When 'God' Decides To Start Over
Chapter 560 - 238: Heavenly Gate
CHAPTER 560: CHAPTER 238: HEAVENLY GATE
"Going to the Tianmen, just go. Why are you being so secretive? You almost made me think you wanted to elope with me," Li Xiu laughed.
"Are you really clueless or just pretending? You’ve managed to thoroughly offend both the Li and Bai families. They might try every possible way to kill you. You’re safe inside Longevity City, but it’s a different story once you leave. Especially since you’re entering the Land of Trial in Tianmen with me, without your Demon Armor, you’re much more vulnerable," Li Qingyi said.
"You mean the Li and Bai families might target us when we head to Tianmen?" Li Xiu seemed unbothered.
Before the Jedi Knight’s Super Spirit Limit reached 99%, he was somewhat worried about this. Now, trying to kill him wouldn’t be so easy.
Of course, if it were any other Land of Trial instead of Tianmen, Li Xiu might hesitate. But Tianmen was different. Old Knife and Wan Chaocun were there, and with them, what was there to fear?
"Not many people know about me going to Tianmen with you, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. Everyone thinks I’m preparing for the birthday banquet. We’ll use this time to go to Tianmen. Ideally, we’ll return before the banquet starts, but it wouldn’t matter if we’re a bit late," Li Qingyi said, looking at Li Xiu. "Your Jedi Knight’s injuries should be healed, right? As long as the Super Spirit Limit reaches 90%, that’s good enough, no need for it to be any higher."
"Then there’s no problem," Li Xiu nodded.
"Alright, put this on, and we’ll sneak into Tianmen quietly," Li Qingyi said, handing Li Xiu a bundle containing a prepared cloak and a Bronze Mask.
Li Xiu donned the cloak and Bronze Mask and followed Li Qingyi out of the city towards the outskirts of Longevity City.
Arriving again at Tianmen, the gatekeepers stopped Li Xiu and Li Qingyi. Li Qingyi merely showed a peculiar Jade Talisman, and they let them through without asking any questions.
Tianmen was encased within a massive chimney-like structure. Once inside, Li Xiu finally saw the true shape of Tianmen.
It was an enormous Jade Gate, completely transparent and seemingly made of flawless jade.
The Jade Gate towered dozens of meters high, making humans seem even smaller than ants before it.
Li Qingyi took down her bundle, retrieved several jade beads, and embedded them onto the Jade Gate.
Li Xiu was somewhat surprised that the gemstone used to unlock the Tianmen was a type of jade, not one of the Five Great Gemstones.
Li Xiu had no expertise in jade and could not identify it. To him, all the white jade looked like marble.
Typically, only a dozen gemstones were needed to open a Trial Gate, and even the more gemstone-heavy gates required only a few dozen.
But Li Qingyi had already set over a hundred jade beads onto the Jade Gate and continued placing more.
When Li Qingyi finally set the entire bundle of jade beads, the Jade Gate radiated light, majestically opening bit by bit.
Smooth, milky-white jade light poured out from the gate, its radiance like smoke and mist, transforming the space before the gate into a hazy Immortal Realm.
"No need for a random entry ticket?" Li Xiu asked just as Li Qingyi was about to step inside.
"No need, the Tianmen guarantees entry," Li Qingyi said as she entered.
Li Xiu followed Li Qingyi in. As the cloud-like misty light faded from his vision, he found himself standing before a waterfall like a silver dragon descending from the sky.
The white cliff was steeply cut, and the waterfall cascaded from the sky, seemingly merging with it in a blur, resembling a silver Giant Dragon descending from the heavens.
The mercury water roared as it fell, hitting the stream below, and the splashes touched Li Xiu, bringing some coolness.
The roaring river of water flowed through the canyon, showcasing the wonder of creation to Li Xiu.
He and Li Qingyi stood on a stone platform near the waterfall, with the waterfall’s flow passing on either side. The roar was deafening.
"Welcome to the Tianmen Trial Ground. The S-grade trial to ascend Tianmen is about to commence. The trial rules are as follows..." A light screen appeared before them, displaying the trial rules.
The trial rules were simple: they needed to climb the waterfall and reach the platform at the cliff’s peak to complete the trial.
The challenge was to ascend from under the waterfall, climbing directly through the cascading water, which posed immense difficulty for any Trial Taker.
Aside from the daunting force of the waterfall, the cliff itself was smooth as a mirror, offering no footholds or grips—climbing without wall-crawling abilities seemed impossible.
Coupled with the intense water pressure, even Li Xiu, an S-grade Trial Taker, doubted his ability to climb successfully.
"Don’t worry. Since I brought you here, I have a way to help you complete the trial," Li Qingyi confidently told Li Xiu.
"This trial is indeed challenging to pass. It would be great if you could help me through it," Li Xiu nodded.
