CHAPTER 207: ABYSS SERIES RANK 2 CREATURES (PLEASE FAVORITE)_3
"TSSK!"
Thick white smoke billowed out.
Something’s not right, Carl thought, shaking his head. He once again prepared a bottle of liquid before placing the piece of flesh back into it.
He continued experimenting, bit by bit.
After a long while.
Just as I thought!
Observing the slice of meat soaked in the experimental vial, Carl’s gaze was complex—filled with surprise, joy, and some confusion.
This ’giant squid’ isn’t a Legendary Creature.
But rather...
A Second Order Creature!
Legendary Creature is a general term, denoting beings with Extraordinary Power, different from ordinary creatures.
In the knowledge system of Wizards, Legendary Creatures also have another official moniker—First Order Creatures!
These correspond with First Circle Wizards.
And Second Order Creatures naturally correspond to Second Circle Wizards!
No wonder the initial experiments kept failing; this ’giant squid’ wasn’t actually a Legendary Creature at all.
It’s also quite normal for methods effective on Legendary Creatures to lose their effect on this one.
A Second Order Creature!
Carl took a deep breath, his eyes shining.
If I can analyze it and use it to cultivate my Bloodline Magic, not only could I become an Official Wizard... even advancing to a Second Circle Wizard wouldn’t be a problem!
If successful, it meant that on Carl’s path to becoming a Second Circle Wizard, there were virtually no obstacles anymore.
While many Advanced Wizard Apprentices worried about how to become Official Wizards, he was already on the path to becoming a Second Circle Wizard.
Ecstasy was an understatement.
Strange!
After the elation, Carl’s face revealed confusion.
If it truly is a Second Order Creature, its strength is too weak—only slightly stronger than a normal Legendary Creature.
He had never seen a true Second Order Creature, but he had witnessed the strength of a Second Circle Wizard.
The Grey Robe Wizard Adison was one such Second Circle Wizard. With his strength, he could easily flatten the Dragon King Chamber of Commerce.
Forget the Dragon King Chamber of Commerce; given enough time, a Second Circle Wizard could level the entire Freedom Port without any issue.
The strength of a Second Order Creature, even if not equal to that of a Second Circle Wizard, shouldn’t be this weak.
Strange!
Although there were many uncertainties, it was indeed a Second Order Creature. The next step was to analyze its attributes.
A quill with an endless supply of ink flew into mid-air, scribbling and sketching on parchment, recording data.
Water Element Bloodline!
Gravity Series traits!
Hmm... there’s also a trace of Nightmare Series Bloodline...
Shadow Series!
Carl’s eyes flickered.
A creature with so many different Bloodline traits... I feel like I’ve read about something like this somewhere.
He closed his eyes. A multitude of knowledge flashed through his mind, especially certain records from Adolf’s collection of books, which gradually became clear.
Abyssal Series!
A Second Order Creature of the Abyssal Series!
* * *
Space rippled like the surface of water as a figure stepped out, quickly scanning the surroundings.
This was a plain in front of Lym Canyon.
The ground was cracked, with sparse vegetation.
Many bodies were scattered across the ground.
The stench of decay filled the air. Many insects buzzed around the corpses, and carrion birds and beasts occasionally landed.
What caught the eye was the aftermath of a great battle.
No one had tended to the bodies. All had become a feast for the carrion creatures.
A withered, once towering tree stood starkly in this desolate land, as if narrating a tale of desolation.
Ahead, the fortress at the entrance of Lym Canyon had collapsed, countless tons of rubble sealing the canyon entrance completely.
Behind, Freedom Port was still shrouded in thick fog. If one looked closely, they could see some merfolk moving around the perimeter.
Nearly a month had passed since Carl last left.
"CAW!"
Strange calls echoed from above as several birds circled high in the sky, occasionally flapping their wings to duck into the low-lying clouds.
Carl loosened his tight grip on the sword hilt and stepped towards Lym Canyon.
The rubble blocking the entrance was no obstacle for a Great Knight who could traverse mountains. In less than half a day, he reached the other side of the canyon.
After journeying for some time, a Human Clan encampment came into sight.
His arrival was quickly noticed by scouts with Eagle-Eye Dharma Seals. Before he even got close, someone came out to greet him.
"Mr. Karl!"
"Carl!"
Susan and Conni waved from a distance.
"Carl!"
Susan approached, examining Carl from head to toe, her eyes full of surprise. "You’re unharmed! It’s really... so good!"
That day, Carl had used a Secret Skill to transform into a giant and charge into the merfolk horde, buying time for the others to escape.
After that, he had not been seen again.
Everyone had assumed Carl perished, as not even a Great Knight could have survived such a situation.
Unexpectedly... he was still alive!
"Mr. Karl."
Conni exclaimed in amazement, "I thought I would never see you again. When they said it was you, I could hardly believe it."
"It was sheer luck," Carl said with a smile. "I’ve mastered a Martial Art that can conceal my aura; that’s how I survived. However, I was injured, so I couldn’t return until now."
"It’s good that you’re fine, really good." Susan nodded repeatedly. "Let’s go! We’ll see the others first. You don’t know, Ayala cried for days and still hasn’t recovered. She’ll be overjoyed to learn you’ve returned."
"Alright." Carl walked on. "How are the others?"
"The others..." Susan’s expression darkened. "The Lady died. Elder Crow used a Forbidden Technique, Burning his life force, and probably won’t last much longer."
"Audis died too."
"Lula has changed a lot..."
Each familiar name represented a familiar face now lost, making Carl sigh helplessly.
"The Seagod Society also suffered heavy losses," Conni added.
