CHAPTER 23: CHAPTER 23: HARASS PRESIDENT LANCASTER AT YOUR OWN RISK
So, she seriously thought about it and complained to him, "I don’t know what your company’s corporate culture is like, but there’s one thing I especially disagree with!"
"Hmm." Adrian Lancaster’s face was calm, "Tell me what it is?"
"For the ’Eternal Glance’ series launching at the end of the year, Director Nancy Jennings won’t let me participate in the design, why is that?"
"Is it because I don’t have a track record? Just assuming I’d drag down the entire design department’s level?"
"May I ask, President Lancaster, who is born with a track record? Do they bring achievements from their past lives?"
"She won’t even let me try, how does she know if my ideas are good?"
Adrian Lancaster patiently listened to her complaints and asked, "Did she tie your hands so you couldn’t make a move?"
"Well... no!" The girl felt awkward.
"If I were you, I’d take my designs to her instead of complaining to the boss."
"But it’s not like you didn’t ask earlier why I’m complaining here, is it?" Faye Turner thought to herself, you’re not giving the go-ahead, how could I dare?
Adrian Lancaster increasingly found this little girl sharp-tongued, evident from how she retorted to Ivy Jennings.
But Faye thought what he said made a lot of sense.
She shouldn’t be confused by anger; she should design first!
Even if Nancy doesn’t look at it, she could bypass her and show it to her husband!
Adrian Lancaster didn’t know why he suddenly started caring about her, his mind conflicted, thinking of her as a stand-in, but she wasn’t.
So, he got up to leave.
"By the way, Grandpa called me today." The girl grabbed a pillow to cover her embarrassment.
She changed the topic, "He said I should arrange a meeting between both families."
"I’m not available." The man looked at her, his eyes indifferent.
The girl smiled, "That’s what I told your grandpa too."
But Adrian Lancaster knew that with Grandpa’s insistence, this formality was bound to happen sooner or later, so he said, "Saturday then."
"Hmm, that’s what I told Grandpa too." The girl sitting cross-legged on the sofa smiled at him.
Adrian Lancaster was slightly stunned, focusing on her for a brief moment.
Faye Turner’s smile was gentle, and Adrian Lancaster’s gaze softened as he turned to leave.
That night, Adrian Lancaster couldn’t sleep. With work being hectic recently, there were significant personnel changes in the company, all decisions he had carefully considered.
Some people couldn’t adapt, some were forced to accept it, and some came to him to plead, leaving him exhausted.
The girl lay quietly beside him, recalling the man’s handsome face and perfect figure, her heart racing uncontrollably.
She secretly glanced at him, only to see him resting his hands behind his head, seemingly trying to relax with his eyes closed?
This reminded Faye of his arm injury, and she needed time to find some herbal remedies.
Though he was the president of the group, he must have troubles beyond the understanding of ordinary people, right?
Mom finally mustered the courage to agree to divorce Vincent Turner, and Faye originally wanted to ask Adrian Lancaster if he knew a good lawyer.
Because a straightforward divorce, Vincent Turner would definitely not agree to it.
This must be taken to court.
But seeing Adrian’s exhaustion, Faye swallowed her words; she had to find another time to bring it up.
Though he might not agree anyway.
The next morning.
The Lamborghini arrived at the entrance of the Prestige Group, and just as Adrian Lancaster got out, Vincent Turner rushed out, "Are you Faye Turner’s husband?"
Adrian Lancaster looked at him with an unchanged expression, not answering his question, his tall figure exuding extraordinary aura.
"I’m her father!" Vincent Turner presented himself loftily, "You didn’t pay a bride price, yet you took my daughter away, one million as a set price! I can overlook your impudence!"
At this moment, several bodyguards emerged, and Adrian Lancaster raised his hand in a simple gesture, stopping them at the steps.
Vincent Turner glared at him, convinced he could extort money from him!
After all, he was the president of the Prestige Group.
At that moment, Faye Turner had just gotten off the bus and was walking toward them, coincidentally witnessing this scene, her heart skipped heavily as she ran forward!
"My wife said, not to indulge you." Adrian Lancaster was well aware of his background and intentions, "Sorry, I’m under strict control by my wife."
After speaking, he strode towards the company lobby.
Vincent Turner’s reaction time caught up, he was about to chase after but was stopped by several bodyguards, "Harassing President Lancaster, proceed at your own risk!"
