CHAPTER 261: CHAPTER 260: WHAT ARE THE TERMS OF THE CONTRACT? (PART 1)

When Eva Nightingale woke up, the sunlight was bright outside the window.

She freshened up and then walked out of her room. Dr. Meng was waiting outside: "Miss, these are the shares contracts of the Nightingale Group, and there’s one more, drafted by me at the behest of the President."

Eva stood there, staring blankly at Dr. Meng.

She had met him once at the Military Base.

Not too familiar, but everyone was polite to her.

Eva took the "contract," glanced over it generally; the paper was roughly dozens of sheets, but they were all blank pages.

Only the first page had large words written on it: "Marriage Agreement."

Eva thought her eyes were playing tricks, opened them wide and looked again, only to realize that apart from those few words, there was nothing else on the paper.

"Doctor, are you sure you didn’t take the wrong agreement?"

A contract agreement should be pages and pages, written clearly and concisely, detailing terms like: ’Non-interference, be a good First Lady, divorce upon expiry, no entanglements’, right?

How come this contract only has the large words ’Marriage Agreement’ and nothing else?

Dr. Meng was stunned for a moment, then said to Eva, "Miss Nightingale! This is the agreement drafted by His Excellency, you just need to sign it."

Dr. Meng was as confused as well.

Not sure what that gentleman really meant!

This contract with dozens of blank pages, once Miss Nightingale signs it, it has to be handed to the President, no clue what he plans to do with those blank pages!

While Dr. Meng was in a daze, Eva picked up the pen and signed it without hesitation.

Then following the procedure, Dr. Meng finally opened the file bag in his hand, there was only a note inside, he handed it to Eva without reading it.

Eva took it, reading the single line on it: "Write your demands yourself, write them into the contract, once you finish, it’s my turn."

Eva blinked.

She looked at Dr. Meng: "Doctor, is this how contracts are signed?"

Throwing the file right in front of her and letting her list conditions at will?

"Doctor, would he not care even if I demand a company or a castle?"

Dr. Meng adjusted his glasses, glanced at the note in Eva’s hand, then gathered himself: "Yes. You can write all demands into the contract."

"His Excellency’s meaning is, write what you want."

Isn’t it supposed to be like that?

Eva was startled.

Lucas Knight, has he lost his mind?

Was he stupidly mad because Benjamin Grant angered him last night?

In the middle of the night, he said he would punish her, but ended up doing push-ups over her all night! Who’s punishing who here?

That would be it.

And now there’s this "blank contract," sign first, then write the conditions in the contract...

Eva was shocked and dazed: "Doctor, are you sure it’s not wrong? I can write whatever I want and he wouldn’t care?"

Dr. Meng nodded.

Then tried to make a decisive demeanor: "Yes, Miss, His Excellency wrote it clearly, write what you want! Anyway, nothing he can’t accomplish!"

Dr. Meng was sweating as well.

Contract marriage, he had written such a contract before, but it’s completely different from this.

Eva, puzzled, picked up the pen.

On the blank pages, she wrote line after line.

Then handed the contract to the doctor.

"Thank you, Doctor, I’ve written it."

"Miss Nightingale, please confirm," Dr. Meng reminded, "Once you’re sure, with nothing more to add, I’ll deliver the contract to His Excellency."
