CHAPTER 24: CHAPTER 24: THE HERO RESCUES THE BEAUTY BUT HURTS HIS HAND

The bodyguard’s eyes were sharp like knives, instantly clearing Vincent Turner’s mind. This was not a place for him to cause trouble. As the head of the Prestige Group, how could he be easily manipulated?

Seems like he has to deal with that girl, Faye Turner, first.

Just as Vincent Turner turned around, Faye Turner quickly approached him, "What are you doing here?"

"Faye Turner, are you ignoring my words?! The one million? When are you going to have it ready for me?"

Vincent Turner angrily grabbed the girl’s collar, reaching for her bag, "You’ve been freeloading off me for years, and you think you can just sever ties? No way!"

"What are you doing? Let go! Release me!" She was anxious, especially since they were at the company entrance and she didn’t want to be the subject of gossip.

The bodyguards didn’t intervene, as they were unsure of the relationship between the president and this girl, not knowing she was Mrs. Lancaster.

At this moment, a silver Bentley came to a stop not far away.

The car door opened, and Dustin Shepherd stepped out. Young and handsome, he wore a white shirt and black straight trousers, simple yet fashionable, looking very polished.

As he closed the car door, he saw the two people struggling in the distance. When he recognized the girl’s profile, there was a moment of hesitation.

Faye Turner?

Then, despite his still healing arm, Dustin Shepherd quickly moved forward, "Let her go!"

He stepped in to break the fight, causing Vincent Turner to get even angrier, and soon the two men were brawling.

"Stop it, stop it!" Faye Turner was frightened and hadn’t even realized who the other party was. She began trying to break them up again.

At this point, the bodyguards at the entrance saw that one of the parties was Assistant Shepherd, so they quickly came over to help. Vincent Turner was firmly restrained and warned before being chased away!

"Ouch!" Dustin Shepherd clutched his arm in pain.

"Are you alright?" Faye Turner was very worried, "What happened to your arm?" When she looked up, she saw his sunny handsome face clearly for the first time.

"Dustin Shepherd??" She was surprised and stared at him incredulously!

Despite his painful arm, the man was pleased that, after all these years, the girl recognized him.

His heart was filled with joy, "Faye Turner, you actually remember me!"

Scenes from their high school days flashed vividly in his mind; they were classmates, and Faye Turner was Dustin Shepherd’s first love, the one he had quietly guarded and secretly admired.

On the night of high school graduation, he mustered the courage to confess to her, but she gently declined.

Graduation meant parting, and they hadn’t seen each other since.

But soon the pain in his arm struck Dustin Shepherd, causing him to furrow his brow in pain, "Ouch..."

"Let me take a look." With that, Faye Turner rolled up his sleeve directly, "Did you fracture it?"

"You can tell that?" Dustin Shepherd was surprised, "I just recovered from a fracture."

"It must have cracked again. You need to go to the hospital for an X-ray," Faye Turner advised him, "Let’s go to the hospital now. If it’s not properly treated, it could seriously affect your health."

Seeing her so concerned about him made Dustin Shepherd happy, "Will you come with me?"

"Of course, I’ll go with you!" After all, he was injured because of her.

So, Faye Turner accompanied Dustin Shepherd to the hospital, and she called Director Peterson to take the day off.

An hour later, in the hospital ward.

The sunshine-infused Dustin Shepherd sat on the bed, having already had an X-ray, and his arm was once again cast in a plaster.

He looked at the girl sitting in the chair in front of the bed, seriously peeling an apple for him, and felt a peacefulness in time.

"You must rest properly. If it cracks again, it won’t be this easy!" Her voice was sweet, and she felt a bit anxious for him.

The girl’s eyes, bright and dark as night, gave him a sense of long-lost familiarity, precious memories from youth.

Dustin Shepherd felt that everything that happened today seemed like a dream, as if fate had arranged for them to meet again.

"Do you work at Prestige Group too?" As Faye Turner peeled the apple, she occasionally glanced up at him, "I’m in the design department. Today is my second day at work, still in the probation period. What about you?"

The man was very happy, "I am Assistant to President Lancaster, in the president’s office."
