Chapter 955 - 336: Who Says Bai Fu Is the Holy Mother?
CHAPTER 955: CHAPTER 336: WHO SAYS BAI FU IS THE HOLY MOTHER?
When Lupus was plotting to contact Bai Fu, Bai Fu was reprimanding the imprisoned Death God Isaac with the Oath Lord.
"Do you know why we captured you?"
Isaac, with a blade at his throat, looked utterly confused.
Wasn’t it because he acted arrogantly, took a step too slow, and then got caught as an example?
Thinking of this, Isaac felt speechless.
He had always had good luck in life, so how could it fail him at such a critical moment?
It’s truly a curse!
Just then, the Oath Lord suddenly let out a cold chuckle, "Isaac, have you truly forgotten about me?"
"Remember you?"
Isaac paused for a moment.
Roaming the explored universe, of course, he knew one of the Super Supreme of the Edge World, the Oath Lord.
But from the Oath Lord’s expression and tone, the real meaning behind her words suggested they had met before and had a confrontation.
But...
Isaac racked his brain but still couldn’t recall a time when he had met the Oath Lord.
The Oath Lord was well-known, and his memory wasn’t bad; if he indeed had a conflict with the Oath Lord, it was impossible for him to forget.
So, did he inadvertently do something to provoke the Oath Lord?
"That’s right, at that time your attention was entirely on those interrupting your business, so how could you remember someone like me, a nobody?"
The Oath Lord glared at Isaac with resentment and began recounting the past.
She would never forget the despair she felt when she saw her hometown turned to powder in the news as Isaac casually destroyed it while fighting his enemies.
She would never forget the anger she felt when she sought out Isaac to discuss the matter, only to be thrown out before she could even get close.
Her talent was exceptional.
But her rapid growth was largely fueled by her hatred.
"I see." Isaac suddenly understood, "What a pity, though you’ve explained it clearly, I still can’t remember."
His soul made a shrugging gesture, sounding remarkably relaxed.
"That’s very normal, I’ve destroyed so many planets and there are too many people cursing me every day; if I were to remember them all, it would be too much for me."
This nonchalant attitude further incensed the already furious Oath Lord.
"It doesn’t matter if you don’t remember; as long as I do, that’s enough. Isaac, I’m going to use your soul to mourn my innocent fallen compatriots!"
The Oath Lord was done reconciling with Isaac; she merely wanted to send him on his way quickly, to see if he remained nonchalant when faced with actual death.
Yet just as the Oath Lord was about to make her move, Isaac suddenly laughed.
"Are you sure you want to kill me?"
"Yes, I’m sure."
"Even if I offer to make a trade and tell you the internal secrets of the Origins Agreement, you still want to kill me?"
The Oath Lord’s body stiffened suddenly.
Now she genuinely couldn’t say she was sure.
As for herself, she really didn’t care about the Origins Agreement or not.
After all, she hadn’t allied with any of the three Cosmic Level Civilizations; the conflict between the Origins Agreement and the three Cosmic Level Civilizations had nothing to do with her.
However, Bai Fu needed it.
Even though she had helped Bai Fu quite a bit, what she did was clearly not nearly as much as what Bai Fu had done for her.
If it weren’t for Bai Fu, no matter how hard she trained, she couldn’t have captured Isaac.
On one hand, Isaac’s power was stronger than hers.
On the other hand, Isaac was part of the Origins Agreement, and she couldn’t think of a way to bypass it and kill Isaac.
So, to repay her benefactor Bai Fu’s kindness...
The Oath Lord gritted her teeth, "Are you saying that if I let you go, you’d be willing to tell us about the internal situation of the Origins Agreement?"
Isaac laughed, "That’s right."
This was the confidence behind his extraordinary calmness.
Although revealing information about the Origins Agreement to Bai Fu and the Oath Lord would cause the Origins Agreement to issue a bounty on him, and he absolutely wouldn’t stand a chance against them, he couldn’t worry about the future now; he had to first escape the current crisis.
Bai Fu said to the Oath Lord, "No need to entertain him, just kill him. There are plenty of ways to figure out the internal workings of the Origins Agreement without dealing with him."
The Oath Lord shook her head, "There may be many methods, but the sooner we understand the Origins Agreement, the safer you’ll be when confronting them. It’s okay; you don’t need to worry about me. Letting him go today doesn’t mean I won’t seek revenge later. I can always catch him again."
As she spoke, she glared fiercely at Isaac.
"Speak, as long as you tell us, once I’ve verified it, I’ll release you immediately."
Isaac was unmoved.
"I don’t trust you; I’ll only talk if Bai Fu personally agrees to let me go."
In the explored universe, everyone knows Bai Fu is the "Holy Mother of Holy Mothers."
Her word is reliable!
"No, you..."
Bai Fu wanted to persuade the Oath Lord a bit more, but the Oath Lord was resolute.
Just one word—
Trade.
If Bai Fu refused, then she would release Isaac right now.
"Ah, you..."
With no other options, Bai Fu had to agree.
"Go ahead and speak."
Haha, success!
Isaac was overjoyed internally.
He could finally survive this.
It seemed his luck was indeed a bit off, but not utterly disastrous; otherwise, how could he have out-maneuvered the Oath Lord like this?
