When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster
Chapter 79: President Lancaster Got Married
CHAPTER 79: CHAPTER 79: PRESIDENT LANCASTER GOT MARRIED
Soon someone handled the accident, rescued the daring scapegoat, and swiftly took her away from the scene.
Watching her leave, Ivy Jennings secretly breathed a sigh of relief, hoping this matter would end here and Adrian Lancaster wouldn’t pursue it.
Faye Turner seized the moment, waiting for Ivy Jennings to go to the restroom, and she followed her in.
At the sink, the two women met, washing their hands on the left and right, their eyes meeting in the mirror.
"Secretary Jennings, do you think there are surveillance cameras by the pool?" Faye Turner had discerned her mischief earlier, and asked, "Do you think we can find that waitress again?"
Ivy’s beautiful eyes flashed with a hint of guilt, fearing Faye might press charges, after all, she was favored by Mr. Mark.
"Faye." Ivy’s demeanor was cold. She pretended not to understand, "Why are you asking me? This matter isn’t my responsibility."
"Don’t pretend you don’t understand." Faye turned her gaze towards her.
Outside the restroom, Adrian Lancaster, with his hands in his pockets, listened openly to their conversation, his face tense.
Each word landed clearly in his ears.
"Disappointed, aren’t you?" Faye smiled, "The plan didn’t work out. I suggest you find a smarter partner next time."
"I don’t understand what you’re saying." Ivy stubbornly refused to admit it and coldly warned, "Faye, don’t slander me. I didn’t instruct anyone to do anything to you."
"I didn’t say you did." Faye turned around to dry her hands, "Whether you did or didn’t is clear in your heart. I’m just reminding you, don’t walk alone at night if you’ve done too many bad things."
Ivy was furious!
This wretched girl dodged embarrassment once and still dares to flaunt it here?!
"Faye, don’t get too happy too soon. No matter day or night, you’d better be careful when you walk."
"Is that an admission?" The girl turned her eyes to her, lazily speaking, then smiled, "You like Adrian Lancaster so much, does he know?"
Ivy said nothing.
A brief silence drifted from the restroom, while outside, the man looked intently, his handsome face calm, his thoughts unknown.
"By the way." Soon, Faye’s relaxed and cheerful voice came through, "I should remind you of one thing, your president seems... to be married, because he wore a wedding ring tonight."
Ivy intended to refute, saying don’t talk nonsense here!
But what she said was verifiable detail, Ivy did not refute, just looked incredulous.
Outside, Adrian Lancaster’s gaze was deep, his thin lips pressed into a line, his expression... not very nice.
Soon, Faye came out, almost bumping into him!
The girl stopped abruptly, raising her eyes quickly, her chest tightened as she sensed the man’s coldness and aloofness.
She hurried past him and left quickly.
When Ivy came out, Adrian was no longer outside. Her mind flashed with the details Faye had mentioned earlier.
Did the president wear a wedding ring? She hadn’t noticed.
In the banquet hall, Adrian Lancaster brought a piece of cake to her, handing her a silver fork, "Want to try?"
Ivy wasn’t surprised, her gaze fell on his wedding ring, and she was entirely numb!
Just staring, staring in disbelief, holding her breath... it was like a bolt from the blue!
The man took in her shocked expression completely, patiently waiting for her to digest the fact.
Yes, he was married, and he didn’t want to hide it.
At least, he had to let Ivy Jennings know.
"..." Ivy was stunned, her face pallid, gawking at his wedding ring, her beautiful eyes full of disappointment.
