CHAPTER 750: CHAPTER 750: DADDY DADDY DADDY DADDY DADDY

Rachel Sherman has always been a very independent woman, and she shares many similarities with Faye Turner, both of them being the kind of sunflower women who are soft on the outside but strong on the inside.

The failure of her marriage made her grow up overnight and gave her more insights into life.

Her specialty dish is braised fish, and coincidentally, there was one in the fridge, already cleaned, scaled, and marinated for a day.

She also prepared scallions, ginger, and garlic, skillfully and without hesitation, and she looked very nice with her apron on and her hair tied up in a bun.

An independent woman truly has great charm.

"Need any help?" Chase Fletcher squatted at the door, accompanying June in her walker, holding her little hand, and as the smell of cooking oil wafted through the air, his stomach actually started to growl a bit.

"No need, President Fletcher, you should go rest, no need to stand watch here!" She said with a bright smile, worried the smell might cling to his expensive suit.

But Chase was concerned that the oil smoke might not be good for the child. "Alright then, I’ll just wait to eat, hard work there, Reporter Sherman!" And with that, he amused the child in the walker and walked away.

"June, come over here, this way! Look over here!" He picked up a rattle, shook it at the little one, and let go of her hand.

Hearing the sound, June kicked her little legs, happily running towards him, her laughter especially adorable.

Those little legs sure were strong, it was the perfect time to practice walking.

"Uncle!" Chase patiently taught her pronunciation, "Uncle."

"Daddy! Daddy, daddy, daddy..." Unexpectedly, the little one kept calling out "daddy."

This left Chase stunned, he hadn’t taught her that! But it did make him truly happy inside!

"Daddy, daddy, daddy..." It was that tender, sweet voice, freshly learning to speak, really very pleasant to hear!

Soon, Rachel had finished making the braised fish, along with a few other home-cooked dishes. When she brought them to the table, they were truly a feast for the senses, with the aroma of the food filling the air.

June in her walker was happily playing with the rattle, even when she saw her mom, she didn’t ask to be picked up.

"Chase, quickly wash your hands and let’s eat." Saying that, Rachel served him some rice, "Try my cooking, see how many points you’d give it?"

"Full marks!" He answered as he came out with washed hands before even taking a seat.

Rachel smiled sweetly and handed over the chopsticks, "You’re cheating!" and then sat down across from him.

"It’s genuinely full marks! I always think any woman who knows how to cook is excellent," Chase said cheerfully to her, "Lately, I’ve been seeing you on the news, you’re such a hotshot award-winning journalist, the future is bright."

"There’s a typhoon at the end of the month, the editor-in-chief wants me to go to the seaside to do some live reporting," Rachel said calmly, "I’ve accepted the job."

This actually startled Chase, something flickered in his eyes, "Can you not go? It’s so dangerous, who is your editor-in-chief?"

"Oh please, if I don’t go, someone else will have to, someone has to go, right?" Rachel said, "I’ve got experience, I’ve covered something similar once before."

"Does experiencing one natural disaster actually count as experience?" he was genuinely worried, "You were just lucky not to be swept away by the wind."

"Alright, it’s a problem for the end of the month, what if the forecast is wrong and the typhoon doesn’t make landfall on our coast?"

"It’s almost certain, but I don’t want you to go," he said directly, "I’m worried about you."

She was very touched, feeling that he was so worried he might not even be able to eat.
