CHAPTER 363: 144 VEIN (PLEASE FAVORITE)
"Flame Flowers, Blaze Stones, and now several tubes of fire salamander blood sold in the market. That person must have discovered an unknown ore deposit."
Lance’s eyes flickered as he moved along the narrow alleyway.
An ore deposit... And a Fire Attribute one at that! If it comes into my possession, I won’t have to worry about resources for advancing to a Wizard.
Hmph! Once I become a Wizard and return, I’m going to make those who laughed at me pay. I, Lance, am not one to be trifled with!
Muttering under his breath, his thoughts churning, he gradually left the Leipzig Market behind and leaped into the dark, dense woods.
The blazing sun had already set, and the moonlight was still hazy. The dense branches blocked the faint light, obscuring everything.
Born into a prominent family, Lance was somewhat arrogant but not naïve; he possessed the necessary caution.
He drew his Magic Wand from his waist and lightly tapped his forehead.
Zero-Circle Magic—Eye of Eros!
Tiny flames appeared in the depths of his eyes. Complex Magic Circuits transformed the structure of his eyeballs for the duration of the Zero-Circle Magic. This allowed him to see clearly in the pitch-dark night, even granting him farsight and the ability to see through objects.
Foolish natives! You have no idea what kind of foundation the Six Rings Tower possesses. Its outstanding Wizard Apprentices can even kill Official Wizards.
With a slight smile, his gaze shifted. The residual life signatures on the ground reflected in his eyes as he continued to track deeper into the wilderness.
He waved his Magic Wand again.
Zero-Circle Magic—Blessing of the Night Elf!
As the Zero-Circle Magic was cast, a black shadow materialized out of thin air, pounced on him, and instantly merged into his body. This Zero-Circle Magic enhanced Lance’s movement speed, making his footsteps nearly silent and heightening his senses in the darkness.
In terms of heritage, Lance, born into a legendary Wizard Family, far surpassed the ’natives’ of the Magic Forest, as well as most disciples of the Tower. Each of the Zero-Circle Magic spells he practiced was quite exceptional.
Now... where are you?
With a low chuckle, Lance leaped forward, like a shadow flitting through the darkness, weaving through the forest.
"Hmm?" he grunted, puzzled.
Lance turned and came upon a large tree. The sight of a corpse by its roots made his expression darken.
Useless trash!
He recognized the body. It was one of the men he’d hired a few days ago to investigate the target, someone reputed for their astonishing tracking and stealth. Unexpectedly, just after they had discovered something, and before he could order them to act, they had died here.
"Are you looking for me?"
Suddenly, a cold voice echoed from behind him.
Lance’s eyes narrowed, a hint of fear surfacing as his body instinctively lunged forward.
HISS...
The faint sound of something cutting through the air lingered by his ear. Fierce Battle Aura wove into a net, and he was the fish trapped within it.
Damn it! A Great Knight!
A Great Knight wasn’t inherently terrifying, but for a Wizard Apprentice, being attacked at close range by one was undoubtedly a nightmare.
Lance clenched his teeth. Flames suddenly enveloped his body, and then he erupted.
Zero-Circle Magic—Flame Burst!
BOOM!
The explosion of flames dispersed the fierce Battle Aura that enveloped the area. A Fire Line shot out, breaking through the encirclement and landing a dozen meters away, revealing Lance’s figure.
"It’s you?"
A Big Man, wrapped tightly in a black robe and holding a Longsword, stood where Lance had previously been.
The Big Man looked at Lance, his voice cold and tinged with disdain, "I remember you, the man from the pharmacy. So, even the so-called Six Rings Tower covets others’ possessions?"
"Hmph!" Lance’s face turned livid. "Where did you get the Flame Flower and the Fire Lizard? Tell me honestly, and I might spare your life."
"Spare me?" The Big Man chuckled lowly. "Just you?"
Witchcraft Trap—Bloodthirsty Poison Vine!
Suddenly, the ground under Lance trembled, and dozens of spiky vines shot out like arrows, instantly binding him tightly.
A Witchcraft Trap was set here in advance!
At the same time, the Big Man charged forward, Longsword in hand. The whistling Battle Aura was terrifying, striking fear deep into Lance’s heart as it reflected in his eyes, pushing his dread to its absolute peak.
I’m going to die!
BANG!
BOOM...
Bursts of flame erupted one after another, lightning seeming to flash within.
First Order Seal—Plasma Fireball.
As a member of a leading family in the Six Rings Tower, Lance naturally carried First Order Seals. Driven by terror, he instantly detonated this life-saving measure.
But in the next moment...
No! You’re... a Legendary!
Lance’s voice rose in terror, followed by a scream as an arm flew high into the air.
"Correct," the Big Man said, swinging his sword as he charged. "Too bad you realized it too late!"
"Hm?" Just as he was about to finish off Lance, the Big Man’s figure swayed, and his Longsword flashed rapidly to the side.
CLINK! CLANG! CLANG!
Several incoming Flying Arrows were deflected.
"Stop!" Shaxon, clad in a Six Rings Tower uniform, rapidly approached, shouting, "Release Lance and leave immediately! Do you have any idea of the consequences of offending the Six Rings Tower?"
"Hmph!" The Big Man’s voice was icy. "Killing one is the same as killing two. Are you saying only your Tower is allowed to act, and I’m not allowed to resist? If I kill you both, who would know it was me?"
His killing intent surged, and his grip on his Longsword tightened.
"You..." Shaxon’s expression changed, and he fiercely swung his Magic Wand.
Zero-Circle Magic—Dissipation Crystals!
More than a dozen rays of starlight materialized, shooting towards the Big Man like meteors streaking through the void.
