered about. The bones in my legs shattered in the process, but before he could even hit the ground, they were already healed. While he still hadn’t regained his vision.
"Your healing ability isn’t as fast as mine," I said as I stood over him. He lay on the ground, eyes blinded and blood gushing from his busted lips, but he still held a smile.
"So that’s your plan," he snickered. "Destroy your body to destroy me. But how long can you keep this up? How long can your stamina last?"
"Long enough"
"We’ll see."
....
Meanwhile, Isabella was in the midst of battle. Now that Danzo was off the scene, his three commanders stood out now more than ever.
But what Isabella and the others didn’t know was that all three generals were evolved werewolves.
They had all evolved just like Danzo, and each of them became an awakened werewolf. Meaning the special trait they had before was now far superior to what it was.
As Isabea fought off the Nyx pack, she felt a sharp pain in her side. Her eyes widened when. She saw the afterimage of the general who had managed to sneak up behind her and managed to land a wound in her unguarded back.
This general was a tall woman with short white hair and a slender figure. She smiled as she licked Isabella’s blood from her claws.
"Hmm... vampire blood," she moaned, "and a hint of werewolf. What are you, some kind of half-breed?"
Isabella said nothing, only frowned at the woman before her.
"What self-respecting werewolf would put himself with a leech?" she snickered.
"You have better things to worry about than my origins," Isabella snapped.
"Do I?" The woman chuckled teasingly.
She couldn’t help but remember the stories she was told as a child. About how cruelly vampires treated her kind. Almost bringing them to extinction.
Seeing one in front of her, one that was a part of a werewolf pack no less, caused an unexplainable anger to rise inside her.
"I detest vampires."
Just then Isabella felt her vision double, and she almost lost her footing.
"What is happening?" she whispered to herself. "Why do I suddenly feel so—"
"I see my poison is taking effect."
"Poison?"
This woman inherited a trait that allowed her to secrete poison from her claws. Now that she was an evolved werewolf, its effect easily tripled, making her venom more potent than the moon princess’s venom.
Isabella felt her world turn into a blurry haze and her entire body weaken before she collapsed to the ground.
