CHAPTER 334: CHAPTER 334: I THINK I SHOULD BE A LITTLE BRAVER (PART 4)
Sheng Jianan took Tang Yanqi to the entrance of a small shop. The name of the shop was very straightforward and blunt—"Jiajia Hot Pot."
Tang Yanqi was taken aback. Was he going to take her for hot pot?
And when she walked in and saw familiar faces, she was even more surprised.
"Mr. Sheng, Miss Tang, you’re here? Please come in."
"Boss...lady?"
This person was no one else but the owner of the roadside stall Tang Yanqi had brought Sheng Jianan to before.
Besides the proprietor and a helper, there was no one else in the shop. They found out it was cleared just for them when they learned they were coming.
The boss lady brought two servings of hot pot to their table and then sensibly went to busy herself with other things. Tang Yanqi looked down at the bowl in front of her, then looked up at Sheng Jianan. The person opposite her still wore a sulky expression.
After confirming she hadn’t offended him, Tang Yanqi naturally attributed Young Master Sheng’s unpleasant mood to traffic congestion. After hesitating for two seconds, she spoke: "Traffic in B City is always bad. If that’s what’s bothering you, you’ll be unhappy every day."
At this point, the person opposite finally reacted, but his tone was even sourer than his expression: "Which eye of yours saw that I’m unhappy?"
If he said this to anyone else, they’d likely be rendered speechless, but Miss Tang was always the one to put others at a loss for words. She looked at Sheng Jianan calmly: "Both of them."
"You..."
Young Master Sheng was momentarily stumped by her, his eyes wide with anger. He picked up the contents of the bowl and brought them to his mouth, only to spit them out in less than a second, scalded.
With his face turning beet red, it was hard not to laugh. Tang Yanqi couldn’t help but curl her lips, picking up the water nearby and handing it over: "Here you go."
Scalded, Sheng Jianan’s tongue was numb, naturally making him look even more annoyed.
But upon catching a glimpse of Tang Yanqi’s curled lips, Sheng Jianan’s expression softened for a moment. He took the water she handed him and took a sip, the awkwardness seeming to dissipate a bit.
"Who is Zhao Yang?"
"Who?"
"Zhao Yang, don’t you know him?"
Tang Yanqi frowned and thought for two seconds, then shook her head: "I don’t know him."
Sheng Qingtian, who had been frowning the whole time, instantly lit up, raised his eyebrows: "It’s nothing, let’s eat."
Tang Yanqi gave him a curious look. What’s wrong now?
Why’s he okay all of a sudden?
Just asking her about someone, and he’s fine?
Zhao Yang?... Zhao Yang?
After muttering the name twice in her mind, Tang Yanqi was sure she didn’t know him, probably had nothing to do with her.
No longer just a roadside hot pot stall, the shop now had its own restroom. Halfway through eating, Tang Yanqi felt something was off, asked the boss lady for the restroom’s location, and quickly walked over.
Looking at the slightly dark bloodstains on her trousers, Tang Yanqi sighed. As expected.
She came out awkwardly, asked the boss lady a couple of questions, and the boss lady discreetly grabbed something from behind to go with Tang Yanqi to the restroom.
After tidying herself up, Tang Yanqi stood at the sink washing her hands. The boss lady was still standing at the door. When she saw Tang Yanqi come out, she smiled and said: "Miss Tang, don’t eat spicy food during your period, it’ll hurt."
"Mm, thank you."
Tang Yanqi was naturally aloof. Though she got along well with the boss lady, they didn’t have much to talk about. After washing her hands and drying them, she was about to leave when she noticed the boss lady seemed to have something she wanted to say. Tang Yanqi hesitated for two seconds, then asked: "Is there something you want to say?"
