CHAPTER 99: CHAPTER 99: MR. KERR LENDS A HELPING HAND
Faye Turner listened to the sound of the rain, gazed at the curtain of rain in front of her, and admired the lush greenery around. She couldn’t help but sigh, "In this fast-paced life, being able to feel a bit of nature’s tranquility is truly healing."
"Yes, but I heard they’re planning to develop it into a resort." The old lady sighed lightly, somewhat wistfully, looking into the distance, "I don’t know what the big boss is thinking. To preserve this peace, one must have a certain sentimentality."
Up until now, Faye Turner hadn’t associated Adrian Lancaster with possibly being that big boss behind the scenes.
Here, she saw all sorts of necklaces woven by spiders, with large and small water droplets hanging from them, each one was beautiful,
It sparked infinite inspiration, bringing her into a great mood, "Thank you for today, Granny, and thank you for your bread. Goodbye."
"Take care, girl, be careful of slipping in the rain."
After saying goodbye, Faye Turner opened her little floral umbrella and stepped out. Various images flashed through her mind, and she was eager to start creating.
Just as she stepped into the back door of the homestay, Faye Turner encountered Adrian Lancaster, who was about to leave. She walked into his line of sight, causing her steps to halt and her smile to slightly fade.
Seeing her there took Adrian Lancaster by surprise. His cold eyes slowly assessed her, a hint of displeasure on his face.
"Don’t misunderstand, I’m not stalking you!" Feeling his unhappiness, Faye Turner rushed to explain, "I just came here for inspiration, and it happens that... you’re here too."
She knew he wouldn’t believe it.
The man’s deep eyes stared at her coldly, disliking women with heavy schemes.
But Faye Turner had no way to argue because the coincidence was just too uncanny.
After a while, Adrian Lancaster said nothing. He opened his umbrella and quietly stepped forward.
The girl held her breath. As he passed by her, she truly felt goosebumps, but when he left, she secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
She quickly entered the backyard, closed her umbrella, and hurried upstairs.
Returning to her room, she opened her computer and, with her current state of mind, wholeheartedly dove into her designs.
Lunch time arrived quickly, and she’d lost track of time.
In the best restaurant of the homestay, Mr. Kerr was in charge. He had set the menu and invited the chef, worried that the president might not enjoy the meal.
In a certain room upstairs, Ivy Jennings was thrilled at the thought of having lunch with the president. She even changed into a dress, fearing she wouldn’t have the opportunity to showcase her beauty.
As Adrian Lancaster returned with his umbrella, he happened to meet Mr. Kerr.
Mr. Kerr approached him and took the large folded black umbrella from his hand, "President, Miss Turner came over. Would you like to invite her to lunch?"
Adrian Lancaster furrowed his brow and turned his gaze toward him.
Mr. Kerr explained, "This morning, just after you opened the room, Miss Turner got out of a taxi. She said she came for inspiration and apparently didn’t know you were here. When she saw me, she seemed quite surprised. Oh, and she also asked me not to tell you, fearing she’d disturb you."
Only then did Adrian Lancaster realize that he’d misunderstood her.
"President, lunch... should we send some to her? We’ve prepared plenty."
The man thought she didn’t want her identity exposed and said, "Send some to her room."
"Alright." Mr. Kerr was quite pleased with such a decision, as they were, after all, husband and wife.
Soon, the door of a room upstairs was knocked upon.
In the midst of designing, Faye Turner turned her head at the sound, confirming the knock was indeed on her door. She got up, puzzled, and opened the door.
"Mr. Kerr?"
"Good day, Miss Turner." Mr. Kerr held a tray, with a bowl of rice and three dishes plus a soup on it. He smiled warmly at her, "This was sent over by the president."
Faye Turner was shocked, then quickly reached out to take it, "Thank you, please thank him for me."
"Certainly." Mr. Kerr smiled, "Enjoy your meal, I will definitely convey your thanks."
