CHAPTER 381: 149 PROFANING THE ANCIENT BEAST (PLEASE COLLECT)_2
Hmm?
"Attack!" Boken suddenly waved his hand.
SWOOSH!
The earth beneath the gaunt figure’s feet suddenly exploded. A blurred shadow crossed the void, pouncing towards Carl.
"Hmph!" Yana snorted coldly, sword in hand as she charged forward.
Her Constitution value was not much different from Carl’s. Both had just broken through ten, reaching the First-order Middle Stage.
A Constitution of ten points and one of nine-point-something might seem similar, but the difference was clear in actual combat.
BANG!
The two rapidly colliding figures both retreated. Yana only stepped back twice before steadying herself, while the other was sent flying, its ragged clothes tearing apart in the turbulent energy.
Underneath the torn clothes was a being similar to a monkey. Its skin was withered and rough, like time-worn rock. Its sharp fingers had long ceased to be human-like, its white and gray hair was disheveled across its back, and its dark eyes filled with malicious killing intent.
Human?
It was not human at all!
But Yana felt a familiar aura from it, as if they were sisters connected by Bloodline.
"What have you done?" Yana’s eyes twitched. "What is it...?"
"What is it?" Boken sneered. "Don’t you feel it? The blood flowing in its body is the same as yours—the Blood of Desecration!"
"It..."
"Is your sister!"
"Nonsense!" Yana roared, her expression fierce. "What exactly have you done? Are you experimenting on babies?"
"Desecration!" Boken’s expression turned stern, and he spoke solemnly, "We stepped into darkness, descended into the Abyss, our bodies and hearts tarnished, all in pursuit of that fleeting light."
"Yana!"
"Intelligent Desecration Knights do not suit the needs of the Holy Hall. And these..." He gestured towards the creature. "They are your replacements. We call them Desecrated Ancient Beasts."
ROAR!
As soon as he finished speaking, the ’Desecrated Ancient Beast’ in the arena roared to the skies as if triggered. Its back muscles split open, and a pair of mucus-covered wings suddenly unfolded, stirring a gale.
SWOOSH!
With a light flap of its wings, it arrived right in front of Yana.
CLANG!
The two ’beings’ collided again. This time Yana still held the upper hand, but the Desecrated Ancient Beast, with its wings, didn’t lose balance. It twisted in mid-air and pounced again.
"Your strength has increased again," Boken narrowed his eyes. "However, for your batch of Desecration Knights, reaching this level of strength is almost hitting the limit."
"But for the Desecrated Ancient Beasts, it is just the beginning."
"Yana!" Watching the two figures battling back and forth in the arena, he continued in a slow voice, "You might not yet know that several elders of the Holy Hall have passed the order to destroy the first generation of Desecration Knights. All Desecration Knights born like you will be eradicated, and these beasts are the ones tasked with it."
"Second-generation Desecration Knights—Desecrated Ancient Beasts!"
"Within the Holy Hall, all the first-generation Desecration Knights have already been eradicated, including those geisha courtesans particularly favored by the elders."
"AAH!" Yana howled to the heavens, her eyes almost completely turning pitch black, anger nearly causing her to lose control of her body. "Boken!"
"You... you all deserve to die!"
BOOM!
A blast of furious energy suddenly sent the attacking Desecrated Ancient Beast flying. Yana spun and pounced towards Boken.
"Hmph!"
"Sinner!" Facing the charging Yana, Boken’s face showed no fear, only a revulsion that went deep into his bones. "Your eyes, your hair, your scent, even the very blood flowing within you—it’s all sin."
"You should never have existed in this world."
BANG!
The earth before him suddenly exploded. Two dark shadows shot skyward, colliding with the unsuspecting Yana.
Desecrated Ancient Beasts!
Moreover, each of these two Desecrated Ancient Beasts wielded a strange scimitar. They had concealed themselves and attacked suddenly, their blades plunging directly into Yana’s body.
Their ability to conceal their aura was exceptional; even Carl hadn’t detected them in advance.
"Yana!" Carl’s brow furrowed. Just as he was about to act, a sudden chill gripped his heart, and he threw himself sideways, flying several meters.
SWOOSH!
Three dark shadows crisscrossed past his previous position.
Desecrated Ancient Beasts!
There were actually six Desecrated Ancient Beasts on the field!
"Attack!" Boken took a step back, leaving the battlefield to the others. "Kill Yana, capture the Guardian!"
WHOOSH!
All six Desecrated Ancient Beasts erupted simultaneously. Three charged the injured Yana, while the other three reached for Carl.
They were incredibly fast. Even the simplest movements, when performed by them, became exceedingly deadly.
BANG!
One Desecrated Ancient Beast was sent flying backward.
Carl clenched his fist, Battle Aura solidifying around him. He casually parried the incoming attacks, his expression unchanged. "Don’t underestimate me. After all, I bear the title of Guardian of the Goddess."
Battle Skill—Chaotic Dance!
The sanctified Battle Aura, now tangible, transformed into a barrage of fist shadows that surged towards the Desecrated Ancient Beasts.
His First-order Middle Stage Cultivation was undeniably evident at this moment.
When it came to power, Yana was not Carl’s equal.
BANG!
BANG! BANG!
Three Desecrated Ancient Beasts were sent flying one after another. One of them suffered a fractured sternum, rendering it unable to recover quickly.
Breaking out of the encirclement, Carl pushed off the ground, about to rush to Yana’s aid, when a sudden chill pierced his heart.
Huh?
Danger!
The extreme sense of danger made his skin tighten instantly. A Seal, already in an activated state, appeared in his palm.
Although he was unsure of the danger’s origin, this warning signal pushed Carl’s survival instincts to their absolute limit.
He was so alarmed he almost disregarded everyone else on the field to retreat into the Divine Domain Fragment.
Behind him, the void suddenly darkened. A streak of black light abruptly materialized.
Blackness, by its nature, devours light and should not itself glow. Yet, this streak of black light seemed to defy all logic, blossoming with a faint, dark halo.
