When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster
Chapter 7: Grandpa Is the Person He Cares About Most
CHAPTER 7: CHAPTER 7: GRANDPA IS THE PERSON HE CARES ABOUT MOST
"Grandpa, I’ll go cook the dumplings, you guys chat." Faye Turner took a plate of dumplings from the table and headed to the kitchen.
The old man criticized Adrian Lancaster right in front of her, which made her feel quite awkward.
Grandpa looked at his grandson and reminded him reproachfully, "What are you standing there for? Go in and help out! Really drives me crazy!"
Adrian Lancaster didn’t want to upset his grandpa, so he went into the kitchen.
He was also embarrassed, "Um... do you need any help?"
"No need, just cooking dumplings, it will be done soon." Faye Turner said to him while boiling water, "You should go out and accompany grandpa."
This left Adrian Lancaster feeling like he neither belonged inside nor outside, a bit like a bounced ball.
After a while, the old man saw him come out again, "Grandpa, she said she doesn’t need help."
The old man didn’t scold him, he just said, "She might not let you help, but you must take the initiative to help, understand? That’s the way to get along as a couple."
Adrian Lancaster disliked hearing those last few words, but he could only nod, "Yes, grandpa is always right."
Sitting on the sofa, the old man, leaning on a cane and looking serious, said in a matchmaking manner, "When I came over, I saw her making dumplings for you, probably busy all afternoon. She put them in the fridge saying they’re for your midnight snack, afraid you’re working too hard."
Finally, the old man added, "A wife as good as Faye Turner, you won’t find even with a lantern, cherish her well!"
Adrian Lancaster was slightly taken aback, he turned and opened the fridge, inside he saw not just sorted bags of dumplings, but lots of ingredients, neatly packed.
Mushrooms, tofu, tomatoes, corn, chicken, fish, meat...
To be honest, his hardened heart felt a small touch.
Because he hadn’t felt family warmth for many years, he always longed for this kind of earthly life.
"Dumplings are ready!"
A girl wearing an apron soon came out with a bowl of dumplings from the kitchen, he quickly closed the fridge door.
"Adrian Lancaster! Hurry up and help serve!" Grandpa’s sharp eyes told him again, really drives you nuts! This blockhead won’t understand!
The man walked to the kitchen and soon came out with two bowls of dumplings.
Faye Turner also brought over chopsticks, "Come and taste my cooking skills!" She was sure, tonight was the first time the kitchen was being used.
The dumplings smelled delicious, cooked just right, each one cleanly floating in the broth, looking quite nice.
Especially since Faye Turner had made them herself, grandpa kept praising them, "Dumplings are really tasty, but today is your wedding registration day, Adrian Lancaster, you have to take Faye out for a good meal when you have time!"
"Okay, grandpa." He agreed.
Adrian Lancaster sat beside grandpa, the dumpling tasted good, but his heart was in a jumble.
Because he recalled an experience from 18 years ago, when he was 5 years old, his heart faintly ached where the dumplings were concerned.
For the last 18 years, he hasn’t eaten dumplings.
"I didn’t know which filling you like, so I made four kinds, but grandpa said you have no dietary restrictions, so today I cooked the mushroom ones." Faye Turner’s attitude towards him was okay.
He saved her, and also saved her mother, she felt grateful towards him.
"Mm." Adrian Lancaster originally planned to be perfunctory, but thinking grandpa was there, he quickly added, "It’s pretty good, I like it very much."
When he said this, Old Master Lancaster couldn’t be happier, "If you like them then ask your wife to make more! Treat her well, and she’ll be willing to do more!"
This grandpa how come still like this... Alas, better to speak less in the future.
After finishing the dumplings, the old man looked at his grandson who was getting up, "Adrian Lancaster, go wash the dishes! Faye cooked the dumplings, this marriage and life, household chores have to be shared to make life good!"
Adrian Lancaster was taken aback for a moment, "Okay." So he started to tidy up the tableware.
"Grandpa..."
"Faye, you don’t talk, let him wash!"
Overall, Adrian Lancaster would never go against grandpa, in this world who he cares about most is grandpa.
Faye Turner could only watch this handsome and perfect-looking man.
He was exceptionally tall, his well-defined fingers picked up the bowls on the table and walked towards the kitchen, somehow he seemed out of place with the earthly life.
"Faye, come quickly and sit with grandpa for a chat!"
The old man pulled the girl who wanted to help into the couch to sit down, and quietly said, "Don’t feel sorry for him, a man doing housework should be cultivated from the first day of marriage, otherwise he’ll think serving him is what you should do!"
