CHAPTER 889: CHAPTER 889: AN ACCEPTED FACT

Nathan Xavier turned his eyes at the sound, his gaze landing on the girl. He looked at her as she came over to stand in front of him, his gaze indifferent.

"Brother!" she called with a smile, her voice playful and cheerful.

Under the pure, brilliant moonlight, Nathan saw the girl’s eyes brimming with joy, dark and sparkling, filled with love.

He withdrew his gaze and continued to look at the sky, asking her, "Have you booked your ticket?"

"I’m not leaving." The girl blurted out and said with a smile, "So you don’t need to drive me to the airport tomorrow, you can take care of your own things!"

The man was slightly dazed, looking at her again, his handsome eyebrows slightly furrowed, "Why aren’t you leaving?" His demeanor seemed to wish for her to leave.

The girl met her brother’s gaze, her mind turning quickly, the smile on her lips beautiful and bright, "Mother said she missed me a lot, so I plan to stay and spend more time with her!" See, how filial I am!

"..." Nathan Xavier was slightly dazed, thoughtfully withdrawing his gaze again, raising his eyes to the sky, and said nothing more.

Rhiannon Xavier linked her arm through his naturally and leaned together against the rockery, raising her eyes to look at the dazzling night sky.

The man gently unlocked her hand, "It’s getting late, you should rest early." After speaking, he stepped away.

"Brother!" The girl was very emotional, restraining her voice but calling out firmly to the departing figure.

The man halted his steps, his brow gently twisted, not turning back, and quickly walked forward without looking back, disappearing from her sight within seconds.

Staring in the direction he left, Rhiannon Xavier couldn’t understand why despite becoming so outstanding herself, she couldn’t get into his heart!

Between them, it was clearly an intimate relationship, living in the same house, much better than those women outside who lined up wanting to marry him. At least she had the advantage of being close.

Yet this enviable relationship made her feel that she was not even as good as a small employee in his company...

He was gentle and gentlemanly to everyone, yet to her, he was so distant, indifferent, as he had been for twenty years.

Rhiannon Xavier couldn’t figure out where the problem lay.

That night, she was sleepless, recalling the little bits of integration into The Xavier Family over the years, all the moments spent with him, she felt so happy.

But why couldn’t he love her? What was he worried about?

Rhiannon Xavier believed in her charm, there were indeed many men wanting to date her, both domestically and abroad.

Nathan Xavier had no reason not to like her.

Argent, it has been more than a month since Faye’s accident.

Caleb Lancaster and Eliza Hayes, upon seeing the news abroad, rushed back in a hurry.

Their arrival might not be helpful in finding Faye Turner, but they could take care of Joy and Adrian.

The salvage operation on the river was still ongoing... The fervor of the news hadn’t subsided, but everyone was becoming somewhat numb, perhaps from the depth and length of the pain.

The golden 72 hours have passed, and although there has been no news of Mrs. Lancaster Faye Turner’s whereabouts, the media and the public have generally assumed she is already dead, that there will be no good news.

In fact, in the hearts of The Lancasters, they have defaulted to this as well, only unwilling to accept it.

Adrian Lancaster hadn’t returned to work since the accident.

He became very disheartened, facing the empty master bedroom every day, with his mind constantly flashing back to the moments spent with Faye.

Every time he lay on this bed, he would toss and turn, holding the quilt and smelling her lingering scent, refusing to let the servant take it for washing.

Chloe Gable and Milo Turner moved back to their home a week ago, and everyone silently accepted this brutal reality, needing to continue with life.
