When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster
Chapter 11: If I Get Pregnant, Would You Want This Child?
CHAPTER 11: CHAPTER 11: IF I GET PREGNANT, WOULD YOU WANT THIS CHILD?
"Oh my, oh my!" Facing her friends’ probing questions, Faye Turner was clearly a bit flustered. "As for my husband, I’ll introduce him when I’m free in the future, so don’t ask anymore!"
Faye herself didn’t know much about this man, only knowing that his name was Adrian Lancaster, he owned an apartment at Aqua Flora Residences, and he had a grandfather who doted on him, that’s all.
In the evening, Faye left The Fairy Tale Nook and took the bus back to Aqua Flora Residences.
She guessed that since Grandpa wasn’t around tonight, Adrian Lancaster would definitely have something to discuss with her. She had given him a day, so he should be prepared.
When she arrived home, he was indeed there; she didn’t know if he hadn’t gone out all day.
Seeing Faye return, Adrian Lancaster didn’t ask where she had been, nor did he blame her for leaving without notice.
Rather than saying he had no temper, it was more like he didn’t care.
She had been home for almost an hour, yet Adrian Lancaster hadn’t sought her out.
This was unexpected for Faye, so to ease her mind, she approached him, "Adrian, do you have any prenuptial or postnuptial agreement?"
Upon hearing this question, Adrian Lancaster paused, slightly surprised.
Looking into the girl’s confused, sincere eyes, he said, "I don’t need one; I don’t plan to divorce." After speaking, he turned and walked towards the study.
Leaving her with the tall and slender image from his back, Faye was left stunned.
She had spent the whole day guessing what bizarre conditions he might lay out for her to sign, especially since he understood how dreadful her original family was.
Everyone would think that by being with him, she was after his money.
Yet, he didn’t intend to force her into signing any unequal contract?
This Mr. Lancaster truly was a breath of fresh air in the realm of flash marriages!
That night, when Faye was drowsily asleep, Adrian Lancaster emerged from the study and climbed into her bed, oh no, rather his own bed.
In a state of absolute rationality, he prepared to roll in the sheets with her.
This gave Faye quite a scare!
The girl’s body tensed, her eyes wide staring at him, "You..." In the dim light, his handsome and defined features stood out, cold and striking.
"I’m your husband." His voice was low, warm breath caressing her nose, his eyes deep with interest, "Legally recognized."
With brows furrowed, the girl’s keen instinct told her there was no escape tonight...
"Then if pregnancy happens, do you want this child?" She pressed her hands against his chest, her shiny black eyes filled with panic and seriousness.
The woman’s seaweed-like long hair cascaded down, her delicate and beautiful face made him lose focus momentarily.
Suddenly he understood why he didn’t dislike her as much anymore?
Because she vaguely resembled Sienna in the eyebrows... Thinking of Sienna, Adrian Lancaster felt a painful pull at his heart.
Faye stared at the man’s deep eyes, waiting for his answer.
"Of course I want." Adrian Lancaster gave her the most accurate answer, like a reassurance pill, he said, "Regardless if it’s a boy or a girl, they’ll be the heirs of The Lancaster Family."
Grandpa was still eagerly hoping to hold his great-grandchild.
As his words fell, Adrian Lancaster’s kiss followed...
Faye was utterly awake tonight, hence she couldn’t help but be extremely nervous. The indoor lighting was dark, and moonlight from the window cast onto the bed, filling the air with a hint of ambiguity.
She understood that this was her duty as a wife.
She wanted a companion in old age and didn’t plan on divorcing; if a child served as a bond, the marriage would be stronger, especially since they would have a common goal.
The next morning.
Adrian Lancaster got up early as he had important matters to attend to today.
Standing in front of the bed, dressing in front of her, his honey-tinted skin, the firm and robust lines of his abs, always made Faye blush profusely.
He saved her, saved her mother, and initially wanted to thank him, but since he slept with her, the thanks were stuck in her throat, unable to spill out.
"Adrian, the scar on your left arm, is it from a burn?" Faye snuggled in the quilt, exposing only a small head as she quietly asked.
The man’s coarse, bold eyebrows slightly furrowed, "Don’t ask what’s none of your business." Clearly, this was a topic he didn’t wish to delve into.
He then placed a bank card on the bedside table, his voice deep and clear, "This card is for you, the password is the last six digits, use it as you wish."
"What does use it as you wish mean?" The girl blinked her innocent big eyes, mumbling inquisitively.
Adrian Lancaster stopped and turned his gaze, eyes sweeping coldly and indifferently towards her.
She suppressed a chuckle, intentionally teasing him, "Do you mean ’use it as you wish’ for groceries or ’use it as you wish’ for buying houses and cars?"
