CHAPTER 32: JEALOUS CLARA!

"Think fast," he said. "Monday comes soon. Everything will change as soon as I get your answer. If you wish to be with me, you will see the twins every day. If your answer is no... you..."

Viktor did not finish. A distant sound cut into the moment. Both men turned their heads immediately.

A car eased into the path. Lights spilt across the forest. The driver’s door opened.

"Boss? Boss?" Someone called for Viktor from a distance. Viktor straightened, pulling his tie from Elias’s hand. He touched his reddened wrist and kissed it. Elias flinched.

’Why would he...?’

It was as if a spell that was cast on him broke.

"I’ll see you Monday," Viktor said. He turned and walked away toward the car. The driver finally saw him and was worried.

"I told you I’d walked my way to the house," Viktor said with a bit of annoyance in his voice.

"Forgive me, boss. When you didn’t return after ten minutes, I was worried something had happened to you,"

"I was with my kids’ nanny, do you think an ordinary Beta like him could hurt me?" He laughed and the driver apologised. Viktor turned to look into the forest and it was empty. Elias had already left.

"It’s fine. I got the results of my test anyway. Let’s head home,"

The driver was confused but he didn’t dare pry. He opened the door for Viktor and drove off. He did not look back as the car zoomed towards the mansion.

.

Elias walked for a long time. He felt cold all over as he leaned close to a tree. He checked his wrist, which was kissed by Viktor. The same hand that was bruised. He couldn’t stop thinking about the question Viktor asked him.

He remembered what Viktor told him about the reason for getting engaged. It’s for the safety of his sons. If he cancels the engagement because of a single fake nanny like him, the kids could be affected. He would want anything to happen to the kids.

Still, he knew he was going to regret it a bit.

’Do I like Viktor? Do I really like someone like him? Even if he has feelings for me, it’ll all disappear once he finds out I’m an Omega. I must make sure this engagement is not cancelled because of me and leave as soon as I get my pay,’

He tightened his grip around the hoodie and walked back to the mansion. Without heading to his room, he went straight to see the twins. He asked Gerald to look after them but Gerald must be busy with the engagement preparations.

He pushed the door open and saw that Luka was awake and making a mess with the twins’ toys.

"You’re not a kid, Luka. Stop creating more mess," Elias said as he stepped in, closing the door behind him.

Luka flashed him a grin when he saw Elias, then turned serious.

"You look like you have a war in your head," Luka said. "What happened?"

Elias took off his hoodie and set it down. He didn’t answer Luka’s question. He couldn’t trust anyone from the Drago family. He knew that Luka had once tried to claim him when he found out he was an Omega.

’What would he do if I tell him about Viktor’s proposal and my urge to say no? Would he force me to be with his brother or force me to be with him instead?’ he shook his head and touched his forehead so he wouldn’t think too much.

"Are you alright?" Luka leaned closer to Elias. Elias flinched as he had no idea how Luka got close to him that fast.

"I can perceive my brother’s Pheromones all over you. He hasn’t caught you yet, has he?"

Elias dragged his lower lip between his teeth and before he could answer, Luka let out a laugh.

"What am I even asking? If he finds out you’re an Omega, you wouldn’t be standing here. He would have shot you or... maybe something worse," Luka shrugged as he turned around to arrange the toy mess he caused.

Elias folded his hands.

"What is his problem with Omegas anyway? It’s not like... an omega could hurt a powerful alpha like him,"

Luka was silent. His expression was almost cold but he switched immediately when he saw he wasn’t supposed to be angry with Elias. Elias wasn’t his enemy.

"That’s what you think but... Omegas could be stronger than Alphas in so many ways, Elias. Also, the story about my brother can’t be told by me. If you survive long and you two get closer, he will tell you himself,"

Elias turned his head as his guilt filled his face.

"I’ll be leaving after the engagement. I’d rather leave than lose my life,"

"Excellent choice but what about the twins? Have you told them?" Luka asked. Elias looked around the room and realised it was empty. The twins were nowhere to be found.

He furrowed his brows.

"Where are they? Where did the twins go?" He asked.

"Changing the topic now, are we?" Luka smirked but he answered. "Apparently, that ’woman’ came and left with them. She said they were going to have a little bond dinner together,"

"Did she ask for permission? I’m sure the twins were forced," Elias looked worried. He could imagine what the twins went through.

"You’re wrong. They went without anyone forcing them," Luka paused and arranged the last toy on the toy shelf. "They seem to be up to something. Be careful, Elias. That woman is nastier than she looks,"

Luka planted a kiss on the side of his head and waved.

"Don’t let the twins know I kissed you, they would skin me alive,"

Elias was too tired to react. Maybe, because he didn’t feel anything. If it were Viktor.

His cheek flushed red as his lips tingled.

"I’d better wait for the twins,"

He said and left the room. He met Gerald down, as busy as ever. But he had the other male employee help out. Elias even assisted him and they finished moving some stuff into the house.

"Thanks for helping, Elias," Gerald said, handing him a bottle of water.

"But, what are all these boxes?" He asked, twisting the cap and taking a huge gulp.

"Oh! Miss Clara is moving in after the engagement," he revealed.

The water suddenly entered the wrong pipe and Elias started coughing. Gerald tapped his back gently, like a father.

"You should drink slowly. The water isn’t going anywhere,"

Cough. Cough.

"I’m sorry," he apologised and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand.

"I had no idea she was moving in,"

"We also had no idea. I haven’t even told the master yet. She went out with the kids and then called her home to move her things to the estate. She must be doing it for a reason," Gerald rubbed his chin.

Elias looked around and used the opportunity to tell Gerald about his leaving.

Gerald looked sad when he heard it.

"I wish you were a Beta, then, you wouldn’t have to hide your identity. The kids would turn this place into hell if they found out you left,"

"I hope they’ll be in safe hands once they find a new Nanny," Elias said but imagine the kids with someone new. His replacement. His chest burned with jealousy but he quenched it with more water and tossed the bottle aside. "Please, take good care of them. Don’t worry, I’m going to hide well so the Master won’t find me,"

"Haha! I hope so too," Gerald tapped his shoulder. "Let’s hurry and move the last boxes into Miss Clara’s room before the twins return,"

"Miss Clara’s room? Isn’t she staying with the Master?" He asked.

"The master doesn’t like anyone sharing the same space with him. He hates his bed, literally. That’s why he spends more time in his office,"

’Huh? Does he hate his bed? Doesn’t share space? Why did he... sleep close to me then? Does he love me that much? Is he insane?’

Elias’s cheek flushed red and he snapped out of his thoughts when Gerald touched his shoulder.

"Are you okay? Your face got red,"

"Haha! I’m fine!" He laughed and started working. Since he had no strength, he could only lift small boxes.

He peeped inside one of them and saw it was filled with sex toys. His eyes widened as he almost dropped it.

’I’ll just pretend I didn’t see any of that,’

She said and saw Gerald speaking on the radio. He turned to Elias.

"The master has figured something is going on. I’m going to explain to him. It’s left with a few boxes,"

"Don’t worry, I can handle it. You should go,"

Gerald nodded and left. Elias stretched his hands as he walked down the stairs to carry the last box.

He bent to carry it and a car drove into the compound. His face bloomed as he saw it was the twins. He dropped the box to welcome them instead. As he walked closer to the car, the door opened and instead of the twins, Clara jumped out.

"Oh... Hello, Miss Cla-"

SLAP!

Elias’s eyes widened as his head was tilted to the other side, thanks to the slap.
