When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster
Chapter 729: Filing a Complaint
CHAPTER 729: CHAPTER 729: FILING A COMPLAINT
Just then, Mr. Fletcher, dressed impeccably, stepped out of the villa with his long strides. As usual, he walked towards the entrance and happened to witness this scene.
Two strangers had arrived at the entrance, negotiating about something unknown.
"Mr. Fletcher." The attendant at the door respectfully greeted him, "These two said they needed to see you, it’s an urgent matter concerning Young Master’s future happiness."
But Mr. Fletcher looked at them again, not recognizing them at all, nor having seen them before.
Judging by their attire, demeanor, and behavior, they were not from the same social circle. What did these people have to do with his son’s happiness?
"You are...?" Mr. Fletcher spoke, a hint of doubt on his face as he focused his gaze on the two individuals.
A minute later, Mr. Shaw and Mrs. Shaw followed Mr. Fletcher into the villa’s living room.
Upon entering, they were taken aback by the decor, even the air was filled with the scent of money.
A servant brought tea.
"What did you just say? My son is with your daughter-in-law?" Mr. Fletcher sat down on the sofa, raising his eyes to ask calmly, "Are you sure it’s my son?" Clearly, he was skeptical.
"Chase Fletcher is your son, right?" Mrs. Shaw asked with a smile.
Mr. Fletcher was slightly stunned.
Then Mrs. Shaw showed him a photo on her phone of a car’s license plate, "This is your son’s car, isn’t it?"
The composure and calmness had vanished from Mr. Fletcher’s face.
"This car was parked below my daughter-in-law’s building! The two were inseparable, turning my son’s marriage into utter chaos!"
Mrs. Shaw noticed Mr. Fletcher’s expression change slightly, growing a bit serious and solemn. When he saw the license plate on the phone, his brow furrowed tightly.
Then Mrs. Shaw kept signaling to Mr. Shaw with her eyes, hoping he would also say something.
At this moment, Mr. Shaw spoke, "Currently, it’s my son and daughter-in-law who are getting a divorce, and amidst the couple’s conflicts, my son was taken away by the police while my daughter-in-law openly got entangled with your son."
"After all, family scandals shouldn’t be spread, but... how many parents wouldn’t wish for their children’s little families to be harmonious?"
"Mr. Fletcher, we can’t control this daughter-in-law; her character is abysmal, but your son seems like a good person. You really need to manage him."
Hearing this, Mr. Fletcher’s face gradually turned somber. When he looked up at Mr. and Mrs. Shaw, he just said, "I understand. Is there anything else?"
Such a nonchalant tone?
Understood?
The Shaw couple was a bit perplexed, weren’t they angry? Weren’t they anxious or furious?
Just as Mr. and Mrs. Shaw thought they should stoke the fire a bit more, footsteps came from the staircase.
The two turned their eyes at the sound, only to see Chase Fletcher appear on the stairs, dressed in a suit and tie, coldly staring at the Shaw parents sitting on the sofa.
He had heard everything just now.
The Shaw couple’s hearts tightened!! He was still home?? Instantly, the couple felt guilty.
Chase walked down the stairs step by step, his cold and intense gaze fixed on them, until he reached the sofa before withdrawing his gaze and greeted his father, "Dad."
Mr. Fletcher nodded, not saying anything, noticing the faces of the complaining couple had already lost their composure.
"Do you not know how long your son and daughter-in-law have been divorced?" Chase sat down beside his father, making tea for himself while raising his eyes to ask, "Do you have any idea why they divorced?"
Mrs. Shaw felt very guilty, but she feigned calm, "Young Master Fletcher, Rachel divorced and has a child, why must it be her for you?"
"That’s my business, none of your concern." Chase said with an angry look, "Unable to trouble Rachel, you actually came to my home? Shouldn’t you be praying to the heavens for a reduced sentence for your precious son now?"
