Edward turned to Macie and asked, “Macie, why did you add more salt?b” /b

“Oh no, these two dishes are too salty as well…” Sharonmented as she tasted each of the dishes. She then bit her lip and looked at Macie. “It could have been a mistake if only one dish was too salty, but for

all of them to be too salty…

“May, I know you don’t like seeing me eat the food you made, but Ed has to eat too. If you do this…”

She trailed off before putting on a magnanimous expression and turning ito /iEdward.

“Ed, don’t be mad. May is just jealous. I’m staying at your ce, and she still has to cook for me… It’s just

because she loves you too much.”

“Macie, you’re an adult. Don’t you think that you’re being childish?” Edward couldn’t hold back anymore and mmed the table. “Sharon is only staying here temporarily. Didn’t I tell you beforehand? She’ll only

stay in your room for a short while. Can’t you be a little more understanding?”

As the two of them echoed each other, Macie picked up her te and calmly asked, “Are you done talking? I’ll eat the food. You two do as you please.”

Edward became even angrier when at her indifferent attitude. How could she act this way when he was

trying to reason with her?

Macie picked up a piece of braised beef with her fork. But before she could eat it, arge hand suddenly swung over and knocked her fork to the floor.

“I already said that it’s salty, and you’re still eating? What, are you trying to prove that it’s not?” Edward

snapped. fn557f Find the newest release on Find?Novel/fn557f

Macie stared silently at the fallen fork, then turned to the kitchen to get another one.

“Ed, let’s eat out. We can bring some food back for Mayter,” Sharon suggested, pulling on Edward’s arm.

Edward, who was still fuming at Macie, didn’t move.

“Don’t be like this. A man should be more forgiving. Besides, I don’t even mind,” Sharon coaxed him. “May was just discharged, so be more understanding. Let’s go.”

Hearing her mention Macie’s discharge, Edward finally hesitated. Since Macie was still mad at him, he decided to be more forgiving.

“May, I’m taking Ed out. Just throw the food away, okay?” Sharon said in a hostess–like manner before shutting the door behind them.

The house was finally quiet again.

Macie pursed her lips, used her fork to scrape away the topyer of the food, and ate theyer beneath it. She didn’t find it salty at all.

She didn’t even bother exining herself. After all, would Edward even listen?

A few words from Sharon were enough to make him lose his temper and start yelling at Macie. Even if

only the surfaceyer of the food were salted, he would still use her of doing it on purpose rather than suspect Sharon.

Moreover, Edward wouldn’t even bother checking the security cameras. He’d already decided it was her

fault.

Macie was used to this. She had even mentally prepared for Sharon’s next scheme. But she was tired. Just ten more days. She just wanted some peace.

Thinking about the divorce papers she had printed that afternoon and left in her room, Macie decided

she would talk with Sharon tomorrow.

When Edward returned over an hourter, he saw that the dining table had been cleared and the kitchen

was spotless.

“Mayb, /be to have a bite to eat,” Sharon called as she knocked on Macie’s door.

However, there was no response.

Sharon knocked a few more times, her tone patient, even coaxing.

“Ed isn’t mad anymorei. /iCome out. I’ll make him apologize to you. He was too harsh earlier.”

Still, there was no response.

At this point, Edward’s temper red up again. He turned to Sharon and snapped, “She can eat or starve for all I care. She’s beingpletely unreasonable. She made a mistake, yet she expects everyone to

coddle her! How is she shameless enough to do that?” 0
