Adrian Lancaster leaned lightly against the back of the chair, capturing the subtle change in Dustin Shepherd’s expression.

"High school classmates." Dustin Shepherd answered frankly.

Dustin Shepherd shook his head, "I have feelings for her. On the night before graduation, I confessed and was rejected. After that, we lost contact, and met again that morning at the company entrance."

Dustin Shepherd shook his head, "I don’t know. The information on the groom in the marriage certificate she sent me was obscured, but she’s indeed married."

Adrian Lancaster could see his immense sadness, probably spending a night without being able to digest this fact.

But President Lancaster felt suddenly relieved, though his expression did not change much, emotions unexpressed.

"Alright, I know, you may proceed with your work." He still sounded cold.

"Then..." Dustin Shepherd looked at the material in his hand, uncertainly asked, "Should I continue investigating?"

"No need." Adrian Lancaster replied, with a casual, unintentional smile appearing at the corner of his lips, which he himself didn’t notice, but Dustin Shepherd saw and was somewhat puzzled.
