Chapter 1201: Chapter 587: The Loser Is Wrong!

The night in Arlington, Virginia was suddenly drenched in a torrential downpour, the entire city seemed suspended in a misty haze.

In the renowned national cemetery…

The intersecting tombstones appeared particularly desolate in the rain.

A guard in a raincoat stood ramrod straight, his peripheral gaze constantly sweeping over a solitary figure not far away, standing like a tall pine before a sculpture, letting the rain fall upon him.

The sculpture was an American flag, with the inscription:

“Here lie the heroes of the Blade of Chaos and Order, may God bless their eternal rest, as they bless the United States!”

The base on the side was inscribed with a string of numbers 221210!

This represented the number of people buried here.

Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh…

Heavy footsteps sounded from behind as a man with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel approached, his eyelids twitching slightly, “Commander, we’re ready!”

The man remained silent for a moment, then slowly spoke:

“Wayne… if we start, there’s no turning back.”

The Lieutenant Colonel behind him darkened his expression, but then gritted his teeth, “Here lie William Howard Taft and John F. Kennedy, they wouldn’t want the American people to suffer like this. It’s the power brokers in The Pentagon; they wage wars, sell drugs, incite the populace, act recklessly. It’s them that have led democratic and free America down a misguided path!”

“We abide by the spirit of the Declaration of Independence, the will of the people, to defend the true essence of the nation!!!”

The man in front slowly turned and walked past the Lieutenant Colonel…

“Come! Join me in saving the United States!”

June 27th, 02:04 AM.

Stationed with the task of guarding Arlington National Cemetery, nicknamed “The Face of the U.S. Military,” over a thousand soldiers from the Army’s 3rd Infantry Regiment split into four groups.

The three Deputy Commanders led their men to arrest key members of the “Golden Knights.”

Meanwhile, Colonel Alvaro Perez, the Commander, led his troops towards The Pentagon!

On par with Japan’s February 26 Incident!

Deputy Commander Wayne and over 100 soldiers rushed towards the wealthy neighborhood along the Potomac River, he sat in the co-pilot seat, wearing a helmet, his gaze dark and stern.

The military vehicle sped through red lights without any intention of stopping.

At the entrance of the wealthy neighborhood stood a police booth, as the occupants were either rich or noble, the sound of the vehicle woke two policemen who hurriedly dressed and got out of bed. They had just opened the window when they were startled by the reflection of a human face on the glass.

Moments later, the booth door was violently smashed open, and soldiers holding M240 machine guns swept inside, immediately taking down the two officers in a pool of blood.

“Company A, control the entrance, the rest of you, charge inside!”

“Yes!”

Deputy Commander Wayne led over 20 men towards the home of Deputy Defense Minister John Yaosok, an Army General, and Commander of the Third Army during the early days of the Gulf War. He had traveled to Germany for treatment of a sudden illness in February 1991 and retired after the war, but after Norman Schwartzkopf took over, he “miraculously recovered,” returning from Germany to be appointed as deputy responsible for training and personnel promotions.

At this hour…

He was already asleep.

When the soldiers broke in, Wayne’s hand groped for the light switch on the wall beside the door.

Suddenly, the door swung open!

Two Special Service Bureau operatives holding FN P90 submachine guns pulled the triggers without pause.

Ratatatatatatata…

Two Army soldiers were hit multiple times and fell dead.

A fierce firefight broke out…

But after all, there were more military personnel than enemies, strength backed by numbers in the field!

It didn’t take long before the two operatives were riddled with bullets.

“Charge upstairs!”

Wayne took the lead, rushing to the innermost bedroom, where as soon as he kicked open the door, he saw two women embracing each other, screaming and trembling in fear, looking at these “uninvited guests” with terror.

His gaze swept the room, “Where is Mr. Deputy Defense Minister?”

The two women clung tightly together, the older one’s eyes brimming with tears, while the younger one, visibly panicked, glanced toward a wardrobe.

This scene was noticed by Wayne, who cocked the gun. Amidst the women’s cries and screams, he unloaded the clip into the wardrobe!

Upon opening it, out fell a quilt stuffed with cotton.

No one was inside!

Narrowing his eyes, Wayne engaged the gun’s safety, his expression relaxed, “Very sorry, ladies, hope you have a pleasant night, let’s go!”

He said this and led his men away. Only after hearing the descending footsteps, the two hurriedly lifted the bed. It turned out there was a cavity under the mattress, where Deputy Defense Minister John Yaosok was lying, face flushed from holding his breath.

The two women hastily pulled him up, patting him vigorously on the shoulder.

“Papa!” the younger woman had tears welling in her eyes.

“So… hiding here?”

A soft voice came from the door, causing all three to snap their heads around. They saw Wayne standing there, eyes gleaming like a cat spotting a rat. He cocked the gun again, aiming it at John Yaosok!

“No! Please don’t shoot, don’t shoot!” John Yaosok’s wife cried out.

His daughter spread her arms wide, “If you’re going to kill, kill me! Don’t kill my father!”

Wayne observed the girl’s earnest gaze, paused for a moment, and nodded slightly. Just as John Yaosok and his family were about to breathe a sigh of relief, they heard him say, “Then you can all have a nice family reunion, don’t get separated.”

Bang—

He shot John Yaosok in the chest, and the soldier next to him swept through with a light machine gun!

The room was left in shambles…

Blood spattered on the walls, creating an unsettling sight.

“Let’s go!” Wayne glanced back, waved his hand, “To the next house downstairs!”

This wealthy neighborhood housed quite a few high-ranking officials from The Pentagon.
