CHAPTER 58: CHAPTER 58: RETURN TO THE TANG FAMILY (8)

Tang Yanqi’s voice was very hoarse, obviously sounding seriously ill. However, Tang Ruhai on the other end of the phone remained focused on Sheng Jianan after receiving Tang Yanqi’s response.

"Remember, you must bring Jianan."

Tang Yanqi, feeling dizzy and with a sore throat, simply replied with an "uh-huh" before the line was disconnected. She loosened her grip, and the phone fell onto the bed.

In the dormitory, Bai Bing and Bai Xue were still rummaging through the medicine box, trying to find something for her to take.

"Tangtang, I’m going to get some hot water, you drink this cold medicine mix."

"Tangtang, stop being stubborn, just go to the hospital and get a shot."

Even Qi Cheng, whose face still didn’t look good across the room, shouted, "Tangtang, go to the hospital, Chengzi will cover the medical expenses."

Tang Yanqi lazily sat up. She was indeed uncomfortable, but it wasn’t severe enough to warrant a shot. Tang Yanqi generally guessed the fever was from a cold—it could be treated like a cold. The usual belief for Tang Yanqi was that it takes seven days to recover if you take medicine and a week if you don’t.

"Here, Tangtang, drink this."

Bai Xue carefully climbed onto Tang Yanqi’s bed with the brewed cold medicine. Tang Yanqi took the medicine from Bai Xue’s hand and drank it all in one go. Bai Xue thoughtfully wiped her mouth with a tissue, "Now, Tangtang, rest for a bit longer, and if it doesn’t get better, you must go to the hospital."

Tang Yanqi weakly smiled at Bai Xue. She and Bai Xue were roommates and friends, but from another perspective, they could also be considered strangers to her. Yet, weren’t they?

They cared for her so much, but what about her father, with whom she shared a direct blood relationship?

Tang Yanqi wasn’t someone who liked dwelling on emotions. She had long been accustomed to the indifference of the Tang Family towards her, probably just feeling vulnerable due to her illness.

Tang Yanqi set an alarm for herself, then tilted her head and went back to sleep.

When she opened her eyes again, the dormitory was empty. She grabbed her phone and saw that there were still over twenty minutes until her alarm was set to go off.

After taking the medicine and another nap, Tang Yanqi felt much better. Although her head was still a bit heavy, her forehead wasn’t as hot anymore.

She got out of bed, washed her face, and saw a note left by Bai Xue on her desk: [Tangtang, we went to the cafeteria. If you wake up, call us. Just let us know what you want to eat.]

Tang Yanqi curled her lips into a smile, habitually tucking the note into her little box. She took a set of clothes from the wardrobe to change into. Before heading out, she hesitated for a while and sent Sheng Jianan a text: [Father wants us to return to the Tang Family, I’ll say you’re in a meeting.]

The message was a little unclear, but Tang Yanqi believed Sheng Jianan would understand, and it was likely what he wanted too.

Shengshi Group, Conference Room

Sheng Jianan had just stepped out of the conference room when he saw Tang Yanqi’s text. His brow furrowed as he recalled something. He had also seen Tang Ruhai’s message, but he completely ignored it.

The Tang Family? He certainly didn’t plan to go. The engagement was arranged by Mr. Sheng, and Sheng Jianan complied out of respect for his grandfather. As for the Tang Family, he never truly regarded them as much of anything.

However, for some unknown reason, seeing such a message from Tang Yanqi now made Sheng Jianan a bit annoyed. Was she trying to collude with him?

Ha, how did she know he didn’t want to go?

What kind of trick was this woman trying to pull?
