Seeing Maxine remain silent, Bradley’s tone hardened. He demanded, “I’m talking to you! Who the hell are you?”

Maxine looked at him and said, “I’m Mr. Urban Soto’s representative. He sent me here after learning that someone held this investment meeting without notifying him.”

A few shareholders frowned at Bradley. One of them asked, “You didn’t inform Mr. Soto about such a major deal with Peak Technology?”

Bradley was momentarily at a loss for words under their questioning. After all, not every shareholder could be bought off. Some were neutral, and others supported Urban, whom he’d previously fobbed off with excuses. But now, an unexpected obstacle appeared, catching himpletely off guard.

An elder board member sitting beside Bradley spoke up, “Mr. Soto is rtively new to this position and may not yet have the experience to foresee everything. Besides, partnering with Peak Technology is a win–win for both sides. In today’s business climate, Alpite Group needs to transform, and this partnership marks our first step in that direction.”

Some shareholders seemed swayed by his words.

That was actually a valid point. While Alpite Group had projects in various industries, technology remained its weak spot. Seizing this opportunity for transformation would benefit thepany’s future strategic direction.

With someone backing him up, Bradley’s confidence surged. He red at Maxine and said, “Listen, kid, if you’re really here representing Mr. Sotó, I’ve got nothing to say. But if you’re just here to disrupt this meeting, I’ll have to ask you to leave. You’re not wee here.”

Standing behind Maxine, Dawn addressed the group firmly, “Everyone, we’re not just here to attend this meeting. After consulting with Mr. Soto, he had Peak Technology investigated, and it turns out to be a shellpany with no real operations.”

“No way!” one of the shareholders eximed in shock.

Dawn nodded firmly. “It’s true. Although Peak Technology has been established for years, it has generated zero revenue so far and hasn’t participated in any R&D projects.”

Bradley narrowed his eyes dangerously, gritting his teeth. “So you’re saying all the contracts I signed are fake?” he snapped. “Don’t be ridiculous! The Peak Technology rep is right here, go ahead and ask him if you don’t believe mel”

After being called out by him, the young man at the front straightened up defensively and retorted, “Sure, ourpany may be small, but we’re already actively developing new software. Besides, you all reviewed the contract terms when we negotiated the deal.”

Some shareholders, now thoroughly confused, could only watch as the argument unfolded.

Maxine arched a skeptical eyebrow. “Is that so?”

A sinking feeling crept into Bradley’s gut, but with all the shareholders watching, he had no choice but to put on a brave face. He demanded, “What exactly are you implying? You’re not even from ourpany, are you?”

Bradley snapped, as if he’d finally caught Maxine in a lie. “What’s your name? You’re not even from ourpany, what gives you the right to be in this meeting? What’s Urban up to? Does he think he can just throw his weight around because of his position?”

Maxine simply stared at him in silence, as if watching a pathetic clown.

Bradley immediately saw through her intentions. Flushed with anger, he shot to his feet and snapped, “What’s that supposed to mean? And Dawn, is this the person you brought? Do you think Alpite Group is your personal yground where you can just bring in whoever you want?”
