CHAPTER 68: CHAPTER 68: ENTERING THE SEA

"Mentor, I’ve successfully borrowed the spaceship." Once the Third Ring Wizard left, Levan ran up to Spirit, handed over the Marking Demon Artifact, and said invitingly.

"Little Levan, truly impressive."

Spirit smiled as he took the Marking Demon Artifact, complimenting Levan, and then turned to the Red Dragon King and said, "Thank you, Lord Adams, for your assistance."

"No big deal." The Red Dragon King flapped his wings with an indifferent look.

However, secretly, he let out a sigh of relief, guessing that his previous mockery of Spirit was bygone.

This lad, when grown up, likely won’t come back to thrash him.

"Mentor, you should take that spaceship and go ahead first." Spirit smiled and then turned to Agular.

"Alright." Agular nodded, directly flew into the third level of the red spaceship, and drove it away.

He had said all that needed to be said, and how to proceed next, was up to Spirit; saying more wouldn’t carry much weight.

"Lord Adams, we should be off too." Spirit looked at the Red Dragon King, "If there’s a chance, I’ll come to see you again."

These words were, naturally, just casual talk.

Whether the Red Dragon King would still be alive six years later, Spirit wasn’t sure.

Because during the final battle between Yassen and the Dark Faith Mage, there was no sight of the Red Dragon King.

He actually harbored no ill feelings towards this Red Dragon King, so all he could do was hope it survived.

"Off you go." Adams waved his wings, lying a bit bored on the desert.

Spirit and Kateya took the lead to fly into the Black Cliff Spaceship.

"Goodbye, Uncle Adams." Levan waved to the Red Dragon King and followed up.

...

Six days later.

Spirit piloted the Black Cliff Spaceship and stopped in front of a vast ocean.

"Endless Sea..." Looking at the blue ocean, Spirit felt as if a huge weight had been lifted from his heart, feeling much more relaxed, "Four years of effort, I finally achieved the first goal."

Though his four-year journey seemed smooth, in reality, one wrong step could lead to a disaster from which there’d be no return.

Luckily, he made it through, without any major accidents.

"Time to go." Taking one last deep look at Murphy Continent, Spirit controlled the Black Cliff Spaceship and sailed into the sea.

Escaping Murphy Continent was just the first step, next he needed to ascend to a Second Ring Wizard within two years.

And promote the Adaptive Rock Barrier to the second ring, then merge it with two Second Ring Witchcrafts to create an indestructible barrier, changing his current high attack but low defense status.

He also needed to advance his Small Meteor Witchcraft and break its limits.

Once these goals are achieved, he’d truly have Third Ring combat strength, securing a place in the ground battlefield of the Abyssal Invasion.

And all of this required contribution points as support.

"I need to seize the time to accumulate more contribution points." As Spirit thought about it, he felt the weight on his heart return.

The opportunity given by Yassen was extremely rare, allowing him not to have to earn contribution points on the Abyssal battlefield with a Second Ring combat strength.

If such a good opportunity wasn’t seized, wouldn’t it be foolish?

"Ah-ah——"

After the spaceship entered the sea, it hadn’t gone far when Spirit suddenly discovered two large white sea birds, spanning tens of meters, appearing around the spaceship and calling loudly.

"You’re truly everywhere." Spirit shook his head with a laugh, "Too bad, marking these doesn’t count as contribution points."

These white sea birds were a peculiar species exclusive to the Endless Sea of the Wizard World, known as White Birds.

The strong ones could reach the Third Order of life level, while the weak ones didn’t even rank.

They usually gathered the Power of Perception to form Wind Blades to attack targets, yet even the strongest Third Order White Bird’s attack power merely assessed at 2.5 Rings in the Wizard System.

Their defense, however, was utterly lacking, where a casual attack with a Second Ring Witchcraft could take them down.

Their sole advantage was speed, with the Third Order White Birds reaching a speed of 3.7 Rings, far faster than the Black Cliff Spaceship’s 3.4 Rings.

And they were plentiful, widespread across the Endless Sea, where even Third Order White Birds were not uncommon, often hunting in groups.

Most importantly, these White Birds were extremely stubborn; once they locked onto a target, they would persistently chase and attack, as long as the difference between each other wasn’t too distinct.

The reason why Third Ring Wizards or Third Order spaceships couldn’t venture out to sea, half lay with these creatures.

Now, Spirit wasn’t in the mood to bother with these White Birds. With the Black Cliff Spaceship’s own defense, even if these White Birds were to die exhausted, they couldn’t leave a single scratch.

Once there were enough White Birds gathered, a single shot of Small Meteor Witchcraft would clear them.

"Whoo——"

The spaceship continued its straight flight while Spirit activated the Perception Module in the Small Meteor Witchcraft, unleashing the Power of Perception, carefully searching for potential Third Order Sea Beast groups or Fourth Order Sea Beasts in the ocean.

With his Spiritual Perception stretching for two hundred and twenty-eight miles, he could probe all the way in the Endless Sea near the continent without an issue.

Behind the spaceship, the two White Birds that had been closely following turned into three, flapping their wings, occasionally launching Wind Blades at the spaceship.

"Puff puff puff——"

These wind blades, upon hitting the spaceship, did nothing more than emit a few soft puffs without leaving any traces.

And as time went on, more White Birds were heading this way.

"Oh, there’s a Second Order sea fish."

Spirit’s Power of Perception in the ocean suddenly sensed an oddly shaped, powerful sea fish swimming around searching for food, thus immediately halting the spaceship.

As long as he found a Second Order sea fish and startled it into fleeing, there was a chance to locate its group.

If the proportion of Third Order beings within this sea fish group exceeded 5%, it would be considered a Third Order group.

He only needed to apply a collective mark with the Marking Demon Artifact to the sea fish’s group to complete a Third Order mission.

"The depth of this sea makes it unsuitable for Small Meteor Witchcraft to disturb it." Spirit mused, "Better to use the 2.0 Ring Magma Eruption Technique."

Considering that the sea fish might have limited defense, he reduced the Magma Eruption Witchcraft to 2.0 Rings.

This way, it shouldn’t kill the sea fish and would be enough for it to flee in panic.

After adjusting the power, he subtly moved his Spiritual Power, directly triggering a portion of the Small Meteor Witchcraft Model in his Sea of Consciousness.

The Lava Eruption Witchcraft, following the trajectory of Spatial Positioning, directly coalesced and formed below the sea fish.

"Gurgle gurgle——puff——"

At a hundred and thirty miles under the sea, a ten-mile radius undersea lava instantly erupted beneath the Second Order sea fish, scalding it into a frantic struggle.

Yet, before it could struggle much, it had already been boiled with its belly up, entirely scorched.

Could it be...dead?

"So fragile, is it?" Spirit twitched the corner of his mouth, "A Second Order life form, yet it couldn’t withstand even a single 2.0 Ring Magma Eruption?"

[Absorbed a large amount of elements, energy points +852]

And at this moment, a long-lost prompt appeared within Spirit’s vision.

"These energy points, hardly enough to feed a mosquito," Spirit directly shut the prompt off.

Unlike killing a Wizard Apprentice, killing natural life carriers of Elemental Energy indeed could earn some energy points.

But in his current view, it was just too little.

Once he located a Third Order sea fish group, he wouldn’t need to lift a finger, immediately enhancing 200,000 Contribution Points.

In conversion, that would equate to 2,000,000 energy points.

"Let’s find the next one." Spirit started the spaceship again, directly bumping into several White Birds as he continued exploring the Endless Sea.

At this time, the number of White Birds gathered around the spaceship was just over twenty, not yet time for cleaning.

Shortly after restarting his search, he suddenly felt a tremor in the communication board from the mainland stored in his Space Ring.

"What’s going on? I’ve only added Speaker Yassen as a contact, right?" Spirit hurriedly took out the communication board to have a look.

What met his eyes weren’t messages from Speaker Yassen, but a leaderboard.

There was a line of notice above the leaderboard:

First Place: Marlot Will

Third Order Sea Races Found: 5

Second Place: Yuo Shiteh

Third Order Sea Races Found: 3

...

Fifth Place: Lava Mouka

Third Order Sea Races Found: 1

"Wow, there’s even a leaderboard." Spirit thought to himself, "This should be the Wizard Alliance’s rehearsal for the Abyssal War, War Divine Artifact..."

He didn’t linger on it, directly tossed the communication board back into the Space Ring, and focused on searching for sea fish.

His sensory range was still lesser than those Third Ring Wizards, so he could only wander in the Shallow Sea Area; it was normal for the efficiency to be low.

Once he achieves the Second Ring, promoting the Small Meteor Witchcraft, he would surely surpass them in one go.
