CHAPTER 126: CHAPTER 126: SHENG JIANAN, YOU BASTARD! (6)
Sheng Jianan didn’t know when he had come out of the private room, leaning against a pillar in the corridor, his entire upper body hidden in the shadows, making it hard to discern his expression.
Upon hearing Zhou Chengze’s words, Tang Yanqi froze for a moment, but she didn’t turn back to look. Even though she had just vented her anger at Sheng Jianan, she hadn’t forgiven him yet.
Tang Yanqi withdrew her hand, calmly saying to Zhou Chengze, "Mr. Zhou, thank you just now. I’ll be leaving first."
Zhou Chengze felt a bit awkward and somewhat guilty. He genuinely wanted to hold Tang Yanqi in his arms, even though he didn’t know why she was covered in wounds. He wanted to protect her well and never let her get hurt again.
But at this moment, Sheng Jianan appeared. He was the husband of this woman, the man who was supposed to protect her for a lifetime. No matter how it was calculated, it wasn’t anything Zhou Chengze should be involved in.
After a second of silence, Zhou Chengze’s face resumed its usual playful demeanor: "So Brother Nan is here, no wonder I wondered why sister-in-law would be here, hahaha... You guys are busy, I still have things to do over there."
As childhood friends, this was the first time Zhou Chengze fled in embarrassment in front of Sheng Jianan. Tang Yanqi turned around to walk back, her gaze never pausing on Sheng Jianan, and as they brushed past each other, Sheng Jianan spoke out in a mocking tone again: "Tang Yanqi, didn’t I tell you to stay away from my brothers? Even a rabbit doesn’t eat the grass nearby. How about that? I don’t want you, so you’re that eager to get with another man?"
Tang Yanqi stopped, turned around, and met Sheng Jianan’s gaze unflinchingly: "Mr. Sheng, it was you who called me here and also humiliated me in front of so many people, forcing me to leave. Don’t you find your words funny now? Also, we agreed not to make my identity public, so why did you have your flirtations call me?"
Tang Yanqi’s tone was very calm, and with half of Sheng Jianan’s face still hidden in the shadow, his dissatisfaction reached its peak after hearing Tang Yanqi’s words.
He dragged Tang Yanqi outside. Being tall and with long legs, she was no match for him, and she was practically being dragged along. Sheng Jianan gripped her wrist, which was still wounded. Tang Yanqi was in so much pain but forced herself to endure it without making a sound.
Arriving in front of the car outside, Sheng Jianan turned around and trapped Tang Yanqi between himself and the car, lowering his head to get closer to her. His dark eyes narrowed into a line: "Tang Yanqi, you’re the first woman who dared to hit me, you’ve got guts."
Tang Yanqi, her head raised, was in pain all over, but her eyes remained clear and bright, with a slight curve at the corner of her mouth: "Is that so? Then I truly apologize, you’re not the first man I’ve hit."
"You..."
Sheng Jianan’s gaze fell onto the corner of Tang Yanqi’s mouth. He’d felt something was wrong just now but hadn’t noticed until now that Tang Yanqi actually had injuries on her face.
Sheng Jianan frowned, lifting Tang Yanqi’s chin with one hand, and gently brushed the corner of her mouth with his thumb: "What happened?"
Tang Yanqi let out a cold laugh, what did this mean? Now he’s noticing her injuries? Now he’s realizing she’s hurt? Were his eyes just for show earlier?
