CHAPTER 1162: WELCOME TO THE FAMILY

When we entered the inner parts of the Deng Family, the rest of the members of the Deng Family soon scattered.

Though it seemed like they wanted to stay and see what was happening, it only took a single look from Deng Ying to send them away.

No matter what, he was the true head of the Deng Family and there wasn’t anyone that actually dared to go against him.

However, it wasn’t that everyone was sent away.

There were still some people that were here with them, but they were people that were related to this matter.

There were two that seemed to be hiding themselves as if they were ashamed to show themselves to Mu Bao Bao, but it was impossible for them to hide in this small space. At the same time, it was hard for them to hide when they already knew what they looked like.

From the very beginning, Lin Fan knew that they were here.

It was just that he never said anything to Mu Bao Bao about them since he didn’t want her to be distracted yet.

This was something that she gave him a look for afterwards, but Lin Fan just accepted it like it was nothing.

When they were alone in the room, Deng Ying suddenly said, "I’m sure that you have many things to say, but let me say something first."

He turned to look at Deng Mei’er and Mu Huang to say, "I’m sorry for ignoring you all this time. It’s just that if I were to step in, it would have only made things much worse. You are all my descendants, so I’ve been too lenient on this matter because I was afraid to step in."

Everyone in the room was surprised to hear this.

Even Lin Fan and Mu Bao Bao who didn’t know as much about this situation were surprised to hear Deng Ying admit this.

It was only the Fire Fist King and the Poison King who didn’t show any expressions at all.

They just sat there on the side as if this matter wasn’t related to them. It really seemed like they were here just to watch a show rather than actually being involved in this matter.

After a moment of silence, Lin Fan couldn’t help knitting his brows as a look of doubt appeared in his eyes.

After all, it really seemed like Deng Ying was just saying this because he had no other choice. Since the Fire Fist King and the Poison King were here, it seemed like he was saying this to save himself.

His brows slowly started to relax in the end.

Even if that was the case, this was what he had been aiming for in the first place.

So even if he didn’t exactly like this situation, there was nothing that he could say about it.

It was up to the people that were directly involved in this matter.

"Ha, father, I know that you did your best for the family, but there are some people that just aren’t satisfied with what they had. It was also why I’ve never done anything to that brother of mine and watched as he made my daughter suffer." A man on the side suddenly said this.

Only this wasn’t any random person, it was Deng Mei’er’s father Deng Yu.

Which meant that he was also Mu Bao Bao’s grandfather.

As for Deng Mei’er and Mu Huang, the two of them just sat there silently without any expressions on their faces. Only it was clear by the look in their eyes that there were many different thoughts that were going through their minds.

In the end, Mu Huang was the one that said, "I know that you’ve been doing things to make up for this. The two of you were the ones that arranged for the Mu Empire to be taken care of, right? At the very least, it showed that you were worried enough that you took action even though you had remained silent for so long."

Deng Mei’er didn’t seem like she would forgive and forget that easily though with the way that she looked at the two of them. Even though Mu Huang had spoken, she still looked at them with narrowed eyes.

In the end, she turned to look at Mu Bao Bao without saying anything to the two of them.

Mu Bao Bao also looked at Deng Mei’er during this time.

She had only been looking at Deng Mei’er the entire time, not sparing a single glance for Mu Huang who was her father. It really seemed like she didn’t even care that he was in the room, she only cared about Deng Mei’er.

After a long silence, Deng Mei’er suddenly said, "I’m sorry, it was all my fault. I was the one that abandoned you all in the end."

A complicated look appeared on Mu Bao Bao’s face when she heard this.

She didn’t say anything in response which made Deng Mei’er seem a bit worried.

But after a moment of silence, she finally said, "It was hard living on my own all that time. Even if the Love Sect was there for me, I always wondered where my parents were and if they ever wanted to find me."

Both Deng Mei’er and Mu Huang revealed looks of sadness and regret when they heard this, but they couldn’t say anything. They could only look at Mu Bao Bao with these looks on their faces, as if they didn’t know how to make it up to her.

With a sigh, Mu Bao Bao turned to look at Lin Fan.

When she turned to look at him, Lin Fan could see that there was a trace of hesitation that was in her eyes. At the same time, it was as if she was asking him for some kind of confirmation.

Lin Fan didn’t react right away as he thought about it, but in the end...

"It’s your choice. But all I can say is that you shouldn’t leave any regrets."

He didn’t say it out loud, that was just what the look in his eyes said.

Even without him saying it, Mu Bao Bao could see what he was telling her from the way that he looked at her. So she slowly turned back to look at Deng Mei’er and Mu Huang who had been patiently waiting for her to say anything.

She didn’t speak at first, but then she said, "I can’t say that I forgive you, but you’re still my parents in the end."

She also turned to look at Deng Yu and Deng Ying before saying, "You’re my relatives as well, even if I can’t say that I have a favourable view of you."

Deng Yu and Deng Ying revealed awkward looks when they heard this, but they didn’t say anything to refute this. In fact, it looked like they accepted what Mu Bao Bao said since they knew that what she said was the truth.

Then with another sigh, Mu Bao Bao said, "But for now, let’s get to know each other. I won’t make a decision yet, I just want to get to know you so I can make that decision."

It didn’t really seem like much of a concession, but it seemed to mean a lot to both Deng Mei’er and Mu Huang.

When Deng Mei’er heard this, she couldn’t help standing up and moving towards Mu Bao Bao.

Only when she came close, Mu Bao Bao suddenly took a step back.

There was a hurt look that appeared on Deng Mei’er’s face when she saw this, but she also didn’t take a step forward. At the same time, there was this look of understanding that appeared in her eyes.

"It seems like I made the right choice entrusting her to him. He’s someone that can take care of her like we can’t." Mu Huang thought with a silent sigh.

There was this awkward silence that filled the room after the two of them froze like this.

In the end, it was Deng Ying who broke the silence with a cough that made people turn in his direction.

Seeing everyone look at him, he calmly said, "I think that it’ll take all of us some time to get used to this situation. However, there is one thing that I have to say."

Turning to Lin Fan and Mu Bao Bao, he said, "Welcome to the family."
