When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster
Chapter 94: President Lancaster Is a Little Angry Tonight
CHAPTER 94: CHAPTER 94: PRESIDENT LANCASTER IS A LITTLE ANGRY TONIGHT
All afternoon, Faye Turner searched everywhere but still couldn’t find the wedding ring. She grew increasingly anxious, her mind a complete mess.
She deeply understood the significance of this ring because it was truly expensive! Grandpa Lancaster custom-made it, and it couldn’t be lost!
So, she didn’t feel like creating anymore, nor did she work overtime. She kept searching repeatedly but still couldn’t find it. What could she do?
At eight o’clock in the evening, darkness had fallen, and Faye Turner returned home in a terrible mood.
As soon as she opened the door, she saw Adrian Lancaster sitting on the sofa, staring at her intensely, as if waiting to interrogate her.
Faye Turner had a bad feeling and greeted him with a smile, "Have you eaten yet?"
"Why did you throw away the ring?" The man stared at her innocent and pure face, a sharp coldness flickering in his eyes.
The girl paused slightly, meeting his gaze.
His low voice was like a snowy field, carrying an undeniable royal authority, "Even if you’re dissatisfied with me, there’s no need to throw away Grandpa’s custom ring. It’s very expensive and it represents Grandpa’s sentiment!"
"No, listen to my explanation." She hurriedly came before him, "I..."
"Speak." The man lifted his eyes, a distant indifference in his deep, shadowy peach blossom eyes, "I’ll give you a chance to explain, but I won’t tolerate any lies!"
"Adrian, where is the ring?" Faye Turner was also anxious, knowing he’d found it.
The man gazed at her, retracting his cold eyes, leaned forward, and lightly placed the ring on the coffee table.
At the moment she saw the ring, the stone in her heart settled, and she breathed a sigh of relief.
She stepped forward, bent down to take it, and put it back on her finger, "Today at the office, I heard people talking about you wearing a wedding ring, worried that it would attract gossip, so I took it off and put it in my pocket. Somehow it was lost, and I’ve been looking for it since."
Adrian Lancaster possessed keen insight and could see she wasn’t lying, but he was dissatisfied with her actions, "How could you just carelessly lose something so valuable?"
"Please believe me, I certainly didn’t throw it away intentionally!" Faye Turner said frankly, "I want to design something timeless in this department and stand firm. I don’t want the Mrs. Lancaster identity to overshadow my talent."
"Talent?" Adrian Lancaster currently didn’t see any talent in her.
"Don’t mock me; I already have inspiration and a starting point! I can design a piece that will satisfy you!"
"You don’t need to flatter me; I’ll be fair and impartial."
"..."
Just then, Grandpa Lancaster’s call came in. Adrian Lancaster’s eyes flickered as he picked up the phone, "Hello, Grandpa."
"Are you going on a business trip tomorrow? Should the Serene Hollow Village project be inspected onsite?"
"Yes, Grandpa."
"Then take Faye with you!" The old man instructed, "The scenery there is nice; you haven’t had a honeymoon since your marriage. It’s time to relax."
Adrian Lancaster felt quite troubled. He’d given Dustin Shepherd leave, so Ivy Jennings had to accompany him. Bringing Faye along too... might not be a good idea.
"Adrian Lancaster, what are you thinking?" Grandpa sternly asked upon hearing no answer from him for a while, "Have you forgotten you got married? Still want to live the single life?"
"I haven’t forgotten."
"Then take Faye with you! Relax, build your relationship!" Grandpa emphasized again, "You must go together! When you let me hold a great-grandchild, I’ll remove the household surveillance."
"Okay, okay, I promise you." Adrian Lancaster cared most about Grandpa.
Watching him hang up the phone, Faye Turner could sense his bad mood, but she didn’t ask anything and turned to prepare his herbal medicine.
When she came over with the medicine bowl, Adrian Lancaster had already finished bathing, appearing in her sight wrapped in a bathrobe. This damn man was too charming, and she steadied her heart.
Adrian Lancaster looked at her coldly.
"Shall I apply the medicine for you first?" She said, approaching him, her gaze falling on his arm.
He didn’t resist and sat down in the chair, rolling up his sleeves. Like last night, she bent down and carefully applied the medicine.
"I’m going on a business trip tomorrow, and Grandpa asked me to take you with me," Adrian Lancaster asked her, "Is this something you mentioned to Grandpa?"
The girl paused slightly, raising her eyes abruptly, "How would I know you’re going on a business trip? Why would I want to follow you?"
