CHAPTER 887: CHAPTER 887: SOME REJOICE WHILE OTHERS GRIEVE

Staring at her for so long, Nathan Xavier’s gentle eyes showed not a hint of disdain.

No one knew what he was thinking. Seemingly lost in thought, he envisioned scenes he hoped would happen.

He pondered, if fate were truly kind, if his sister could appear in such a miraculous way as well...

Wouldn’t this world be as beautiful as a fairy tale?

For all these years, he had missed his missing sister every moment.

He had sent countless resources and efforts to search, yet there was no progress... How he wished she would suddenly appear one day.

However, he also felt that his sister might no longer be in this world, perhaps reincarnated as a lively and adorable child now.

"Thank you for your hard work, sir." Nathan Xavier snapped back to reality and, before leaving the room, expressed his gratitude once more, "I’ll leave you to it, sir. Please, continue." With that, he turned and left.

After dinner, night had fallen.

A white car drove into the Xavier Estate, and a servant providing 24-hour service in the parking lot stepped forward to open the door, "Good evening, Miss."

Dressed elegantly, Rhiannon Xavier stepped out of the car with her bag, "Is my brother back?" she asked expectantly and immediately spotted the Maybach parked not far away.

"The young master has returned."

She joyfully walked inside, having just returned from a friend’s birthday celebration, fully satiated and in excellent spirits!

In a few days, she would be going abroad again and, glancing at the starry sky, she couldn’t help but feel nostalgic about the fleetingness of time. She was a bit reluctant to leave.

When she heard the servant who went fishing at noon say that they had brought back a seriously injured girl, she halted, visibly stunned, "A girl? Where is she?" A bit of panic welled up inside her.

To rescue a girl in such a grand family, what could it mean? She was fully aware!

It meant this girl might be attracted to the Xavier Family’s status, refuse to leave, and fall in love with someone as outstanding as Nathan Xavier!

Upon reaching the doorway, she too caught a strong scent of traditional medicine and saw Old Mr. Downey busy inside, with the table full of various herbs.

"Good evening, sir." She smiled as she walked toward the elderly gentleman.

The white-haired elder, who was preparing the herbal medicine, glanced up at her and treated her with respect as well, "Good evening, Miss Xavier."

Rhiannon Xavier looked at the girl lying on the bed, "I heard we have a guest at home today." She was startled by the girl’s appearance, "Sir, her face..."

"It’s disfigured."

"..." Rhiannon Xavier simply stared, her mood gradually calming.

Her worries suddenly lessened; being so ugly, even if she woke up, would Nathan really fall for her?

Thus, with a smile, she seemingly asked out of concern, "Is she... seriously injured? When will she regain consciousness?"

The elder sighed lightly and answered truthfully, "Severely. As for when she will wake up, it’s still uncertain. Whether she can make it through the critical period is the main concern."

Looking up at Miss Xavier, he softly added, "She’s dying."

A slight jolt passed through Rhiannon Xavier’s heart. Though her smile faded, internally she felt relaxed, even happy.

"Thank you for your efforts, goodbye." With that, she turned and left; this place was truly gloomy!

If she doesn’t wake up, just let her lie there! After all, there are plenty of rooms in the Xavier household!

If she does wake up, she would urge her to leave quickly! Rhiannon Xavier had already made up her mind.
