When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster
Chapter 89: It Must Have Been Adrian Lancaster
CHAPTER 89: CHAPTER 89: IT MUST HAVE BEEN ADRIAN LANCASTER
"Patient?" Adrian Lancaster was unwilling to admit he was ill. "Please mind your words, Mrs. Lancaster. Your husband is in perfect health."
Faye Turner didn’t argue with him. "Alright, alright, whatever you say." After all, the fact that he was willing to trust her was an exceptionally rare thing.
The woman’s greatest wish was to heal his injuries, unravel the knots in his heart, and strive for a good life after marriage.
The burn scar on his arm, though twenty years old, had healed and no longer hurt, yet it still looked unsettling.
For Adrian Lancaster to show it to her openly indicated his father’s importance in his heart, and also showed he was gradually lowering his guard with Faye.
Faye deliberately tied up her hair, bent slightly, and carefully applied medicine to his arm with a small spatula.
The brown homemade ointment had a light fragrance and felt cool when applied to the arm.
"When can we see the effects?" Adrian Lancaster’s handsome face remained calm, his tone indifferent.
The girl did not stop her actions and replied softly, "This is just the first application, let’s observe after three days."
His expression cooled a bit, "You’re not confident?"
Faye looked at him, "When a doctor performs surgery on a patient, why do they always need the family to sign? A doctor does his best, but he’s not a god."
Their gazes met, and Adrian Lancaster seemed to have no other options.
She claimed to be a disciple of Dr. Downey, but without proof, she could only demonstrate through her medical skills.
So he stopped questioning, "Handle it as you see fit."
After a while, as Faye continued applying the medicine, she softly spoke, "Oh, by the way, Milo has reported to the new school and asked me to thank you again."
Under the gentle light, Adrian Lancaster watched her earnest expression, her fair skin like a baby’s, and her naturally young face still slightly innocent, "No need to be polite, just returning the favor."
He didn’t want to be too close to her, nor did he want to owe her anything.
At night, in the hospital.
Brandon Lancaster, with multiple fractures all over, lay in bed, irritable and annoyed. The doctor advised that he must stay in bed for at least half a month to recover properly, otherwise, there would be aftereffects.
"It must be Adrian Lancaster who sent someone to beat me!" Brandon Lancaster gritted his teeth with hatred, "If I find evidence, he’s done for!"
"If President Lancaster did it, there wouldn’t be any evidence left." Eastwood, loyal and devoted, stood by his bedside, sighing helplessly, "You know that the road was completely out of surveillance range, and you were led there by the thugs."
"It must be him!!" Brandon Lancaster couldn’t swallow his anger, "I haven’t offended anyone else!"
"Brandon." Eastwood frowned slightly and reported softly, "Your mother is planning to return to the country, probably with a weekend ticket, if there are no changes."
"What?!" Brandon Lancaster was stunned, eyes wide open, "What’s she coming back for?"
Standing by the bed, Eastwood respectfully lowered his eyes and said, "She found out about your injuries."
"Tell her it was that brat Adrian Lancaster! Pay him back for me!" Brandon Lancaster didn’t believe anything else, could his aunt not handle it?
Eastwood was silent because he knew, even if it was President Lancaster, they would have to swallow this silently. The current Argent was President Lancaster’s world.
The next morning, at Aqua Flora Residences, 28th floor.
After Faye Turner got up, she reapplied ointment to Adrian Lancaster’s burn before he got dressed.
Outside, it was raining, the patter striking the floor-to-ceiling windows, like a skilled composer, that melody involuntarily changing one’s mood, creating a gentle feeling.
Having finished applying the medicine, she put down the bowl and picked up a bandage, gently wrapping his arm to prevent the ointment from rubbing onto his expensive shirt.
She instinctively helped him with the shirt, her movements light and gentle, yet very professional.
With Adrian Lancaster’s abs right in front of her, Faye’s cheeks couldn’t help but flush a little, and even some chaotic thoughts flashed through her mind.
The man seemed to notice her thoughts, his lips moved lightly, "Don’t be drooling over my body first thing in the morning, it will affect your work."
The girl abruptly lifted her eyes, "What are you thinking? Button up yourself!" With that, she turned and left.
Watching her hurried escape, Adrian Lancaster couldn’t help but smile. Since she moved in, the household had lost its former coldness, and he was gradually getting used to this feeling.
