CHAPTER 91: CHAPTER 91: REALLY BLAMED THE WRONG PERSON

The ring felt like a needle, piercing Ivy Jennings’ heart!

In her view, it severed the last shred of possibility, but the truth was, Adrian Lancaster remained virtuous and had never given her any possibility.

The man’s gaze was rather serious, causing Ivy’s heart to clench, her face turning paler by the moment, feeling utterly awkward and at a loss.

"Take it away." Adrian Lancaster’s thin lips parted slightly, his low, resonant voice carrying a coldness, "This ends here."

Ivy dared not linger, picked up the breakfast box and left, feeling incredibly uneasy; it wasn’t the breakfast being rejected, but her as a person.

If she had confessed earlier, without waiting, without procrastinating, maybe someone else wouldn’t be sitting in Mrs. Lancaster’s position? After all, as the saying goes, the pavilion closest to the water enjoys the moonlight first.

Such a huge rival, yet Ivy didn’t even know who the other person was! Losing felt so unsatisfying!

11th floor, inside the design department office.

The rain outside was still falling, and the pitter-patter sounded like the most beautiful music to Faye Turner; she had gained a lot this morning.

Mr. Moon had sent a message to her on Little Red Book, asking what her master was doing?

Faye was quite excited, so she typed out a message to share: Bursting with inspiration today, just arrived at the company, ready to dive into designing.

Mr. Moon was happy for her and quickly replied: Master, I won’t disturb you then, but there’s something I want to tell you, I’m planning to visit Argent, can we meet up?

Yes, they had always been Master Vance and his disciples, although connected and discussing design for a long time, they had never met.

Faye was a bit surprised to see this message, quickly asking: You’re coming specifically?

The other side replied: For business.

Only then did she feel at ease because meeting a man specifically and alone felt quite awkward to Faye, but if it was a casual meeting while doing something else, she could accept it.

Thus, Faye agreed readily, telling him to contact her once he arrived.

Mr. Moon also replied with an OK gesture.

In the next two hours, Faye immersed herself in design; the "Dew Fate" she saw this morning seemed like a new continent opened up to her, inspiring her creativity.

Two hours later, carrying materials to the large public printer, she unexpectedly bumped into Dylan Shaw.

Just as Faye was about to greet him, Dylan, with a sullen face, angrily asked, "Faye, I really didn’t expect you to be so thoughtless?"

"What?" Now it was her turn to be puzzled.

"Why did you tell President Lancaster about Rachel and me?!" Dylan was furious, but controlled, being in the company, "Even though I was wrong, it’s a private matter. Why am I working so hard? Isn’t it just to give Rachel and the child a better life?"

Faye listened, somewhat confused, but caught the main point—Adrian Lancaster had reprimanded him?

"Don’t let emotions sway you in this matter; if a marriage doesn’t work out well, it’s definitely the responsibility of both people! I don’t know what Rachel told you, but can it always be my fault while she’s entirely right?"

Behind the corner, Adrian Lancaster paused at the sound, his distinguished face devoid of any emotion, hands in pockets.

"Dylan," Faye listened, irritated, "are you blaming me? Then you’ll go back and blame Rachel, too? You never consider reflecting on yourself, do you?"

"Isn’t it your failure as the mediator if the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship isn’t good?" Faye was quite restrained, "Let me tell you, if you dare not treat Rachel well, I’ll make you lose your job in a second! Do you know what postnatal depression is?"

"So, it was really you who talked to the President?" Dylan was also angry, "How immature of you! President Lancaster is so busy; for him, time is money! And if I lose my job, will you support my child?!"

"If you want President Lancaster not to approach you again, if you want to keep this job, handle the problems within your marriage well!" Faye seized the chance to tell him, "I only wish for your well-being, that’s all!"

In an instant, Dylan also sobered up, realizing Faye wasn’t just a small employee!
