Worldwide Class Change: An Invincible Swordsman
Chapter 27, Actually I am Still Very Pure_1
CHAPTER 27: CHAPTER 27, ACTUALLY I AM STILL VERY PURE_1
After a day, Jiang Chen had successfully reached Level 20. Dungeon experience truly was superior; it not only provided plenty of rewards but also granted an entire level.
The only pity was that the Underworld Altar had a refresh timer.
「Inside the tavern.」
Jiang Chen sat at the bar, drinking Bloody Marys, while many Heroes around him were discussing the Underworld Altar.
"Twilight Guild’s Shangguan Yunqiu and Shenlong Guild’s Li Yunxi cleared it."
"With two SS-grade Classes leading eighteen strong players, it was naturally easy for them to clear it. If they didn’t, no one else would stand a chance in the future."
"They spent ten hours—that’s incredibly fast."
"Hmph, ten hours? Don’t you know the news? There was a black-robed man who cleared the Underworld Altar in just half an hour."
"Half an hour? That’s absolutely impossible."
"Nothing’s impossible. My friend was right behind Shangguan Yunqiu. He witnessed a black-robed man clearing the Nightmare-level Underworld Altar in half an hour."
"It’s true. Shangguan Yunqiu originally planned to run through it twice, but after that black-robed man cleared it once, only one chance remained."
"Now the Shenlong and Twilight Guilds have released a guide. You need to collect six keys to get through the Underworld Altar, and the altar drops a set called the Underworld Set, which has very impressive Attributes."
"Who is this black-robed man? How could he pass the Underworld Altar in half an hour?"
"Rumor has it that the black-robed man was the first Hero to clear it, his identity hidden. The God’s Symbol is now in his possession."
"If only we could find him and snatch the Rune away."
"Stop joking. Unless you’re a First-stage class, we’d only die if we encountered him. To be able to clear the Nightmare-level Underworld Altar within half an hour, he must be a formidable player, likely an undisclosed SS Class."
Jiang Chen sipped his drink, listening to the discussions among the Heroes in the tavern.
He chuckled inwardly.
Clearing the Underworld Altar in ten hours with a team of twenty wasn’t that impressive, even if they were SS-grade Classes. Jiang Chen didn’t envy them.
With the system enhancement, any SS Class was trash before him.
Murong Yi entered the tavern and looked at Jiang Chen. "Handsome young man, I knew you’d be here drinking. Seems like you quite like the atmosphere."
Jiang Chen turned around and smiled. "To meet the beautiful Sister Murong is an honor for me. Barkeep, two Bloody Marys, please."
Murong Yi’s lips curved into a smile.
This kid was becoming more and more presumptuous. He used to be a shy young boy, and now he’s turned into a flirting young man—the transformation was too rapid.
The Tavern Keeper also laughed, preparing the drinks and placing them in front of them. He commented, "Look at this speed of change, isn’t it surprising?"
Murong Yi nodded. "Truly surprising. I really regret bringing him to the tavern."
"No, he’s just taken a step forward a bit early," the Tavern Keeper said.
Jiang Chen chuckled. "Actually, it’s only when I’ve had too much to drink that I’m like this. I’m still very pure at heart."
The two burst out laughing as if they’d heard the world’s biggest joke—like an old, seasoned armed escort claiming to be pure.
Murong Yi teased, "The words ’pure and innocent’ don’t suit you anymore, young rascal."
Murong Yi asked, "Jiang Chen, which middle school do you attend?"
"Yan City First Middle School."
Murong Yi looked surprised. "You’re a student in Yan City too?"
"Yes? Why do you ask?"
"Do you know Murong Xue?"
Jiang Chen was taken aback. Murong Xue, Murong Yi... good heavens, so you two are sisters! No wonder you’re both so beautiful.
"I know her; we’re in the same class."
Murong Yi looked surprised. "So you’re her classmate! That’s great. She’s coming to challenge the Underworld Altar tomorrow. You must help her clear it; I believe you have the strength to do so."
Jiang Chen shook his head. "I’m afraid I won’t be of much help."
"What? You wouldn’t even help with this small favor?"
"You misunderstand. I’m already Level 20, so I can’t enter the Underworld Altar."
Murong Yi’s eyes widened in disbelief, and the Tavern Keeper stared, equally dumbfounded. At this moment, both were utterly shocked.
Jiang Chen is already Level 20? What kind of joke is this? How could this guy level up so fast? It has only been a few days since their awakening, and he’s already Level 20? Even Li Yunxi, an SS-grade Class, is only Level 16, and Shangguan Yunqiu is just Level 17!
Their mouths fell open, their expressions a mixture of disbelief and astonishment.
Murong Yi smiled. "Well, I’ll be darned. So you’re this powerful. What exactly is your class? A Swordsman couldn’t possibly level up so quickly. I underestimated you."
Could it be that Jiang Chen was the black-robed man who cleared the Underworld Altar in half an hour today? He *is* wearing a black robe!
The Tavern Keeper said, "Congratulations on reaching Level 20."
"Thank you."
"What path will you take for your First-stage advancement?"
You can undergo your First-stage advancement after reaching Level 50.
The First-stage advancement options are Swordsman Beast or Human Swordsman.
The Swordsman Beast wields Dual Blades and wears Armor, focusing on Offensive Power, similar to warriors. However, a Swordsman’s Offensive Power is ultimately inferior to that of a Beast Tribe’s Warrior. The Human Swordsman, on the other hand, uses a Single Sword and takes the Agility route; its Offensive Power isn’t that impressive, but its speed is.
The Beast Tribe’s Warrior path alters one’s human appearance. Offensive Power isn’t the most important thing; looking cool is. Who the hell wants to turn into a beastman anyway?
Jiang Chen thought for a moment and answered, "Human Swordsman, I think!"
"Then you need to be careful," the Tavern Keeper warned. "It’s not so easy being a Human Swordsman; very few choose that path. Most go for the Swordsman Beast."
"Careful of what?"
"Beware of the Divine Gods."
Jiang Chen looked puzzled. "What do you mean?"
"The Divine Envoy for the First-stage advancement is a woman," the Tavern Keeper explained. "Since you’re so handsome, be careful she doesn’t try to seduce you."
Murong Yi laughed. "That could be a good thing. You might get an easy task by sleeping with her, or she may even waive your task altogether."
Jiang Chen scoffed. "Do I look like the type to sell my looks? The type to climb ranks with my body? You underestimate me."
The two exchanged a smile.
A fine young man.
But they were dumbfounded by Jiang Chen’s next sentence.
Jiang Chen cleared his throat. "Speaking of which, is this Divine Gods pretty?"
Kid, you dropped your moral integrity there...
"If she’s lonely, feeling empty, or cold, perhaps I could consider it. After all, as a man, it’s quite normal to show a little concern for the Divine Gods."
Murong Yi rolled her eyes. "Get lost..."
The Tavern Keeper gave a thumbs-up. "She’s very beautiful."
"Then it’s worth considering."
Murong Yi said sternly, "That’s enough, both of you! Speaking ill of the Divine Gods here is a grave offense. Shut your mouths!"
Three hundred years ago, rifts appeared, and countless monsters trampled human cities; the Human Race faced a crisis. In that era, humans were completely unable to contend with those monsters; no firearms could harm them.
Two hundred years ago, the will of the world descended. The Human Race awakened their classes, and powerful classes were born, enabling them to resist Demonic Beings and monsters. It was also at that time that the God’s Temple emerged, assisting humans in their class advancements.
After advancing their class, individuals became much stronger, and their classes more potent.
God would search among the Human Race for successors, known as Divine Envoys, who would assist humans in advancing their class through quests.
These advancement quests also varied in difficulty—Easy, Hard, Dangerous, Nightmare-level, and Hell-level difficulty—with the Divine Envoys holding the decision-making power.
The advancement process was also quite dangerous, and most Heroes hoped to receive an Easy quest to successfully complete their advancement.
