When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster
Chapter 4: Moving In Together
CHAPTER 4: CHAPTER 4: MOVING IN TOGETHER
The old man looked at his precious grandson again and instructed, "Adrian, you need to be more tolerant towards Faye. You’re responsible for earning money to support the family, don’t flirt outside. As time goes by, you’ll find that your wife will become increasingly gentle and kind, more and more considerate of you. Someday, you’ll realize you’ve married a treasure."
"Mm." He replied perfunctorily.
The old man, displeased, asked sternly, "What kind of attitude is that?"
"Rest assured, Grandpa, I’ve remembered." To please his grandfather, Adrian Lancaster quickly changed his tone, with a smile on his face, "I know what to do."
Only then did the old man smile again, satisfied with his precious grandson’s response.
Even if he can’t manage it, I’ll make sure he does!
When the old man looked at his granddaughter-in-law, his face bore a kind smile, growing more and more fond of her.
"Faye, if Adrian doesn’t treat you well, tell Grandpa. Grandpa will deal with him!"
The girl couldn’t respond easily, pursing her lips.
Then Grandpa added, "Adrian has been smart since childhood, he’ll work hard. He may not be doing so well now, but he’ll definitely become more family-oriented and love you more in the future."
"Grandpa." The girl smiled and nodded, "I trust him."
There was no trace of marital joy on Adrian Lancaster’s elegant face, but seeing his grandfather in good spirits, he felt relieved.
Contrarily, Grandpa couldn’t contain his inner joy, "People live holding onto their spirit, without it we’re just a candle in the wind."
The old man released their hands and looked at the young couple in front of the bed, feeling very pleased as he said, "Seeing you together brings joy to my heart, I can surely live another 20 years! If I’m lucky, I might even see your children get married! So you must let Grandpa have a great-grandchild soon! That’s my greatest wish now."
Adrian Lancaster felt ten thousand refusals inside but placated the old man with warm words.
Faye stood aside, mindful of the situation, wanting to reassure Grandpa and not displease Adrian Lancaster, after all she was counting on him to save her mom.
"By the way, Faye, have you moved in with him?" Grandpa asked earnestly, considering it an important matter.
Adrian Lancaster quickly replied, "I have."
"Good, good, that’s great." The old man smiled broadly.
Grandpa’s condition improved, the doctor said he could be discharged tomorrow.
Adrian Lancaster initially wanted to stay and accompany Grandpa, but was directly shooed away by the old man, "On your wedding night, how can you spend it in a hospital? Don’t you know who to be with?"
Walking out of the hospital lobby with Faye, Adrian Lancaster stopped on the steps, "Your mom will be picked up to the downstairs of your rented place, you just wait there. Also, move in with me quickly, I’m worried Grandpa might check."
Having said that, he stepped towards his Lamborghini, not worried she wouldn’t comply.
Faye hadn’t even reacted before the car drove off.
On the taxi ride back to her rented place, she reconfirmed that Adrian Lancaster had thoroughly investigated her.
He even knew where she lived.
Well, she didn’t have to muster the courage to confess the family mess to him now.
Yet in front of him, she felt nakedly exposed.
And he was so elusive; she only knew his name and that he had a grandfather who mattered a lot to him.
This definitely wasn’t just having a house, a car, and a stable job.
Could he be some kind of gang leader?
The car arrived, and just as she got off, she saw Chloe Gable with a suitcase, her hair messy and forehead injured, looking quite disheveled.
"Mom!"
Faye hurriedly ran towards her, "Mom, how are you?" The mother and daughter hugged tightly!
Bringing her mother back to the rented place, Faye quickly took out a medicine box to treat the wound on her forehead.
Her tone carried a maturity beyond her years, "Mom, from today you’ll stay here. Anyway, Vincent Turner doesn’t know the exact location, just focus on taking Milo to school, senior high’s last year is crucial for him."
"What about you? Where will you stay if we’re living here?" Chloe Gable looked at her worriedly, "Your dad took 200,000 from them, I fear it’s not over."
Faye had a hunch it was over.
She took out the marriage certificate, "I have somewhere to live. I unintentionally overheard when he made that call last night, so I’m married."
"What?!" Her mother was shocked, quickly grabbed the paper to look, full of disbelief, "Got the certificate today? Who did you marry? Who is Adrian Lancaster? Is this person reliable? You can’t just marry yourself off so casually because of this!"
