Urban instructed Dawn to produce all the contracts signed during his absence abroad.

“These contracts are already signed and can’t be altered,” he said with a practiced smile. Still, those who knew him could tell he was seething beneath the surface.

Even Dawn kept silent, afraid any careless word might get her scolded. Maxine sighed and asked, “What’s your next move then?”

    She was referring to Bradley.

Urban shrugged. “We’ll preserve the evidence first. When Bradley can’t cover thepany’s losses on his own, we’ll just take it out of his shares.”

As he spoke, Urban nced sideways at the thick stack of contracts on the table, a mocking smile ying on his lips. “He’s been quite active while I was away, shame all that energy wasn’t spent on building thepany,” he sneered.

Maxine asked, “That shellpany… so when we pay thepensation, will he just funnel it into his personal ount?”

Urban nodded. “Pretty much. But thatpany isn’t actually his. There must be other channels involved.”

    Urban sneered, “Practically moneyundering.”

Maxine looked over the contracts and said confidently, “No problem. Consider it done. I’ll have everything ready in a few days.”

Maxine gathered the contracts and was about to leave when Urban stopped her. “You can work on it here at the office,” he said, “I’ll arrange for a car to pick you up daily.”

Maxine didn’t think much of it, just assuming he had some special arrangements. Besides, she had nothing scheduled these days, and the extra movement would help her injured leg recover some muscle, so she readily agreed.

Dawn tactfully gathered the documents and withdrew, leaving the two in private.

Maxine didn’t think much of it and casually picked up the top contract, flipping through it. “So, where will my office be? Still in the Legal Department?”

Urban shook his head. “You’ll be temporarily assigned to the Secretarial Department,” he said, “Bradley made excuses to transfer out all the original staff from the Legal Department. I need to find

time to fill their positions first, and then bring the original team back.”

Dealing with personnel changes was always a headache. Fortunately, thanks to Dawn’s deliberate intervention, Bradley only issued temporary transfer orders at the time. The real problem was, he had already let go of the previous staff, so now they had no choice but to recruit and train a whole new

    batch.

This was a massive undertaking. The handover would take at least a month, even if everything went smoothly.

Urban briefly filled her in, then hesitated for a moment before asking, “So, what’s going on with Hamlin? I caught bits and pieces of news about him while I was abroad.”

Back home, people were already talking about Hamlin’s past, and even some internationalpanies were deliberately excluding Easnd Entertainment’s artists from their events, though Urban suspected Sebastian had a hand in that.

But he wouldn’t say this to Maxine’s face.

Urban advised, “Look, your father’s case is ancient history now. If the evidence isn’t solid when the timees, don’t waste energy arguing with theirwyer about it, just focus on his recent cases.”

Maxine stared at him sharply. “What do you

    know?”

Urban chuckled at her sensitivity, both amused and exasperated. “I just got back to the country, how would I knowi? /iI’m just giving you a heads–up. Hamlin’s been quiet for way too long, he’s definitely scheming something behind the scenes. That guy would never just behave himself.”
