CHAPTER 347: CHAPTER 209: OLD SEN LEGENDARY FILMS_4
In a daze, Rowena seemed to catch a glimpse of a towering figure fleeting among the stars. He paused, glanced at her, then disappeared without a trace.
...
"Hiss—! Ethan, could you be a little gentler, please!"
In the Imperial Capital Mansion, Rowena shouted, seemingly unconcerned that someone might report her for disturbing the peace in the middle of the night.
Now she was no longer the chosen of Sincaro and showed no signs of having recently defeated the so-called heir of Kadela. Her head was wrapped in bandages, her eyebrows were furrowed, and several tears had squeezed out of the corners of her eyes.
"What’s the big fuss over a little wound?"
Ethan wiped away her tears and leaned in to observe Rowena, "Are you really crying?"
To be honest, when Rowena returned to the mansion covered in blood, she did have a bit of a Valkyrie aura. However, it didn’t last three seconds. The moment she saw someone who cared about her approach, she burst into tears, "Ethan, I’m dying!"
This was the first thing the "Valkyrie" said upon returning home.
After Ethan’s careful examination, it was discovered that there was just a cut on her left forehead from a slicing magic, not too deep nor too shallow, though it bled quite a bit. It was far from causing excessive blood loss that could lead to death.
If anyone in the Kingdom Army camp were to shed tears over such an injury, they’d be laughed at for a lifetime.
Rowena was still as delicate as ever, and defeating the fake Kadela didn’t change that in the slightest.
Ethan was curious, "You say you saw the real Kadela at the end?"
"I think so, but I’m not sure..."
Rowena said.
The fake Kadela was crushed by the real God of Trickery for pledging allegiance to the Old Gods. This made her realize the insurmountable gulf between mortals and true gods. If she had faced the owner of that pale hand from the beginning, she probably wouldn’t have been able to stay calm at all.
Only by experiencing it firsthand could one directly understand that suffocating sense of oppression.
She truly couldn’t understand how Ethan dared to converse and laugh with Old An face to face.
It should be noted that at the time, Old An had not yet awakened to motherly glory and was a vengeful spirit full of hatred towards humanity after being backstabbed.
It was likely that just one glance from Old An at that time would have scared her to death.
"So... did you replace the fake Kadela and seize all the knowledge of the God of Trickery?"
"I don’t know either."
Rowena shook her head. She only remembered gray-white light spots drifting towards her, with strange knowledge and magic power flooding into her brain... but she had no time for that then. Her face was covered in blood, and her forehead hurt as if it were being sliced by a knife.
She needed healing!
This was the only thought Rowena had at the time.
Fortunately, Ethan’s bandaging skills were up to par, aside from being a bit heavy-handed.
Seeing Rowena still somewhat dazed, Ethan couldn’t help but chuckle softly. Thinking about how the fake Kadela was scared witless by a magic bread, she regretted not witnessing it herself.
While bandaging, Rowena explained the principle of the "ominous weapon" to her.
Although the "transmutation" magic couldn’t affect the fake Kadela, it could change the appearance of the magic bread.
Rowena always felt that this magic bread was unusually effective, maybe it was originally meant to be used for fighting, and it was very handy.
"But thank you for your hard work."
Ethan lightly patted Rowena’s shoulder, "I really don’t know how you managed to pull through."
"Actually, it’s quite simple."
Rowena replied seriously and earnestly, "It’s brainwashing."
"Brainwashing?"
"Many of Old Sen’s plans were ineffective until I discovered a method."
When thinking about facing an ancient monster thousands of years old, who shared a name with the God of Trickery, Rowena felt her hands and feet go cold, and couldn’t help but shiver.
That would definitely reveal flaws.
Ethan made her believe she was the chosen one of Sincaro, which was actually quite difficult to do.
However, Rowena found something else much easier to believe.
"What method?"
"What Old Sen said is definitely right, and Old Sen won’t harm me."
Rowena began repeating like an unfeeling machine.
Compared to the Master of Demons, Sincaro, or even herself, Rowena was more inclined to believe in Ethan.
"Rowena, you..."
Ethan was startled by her.
"I know, Ethan, I’m doing something greedy."
Rowena interrupted her, saying, "I feel that Ethan could become my godfather."
