CHAPTER 677: CHAPTER 3 CONTINENT 1 BEAUTY

After Gars’s body had been carried away, Solomon turned to the Elf Queen.

"You truly surprised me, madam, achieving what many could not, killing the former Emperor of the Empire, fulfilling your revenge, and also doing us a favor."

"Although we are confident in conquering this continent no matter who the opponent is, a young lion is always somewhat easier to deal with than an older one."

"I did not kill my husband for revenge," Heloise said. "It was simply so that my tribe could continue to survive."

"I understand your choice," Solomon nodded slightly, "everything I do is also for my tribe. Now you are free, you can return to your homeland, your father misses you very much."

"Is that so?" the Elf Queen looked towards the south, "but I have left that forest for too long, I can hardly even remember my father’s face."

She withdrew her gaze and looked at Solomon again, "Do you still lack women?"

"You are as beautiful as the rumors say, no, even more beautiful, but I dare not let someone who could kill her own husband sleep by my side."

"I dare!"

A voice came from above Solomon’s head, followed by a strapping man with a pair of yellow-brown wings adorned with white feathers descending from the sky.

He boldly appraised Heloise with his chestnut eyes, "Are you the most beautiful woman on this continent?"

"Who are you?"

"I am Shajia of the Golden Eagle Tribe," the newcomer said. "My father is the leader of all the Wing Tribe, so by your terms here, I am also a prince, a perfect match for you."

"I am an Empress, by our terms here, I should be your mother," Heloise said. "Besides, I have no interest in boys who have not yet grown up."

"I am no boy," a flash of indignation passed through Shajia’s eyes. "I have killed many imperial people, you better watch your words, even your father wouldn’t dare speak to me in such a manner."

Solomon interjected to ease the tension, "All right, there’s no need to argue over such matters," then he said to the Elf Queen, "You may leave now, madam."

"I still have a few maids and servants..."

"You may take them all with you when you go," Solomon said. "I have already instructed my men to allow you and your people to pass."

Heloise nodded, turned around, and silently walked back into the mist.

Just as silently as when she had arrived.

Shajia watched the Elf Queen’s retreating figure, lost in thought, until Solomon spoke and brought his attention back.

"What are you here for?"

"Oh. We’ve already taken the Royal Capital, and I was wondering about your next plan, whether we are going to attack the western realm?" Shajia said casually.

"No, our next target is White River City, we’re leaving tonight, and by dawn, we can launch an attack, bring the White Queen and the Storm Monarch, leave the Red Grim Reaper to deter the nobles in the city.

"As long as the one hundred thousand Imperial Army there is crushed, no one will be able to stop us from ruling this continent."

"Then we will attack the western realm?" Shajia continued to ask.

"We need to consolidate our victory first," Solomon shook his head. "Lion Heart Castle and Crab’s Corner are different, they hold significant importance to the Red Lion Empire, now that we’ve taken it, we absolutely cannot let the imperial people take it back, otherwise, it would stir up their will to resist."

"This time we must be steady and secure, first subjugating the nearby lords and then compelling those people to besiege and plunder for us. Every child of the Sky Mother is precious. We should avoid unnecessary losses as much as possible," he said.

"But that Lady named Ireya has already killed three members of the Wing Tribe, including Moen, and she has also killed a dragon. Solomon, don’t you plan to seek revenge for them?"

Shajia called his name, his tone lacking much respect for Solomon.

Solomon was not angry. He simply stated, "Your father appointed me as the commander of the expeditionary army. I need to be responsible for the warfare first, not personal grievances."

"You’ve been here for only a few days and you’ve already picked up the bad habits of the Land Species," Shajia sneered. "You even dare not accept that foolish Emperor’s challenge. I can no longer see the bravery in you that once made you the first warrior of the White Head Tribe."

"Say whatever you like," Solomon said. "I won’t be sending troops to attack the west for now. The threat posed by that Lady named Ireya is even less than that from the Monteverde family in the north.

"They still hold the legitimate Imperial bloodline. With Gars’s death, his brother Allister’s name will become even more influential among the imperial nobility."

"Moen, Gabriel, Jacob, and the vengeance for the loss of a dragon will be sought, but not now. Tomorrow, we attack White River City, and I want you to take the lead," Solomon ordered.

Though somewhat reluctant, Shajia could not openly defy the commander’s orders and simply responded, "I will."

Meanwhile, after Queen Heloise returned to her residence, she had her maid briefly organize some gold and jewelry.

When the carriage arrived at her door, the Elf Queen boarded it with her maid.

To her surprise, there were two other passengers inside.

Yet, Heloise did not seem surprised at all; she sat down opposite them as if she did not see the pair.

The younger passenger, only eight or nine years old, exclaimed with joy, "Queen Heloise, you are unharmed, that’s wonderful!"

The other passenger, who resembled her mother, looked at Heloise with a wary eye.

Heloise, unfazed, took out a pair of pearl earrings from her bosom and handed them to the girl.

The girl was eager for the earrings but glanced at her mother first. Only after her mother nodded did she accept them.

The carriage then headed out of the city, carrying an air of somberness inside.

Neither Heloise nor the noblewoman spoke, and the little girl, along with the maid, dared not start a conversation.

The carriage reached the city gates without any obstacles.

The Wing Tribe soldiers guarding the gate had already received orders. Upon seeing Queen Heloise through the carriage window, they did not check further and allowed the carriage to pass.

Once outside the city, the little girl could not resist the urge to push open the window to take one last look at the city where she had lived for nearly a decade, but the Elf Queen stopped her.

"Don’t look."

"Why?" the little girl asked, puzzled.

Heloise sighed. The noblewoman opposite seemed to realize something, her face turning deathly pale the next moment.

She suddenly lunged toward Heloise like a madwoman, grabbing the Elf Queen’s hair, "It was you who killed him, wasn’t it? You know that he had started suspecting you killed his father!"
