CHAPTER 72: CHAPTER 72: ARE YOU EVEN A WOMAN? (PART 2)
Qiao Zi couldn’t hear what was being said on the other end of the phone, only Yun Fan’s side of the conversation: "Yes, I’m here to handle some issues because I’ve caused some trouble for Teacher Tang, so I’m here to resolve it."
Mu Yunfan’s tone was relaxed, but Tang Yanqi felt uneasy listening to it. Since Yun Fan was a friend of Sheng Jianan, Sheng Jianan might now think she was playing hard to get again.
Meanwhile, Sheng Jianan frowned and hung up the phone.
Teacher Tang?
Tang Yanqi?
What trouble is that woman in again?
After a brief silence, Sheng Jianan pressed the intercom: "Check if anything has happened recently at K University."
The Shengshi Group has always had contacts with K University, so it didn’t take long to find out what was happening. In less than ten minutes, Qiao Zi placed the content from K University’s campus forum in front of Sheng Jianan: "President, should we send someone to explain the situation? The Young Madam has been wrongly accused, and the school has given her three days. If there’s no solid evidence, the Young Madam will be expelled."
There was a hint of anger in Sheng Jianan’s eyes, his cold lips tightly pressed, and after a two-second silence, he tossed aside what he held: "What does that woman’s problem have to do with me?"
Qiao Zi was taken aback. She had clearly seen displeasure and anger on Sheng Jianan’s face just a moment ago. How did it change like this in the next second? Was she seeing things?
But Qiao Zi didn’t dare say more, turning and leaving, leaving Sheng Jianan alone, his gaze once again falling on the materials on the desk, his mind recalling Tang Yanqi’s pale face caused by illness and her slender wrists.
A sense of agitation welled up in his heart, an inexplicable annoyance that Sheng Jianan couldn’t put his finger on. His arrogant brows were full of discontent, and after a while, Sheng Jianan grabbed his car keys and strode out.
He didn’t know why he felt so restless inside, nor what exactly he was restless about, but clearly, he now wanted to see what that woman looked like.
Bearing the burden of words like "kept woman" and "gold digger," would that calm little face of hers show any change?
The car sped all the way to K University. Unlike Mu Yunfan, who would properly park the car outside the campus, Sheng Jianan drove straight in, paying no heed to whether parking was allowed there, stopping directly at the main building entrance, then striding to the principal’s office.
Mu Yunfan had initially thought that as long as he came forward to explain, the matter would be resolved. But unexpectedly, people still needed to verify his explanation. Fortunately, Mu Yunfan was not an ordinary person; a few phone calls established his authority, lending weight to his words.
Meanwhile, Mu Yunfan also realized that this wasn’t just idle gossip by bored people but a deliberate act by someone with intentions, even targeting Tang Yanqi from within the principal’s office.
A regular female student, a girl working part-time to support herself, Mu Yunfan found some people’s actions truly exasperating.
After clarifying everything, the principal apologized to Tang Yanqi on behalf of the school: "Tang, this was our oversight. We hope you don’t take it to heart."
Tang Yanqi tugged at the corner of her mouth, saying little. Now, this matter was known throughout the school. When she walked anywhere on campus these past two days, all she heard was murmuring. The things people said were hurtful, and while Tang Yanqi’s nature was not to care, even a small stone can hurt even if it can’t kill. Was her reputation as a girl so easily dismissed with just a "don’t take it to heart"?
