CHAPTER 747: CHAPTER 747: STANDING UP TO INJUSTICE

Rachel Sherman was in a rush too, but since she captured the truth, how could she ignore it and turn a blind eye?

While the driver was explaining to the lady, and the ’hit’ woman kept howling for compensation.

"Move aside, move aside, please! Let me take another shot!"

Rachel came out of the crowd holding her stabilizer, bending over and slowly adjusting angles, zooming her camera right onto the woman’s face in front of the car—

"I just happened to catch how this accident occurred, now let’s capture how the money is being swindled. When I upload it online, you’ll be famous! A sure little internet celebrity!"

"You, you... what nonsense are you spouting?!" The woman, guilty and anxious, glared at Rachel, one hand clutching the driver’s leg and the other reaching for Rachel’s filming gear.

"I am a journalist! I’m not talking nonsense! I filmed the entire scam process! If you don’t believe me, check online later! You’ll be first on the social trending list! Guaranteed it’s you!"

As the woman’s expression changed and she hesitated guiltily, the driver seized the chance to shake off her grip, stepping back in disdain.

"Come on, come on, continue to extort money! Tell us quickly, where does it hurt? Want to go have a check-up in the hospital?" Rachel, holding the stabilizer, continued to bend over and film her face.

This sparked a flurry of discussions among the crowd—

"Turns out it’s a scam?"

"Damn!"

The woman finally couldn’t keep her composure, covering her face with her hand, scrambling to get up, "You little brat! Just you wait for me!" and almost fled helter-skelter!

Only then did the onlookers confirm it was truly a scam!

It was exactly like witnessing a clown’s performance!

Rachel, being a journalist, smiled while aiming the stabilizer at the retreating figure, the woman ran so fast, she even lost a shoe.

And the elegant and noble lady by the car, when looking at the righteous Rachel, her eyes were gleaming; this girl was indeed interesting.

"Thank you." The driver bowed towards Rachel.

Only then did Rachel react, putting away her gear, she replied, "It’s nothing, I happened to catch it, let’s call it fate."

Then Rachel offered the lady a slight smile, turned around, and walked towards the other side of the crosswalk.

"Madam, please get in the car." The driver opened the car door.

As the noble lady got into the car, she still turned her eyes through the car window, looking at the figure across the street.

Somehow, this girl just managed to shine brightly in front of others.

She even thought, if Chase could be with her, how wonderful would it be? Beautiful, kind-hearted, brave to do what’s right.

Unfortunately, Chase is involved with a twice-married woman... thinking about this matter gave her a headache as a mother.

For a twice-married woman, the most consideration is not emotions, but interests.

Finding a man with a solid economic base to help raise her child, and if things don’t work out, she can leave just like her first marriage, with absolutely no responsibility.

Rachel met Granny Hughes just before she left, her hair was silvery, kind and approachable, leading her into the courtyard.

This was a relatively retro, pastoral-style small building, with pale blue doors and windows, and some dried flower bouquets hanging down the walls.

The courtyard was full of small chubby cats, well-fed and particularly adorable, just like in a cat café.

"Granny, your courtyard smells so nice, is it the scent of jasmine?" Rachel squatted down to film the little cats and immediately caught the scent.

The old lady replied with a beaming smile, "Yes, that plant is jasmine."

Rachel turned her eyes, following the direction of the old lady’s hand, smiled and said, "This year’s blooming season came much earlier."

"Yes, it’s mainly because my courtyard has plenty of sunlight."

Rachel patted the little cats, also gave the jasmine plant a close-up shot, and specifically interviewed the old lady. This interview was very successful.
