CHAPTER 76: CHAPTER 76: ARE YOU EVEN A WOMAN? (PART 6)
When Sheng Jianan was sent into the car, he still hadn’t woken up, and Mu Yunfan didn’t take them to Lake Bay Villa but to Sheng Jianan’s nearby apartment.
"Jianan doesn’t like hospitals. If he wakes up tomorrow and finds himself in one, he’ll tear the hospital apart."
Mu Yunfan spoke in all seriousness, and Tang Yanqi listened, feeling exasperated. By the time Mu Yunfan finished explaining some precautions and left, it was almost three o’clock.
Tang Yanqi stood by Sheng Jianan’s bed for a moment, reached out to pull the quilt over him, and then turned off the lights and left.
Sheng Jianan’s apartment wasn’t small, a three-bedroom two-living room flat, but one room was a gym, one was a study, and one was a bedroom, leaving no extra bed for Tang Yanqi.
Fortunately, the sofa was European style, wide and long enough. Tang Yanqi took a cushion as a pillow, hugged another one in her arms, and fell asleep like that.
She was particular about where she slept, and since it was a sofa and there was no quilt, Tang Yanqi had a restless sleep, feeling both awake and asleep in a daze.
After barely sleeping for three hours, Tang Yanqi got up. After tossing and turning all night without proper rest, coupled with the fact that she had just recovered from an illness, she felt somewhat uncomfortable.
The bedroom door was tightly closed. Tang Yanqi quietly walked to the kitchen and took a look, finding nothing to eat.
Tang Yanqi sighed helplessly, picked up the key Mu Yunfan had left on the shoe cabinet by the door after opening it yesterday, and went out. Although she hadn’t been here before, it was in the city center with convenient transportation; there was a large farmers’ market not far away. Around six o’clock, the market was bustling with farmers trading wholesale. Tang Yanqi bought some rice and vegetables, returned to the apartment, and made a pot of medicinal porridge with the Chinese medicine she had brought from the hospital last night.
Sheng Jianan woke up close to eight o’clock, with his head and stomach aching. He frowned and forced himself to get up. As soon as he opened the bedroom door, he smelled a fresh fragrance, seemingly mixed with a hint of Chinese medicine.
Following the source of the fragrance, Sheng Jianan saw a slender figure; her long hair was casually tied behind her head with a rubber band. Sunlight poured in through the window, turning one side of the girl’s body golden, making her look even thinner.
That waist, slender enough to hold with one hand, and those arms, could probably be snapped with a gentle twist, right?
Why is she here?
Sheng Jianan wanted to step forward, but somehow stopped, as if possessed, quietly watching the scene, serene and cozy, making it hard to interrupt.
Tang Yanqi turned slightly to the side to cut fruit, her attention all on the fruit in her hand, unaware that she had become the subject of someone else’s observation.
Having long, curled eyelashes, Sheng Jianan looked at her profile, serious and focused. Without realizing it, he leaned against the wall, a rare softness appearing in his once bold eyes, a hint of a smile seemingly curling at his lips.
Suddenly, Tang Yanqi let out a low hum. From Sheng Jianan’s perspective, he could clearly see the blade cutting across, fresh blood flowing from Tang Yanqi’s fingertips.
His brow furrowed suddenly, but Tang Yanqi quickly turned on the tap, rinsed it with cold water, then pulled a piece of paper to wrap it up simply, all actions done in one swift motion with no hesitation and no panic.
Two words popped into Sheng Jianan’s mind: Skilled!
She seemed skilled in all this, but how could that be?
