World-saving Plan: The Only Savior
Chapter 729 - 532: The Duties of the Spokesperson (Two-in-One) _2
CHAPTER 729: CHAPTER 532: THE DUTIES OF THE SPOKESPERSON (TWO-IN-ONE) _2
Beelu, although he had been at the Hurricane Bureau for almost a month, had only ever heard about this place and didn’t have the privilege to enter.
Now, perhaps because he had "awakened" a Transcendent ability, or maybe because he had already seen what was inside using the Spirit Detection Technique, Lune no longer kept it a secret and directly brought him over.
The interior space of the Containment Department was vast, with all surrounding walls built from materials of high strength.
Moreover, each wall was flanked by steel plates at least ten centimeters thick on both sides, fortified to the extreme.
The two of them walked along as if they were on a tour.
Beelu’s gaze wandered left and right, his face occasionally revealing a look of surprise.
But next to him, the walls were bare, almost void of anything, save for a similarly heavy steel door and a series of numbers representing codes.
Lune observed his expressions all the way.
Seeing him like this, Lune’s speculation was further confirmed; he could indeed see through the walls!
"Beelu, now that you’re here, can you describe what you see inside?"
Lune, eager to test him further, led Beelu to a steel door labeled "9" and stopped.
Beelu’s eyes shone with a silvery light as he simply observed what was inside through the wall and said:
"I see a monster inside, about three meters tall, with slender limbs like steel spikes...its body somewhat resembles a human... It seems to know I’m watching it and is walking towards us..."
Listening to Beelu’s description, Lune felt increasingly pleased.
He was also observing the inside situation through a nearby monitor.
However, on this monitor, the containment room appeared completely empty, but he was very satisfied with Beelu’s description.
The reason was simple: the monster inside possessed the ability to become invisible, undetectable by human eyes, cameras, thermal imagers, or any other machine.
But Beelu’s newly awakened ability could actually see the monster through the wall, which excited Lune immensely.
With such an ability, the Bureau now had a human-shaped super radar, which would provide a powerful security guarantee for the Hurricane Team’s future operations.
"Yes, what you described is correct. Number 9 is a humanoid monster; its limbs can easily pierce through aluminum-alloy car doors and it can also grow its body size and limb strength through consumption..."
Lune approached the monitor, now able to see a somewhat blurry figure.
The monster was attacking the door as if trying to escape, and this action revealed a transparent outline of its form.
"When we captured it originally, because we couldn’t pinpoint its position, it repeatedly ambushed us. The organization lost five elite warriors before finally capturing it."
Lune looked at the screen, reminiscing about the information on this monster.
"However, this monster possesses a strong Recovery Ability. Not long after being confined in this room, its bodily injuries recovered, and even severed limbs regrew..."
Next to him, Beelu listened intently, indeed familiar with the creature in containment room number 9.
He had recognized the monster from a manual during intensive training.
According to the Star Alliance’s designation, this creature should be called the "Bone-eating Demon," and Beelu had seen its invisibility ability in those documents as well.
But concerning the monster at hand, the information recorded by the Star Alliance was not as complete as that of the Hurricane Bureau.
Through what Lune just said, he realized there were many gaps, things that the Star Alliance had not recorded.
Beelu knew his work had come.
As a Spokesperson, when leading people from the Hurricane Bureau onto the correct path of battling Alien Species, he also needed to feedback some missing data to the organization, achieving data complementarity.
"Director, may I see the specific data on these monsters?"
Beelu made his request directly.
Lune didn’t feel anything was amiss; on the contrary, he nodded approvingly and said,
"That’s good. Since you’re going to face these creatures eventually, it’s necessary for you to get acquainted with them early on..."
"Mm, I’ll have Toby give you the material on these monsters later. It contains detailed data on them. You must memorize it carefully, as it may be of great help to you in battle later on."
"Thank you, Director!"
Beelu appeared delighted, and then he continued to tour the underground Containment Department with Lune for two more rounds.
An hour later, they returned to the office above ground.
By then, the silver glow in Beelu’s eyes had disappeared, and he had reverted to his original appearance.
"Director, there’s something I’m not sure how to say, but I had a strong intuition about it after encountering those monsters just now."
Beelu recalled the information he had learned during specialized training at the Star Alliance, preparing to pass it on to the obliviously operating Hurricane Bureau.
"Oh? What intuition?"
Interest piqued once more, Lune inquired.
Frowning and hesitating for quite some time, Beelu finally said,
"It’s like this, when I was underground just now, thanks to that special perception, I could see the monsters in those containment cells, and I had this feeling..."
"These creatures don’t seem as simple as they appear on the surface. Their strength might not be high at the moment, but it seems they are growing in a steady and slow manner. If this continues for a long time, I fear..."
Beelu paused here, and Lune quickly grasped the implication after a brief contemplation.
"You mean they’re gradually getting stronger? They’re evolving?"
Upon hearing this, Beelu nodded, though he felt some disdain internally.
What a joke, even the powerful organization behind him that could create Transcendents didn’t dare to contain these monsters, and your Hurricane Bureau, without even a single person with superpowers, dares to raise them?
Beelu knew that among these Alien Species, many possessed the ability to evolve on their own.
Especially those from the Demon Series, even if you don’t feed them anything, they won’t starve to death, and they can still evolve over time.
From what he knew, there were at least five types able to do this, such as Little Refining Demon, Corpse Demon, and so on.
Therefore, even the Star Alliance had not established a Containment Department to contain these monsters; instead, they would kill them upon discovery to prevent uncontrollable situations.
Of course, that was just one aspect.
Another reason unknown to Beelu was that Zhang Xiaoman needed to kill these Alien Species to absorb points and enhance his strength.
Lune, on the other hand, fell into a prolonged silence upon hearing Beelu’s aforementioned remarks.
His fingers tapped continuously on the desk as he began to consider the plausibility of what Beelu had said.
Of course, it wasn’t that he doubted Beelu would deceive him.
It’s just that the Containment Department was built with great effort and investment by the Hurricane Bureau.
And the capture of those monsters had come at a considerable cost.
Now, he couldn’t simply order the disbandment of the entire Containment Department based solely on Beelu’s words.
Seeing his expression, Beelu knew Lune was hesitating.
He promptly described his sense of threat in more detail, hoping to help Lune make up his mind.
This was part of his duty as a Spokesperson, to share some information about the Alien Species with the Hurricane Bureau, to avoid them suffering completely meaningless losses.
