Wrong Love, Final Goodbye: She'll Never Look Back
Chapter 184: Divorce Vincent Hawthorne and Marry Me
CHAPTER 184: CHAPTER 184: DIVORCE VINCENT HAWTHORNE AND MARRY ME
Tanya sneered sarcastically.
She was only a year older than Yvonne Hawthorne.
"Mom, get up. Don’t be afraid of this bitch! She wouldn’t dare kill me! This is the Hawthorne Family, how can we let a Sinclair act so arrogantly!" Yvonne’s face twisted with madness as she glared at Tanya, wishing she could tear her apart.
"Tanya, my brother and father adore me the most. Just you wait, if you dare hurt me, you’ll pay for it later!"
Tanya looked at Yvonne’s defiant face and suddenly felt she was both hateful and pitiful.
"Let her go," Tanya said airily.
The two bodyguards exchanged glances, somewhat hesitant.
"Ms. Sinclair..."
"She can’t hurt me right under your noses."
Only then did the two bodyguards release her.
Freed, Yvonne charged at Tanya like a madwoman, but Tanya sidestepped, grabbing Yvonne by the hair, and dragged her forcefully to the nearby man-made lake.
Tanya held Yvonne’s head, pressing her face into the cold, fishy water.
"Yvonne!" Mother Hawthorne screamed, trying to rush forward, but the bodyguards stopped her.
When Yvonne was about to suffocate, Tanya pulled her out again.
"Tanya Sinclair, you bitch... ah!"
Before she could finish, her head was pushed back underwater, gulping down mouthfuls.
This repeated several times until Yvonne was finally broken. As she was lifted from the water again, she cried and begged, "Please... let me go..."
Tanya yanked her hair, pulling her face close.
Yvonne’s lips had turned completely white, her previous insanity and arrogance gone.
"Yvonne, do you really think the Hawthorne Family cares so much about you?" Tanya broke through the superficial facade, "The education you and Vincent received was completely different. They expect Vincent to learn all the abilities of a competitive heir. Even if he doesn’t take over the conglomerate later, Theodore still has companies left for him. But you?"
"You were spoiled from a young age, indulged to do whatever you pleased. Do you think that’s for your own good? To the Hawthorne Family, your only value as a daughter is an advantageous marriage, to fetch a good price."
"Do you know why, even if you’re innocent, nothing actually happened, Theodore still wants to ship you off?" Tanya slowly leaned into Yvonne’s pale, trembling face, explaining, "Because your purity doesn’t matter. What matters is whether your buyer, your intended, believes in your purity."
She tightened her grip on Yvonne’s hair, leaning into her ear, whispering like a devil, "Your life wasn’t destroyed by me, it’s because the Hawthorne Family raised you to be useless."
Yvonne’s lips trembled, and after a long moment, she hoarsely screamed, "You’re lying... they love me the most, I’m the most cherished at Hawthorne!"
Tanya let out a cold laugh, shoving Yvonne away, and turned to leave.
She was well aware that if her daughter Joy stayed with the Hawthorne Family, she’d eventually become another Yvonne... Though Caden is a genius, he’s still too young, and his environment and the examples set by people around him are just as important.
That’s why she was so determined to get custody!
Leaving The Hawthorne Gardens, Tanya received a call from Silas Hawthorne on her way home.
"Sister-in-law, you’re quite impressive." Silas drawled with a lazy chuckle on the other end, "Jonah, that asshole, just tried to investigate me."
Tanya had deliberately made Silas slip up, letting Rhys Lucas overhear about selling her shares, so it would reach Vincent’s ears.
She understood Vincent too well.
His suspicious nature meant that what she said earlier wasn’t enough to make him drop his guard.
He would certainly investigate.
But once he did, he would completely relax.
Tanya intended to deliver a fatal blow when Vincent was entirely unsuspecting!
Killing with a white knife isn’t satisfying; the highest form of revenge, is to break the heart.
"The transfer agreement for the shares I’ve signed will be delivered to you before the shareholders meeting begins."
Silas laughed, "Sister-in-law, oops, I should call you Ms. Sinclair now. Tsk... how did I never realize you were so charming before?"
Tanya had no patience for his slick talk and was about to hang up.
"Tanya." Silas suddenly addressed her seriously.
Her finger paused slightly before hanging up, turning serious, "Is there something I missed?"
"Heh." Silas chuckled, "No, I just have a question for you."
Tanya: "?"
Silas asked with great interest, "After your divorce from Vincent, if you marry me, do you think he’d die of anger?"
Tanya cursed, "...Psychopath."
And hung up directly.
The Hawthorne Family, truly, not a single normal person there.
Tanya returned home, it was already close to eleven o’clock.
She took a quick shower, drying her hair, casually picked up her phone, and noticed several unread messages from Daisy Bell
Tanya opened them.
Daisy: [Bonnie, you divorced Vincent?!!]
Included were screenshots from Daisy, showing Vincent’s Weibo status changed to single.
And it even made the trending topics.
The Hawthorne Family was indeed in the spotlight lately, so it was normal for Vincent’s change to single to trend.
They probably also bought some publicity, pushing down Yvonne’s negative news.
Tanya typed a line with one hand.
Tanya: [Yes, tomorrow morning at nine, I’m going to the civil affairs bureau with Vincent Hawthorne to get divorced.]
As soon as these words were sent, Daisy Bell’s side immediately showed she was typing.
Then Tanya received a twenty-second voice message from Daisy Bell.
She was prepared, and when she pressed play, she held the phone a bit away.
Sure enough, Daisy Bell excitedly screamed in a high-pitched voice.
Daisy Bell: "Ahhhahaha, such great news. Today is such a damn great day hahaha! Bonnie, as soon as you get the divorce certificate, share it with me! You can pass it down as a family heirloom! Let Vincent Hawthorne’s scumbag reputation be known for generations!"
Tanya smiled.
The second message from Daisy Bell came in.
Daisy Bell: "Damn it, Cindy Lynn is active again!"
Daisy Bell had always used an alternate account, keeping a close eye on the affair between those two on Weibo. She initially planned to dig up some dirt to use as evidence for Tanya’s divorce case.
Now, it was purely for watching the bizarre world of human behavior.
Tanya followed the link sent by Daisy Bell and clicked into Cindy Lynn’s secondary Weibo account.
Cindy Lynn had posted a photo of two hands clasped together.
The larger hand at the bottom was clearly a man’s hand, with a wristwatch showing.
Status: [The right person will always be sent to you by the heavens, no matter the hardship they face.]
Tanya immediately recognized that it was Vincent Hawthorne’s hand.
He had indeed gone to the hospital again, to accompany Cindy Lynn.
But what really made Tanya zoom in on the photo was a chubby little hand unintentionally showing in the corner.
Tanya’s breath hitched slightly.
That hand was Joy’s... she was also accompanying Cindy Lynn.
Tanya closed her eyes, a wave of powerlessness surging in her chest.
She briefly wished Daisy Bell good night and then tentatively sent a message to Lawyer Shaw: [Lawyer Shaw, are you resting?]
The reply came instantly: [No, feel free to call if you need to talk.]
Tanya then dialed Zane Shaw’s phone number.
He picked up immediately.
"Ms. Sinclair."
Tanya told Zane Shaw about Vincent Hawthorne already signing the divorce papers, and also about their plan to finalize the divorce certificate at nine the next morning.
Tanya: "Lawyer Shaw, after I divorce Vincent Hawthorne, the next step is the custody battle for the two children."
Zane Shaw calmly assured her: "Rest assured, as long as Caden doesn’t show an unwavering preference for Vincent Hawthorne, I’m confident I can help you secure custody. As for Joy, she’s only five, such a young age can’t make decisions herself. Her wishes will merely be taken into account at the court’s discretion."
Tanya thought of Joy’s attachment to Cindy Lynn, her throat tightening.
If she forcibly took Joy’s custody, her daughter might end up hating her even more.
But even so, she couldn’t let the daughter she risked her life bringing into the world stay with her enemy!
Tanya steeled her heart, "Alright, then I’ll leave it in your capable hands, Lawyer Shaw."
"Ms. Sinclair, you’re too kind. It’s my duty. Oh, according to the divorce agreement, I’ll also be ensuring that half of Vincent Hawthorne’s assets are transferred under your name."
Tanya thought Zane Shaw was indirectly reminding her not to forget his legal fees.
"Lawyer Shaw, please send me an itemized bill for your fees, and I’ll transfer the amount to you promptly."
Zane Shaw chuckled dryly on the other end.
"Ms. Sinclair, don’t overthink it. I’m not urging for my fees. I’m sincerely happy for you, that you can divorce and escape the misery, I’m genuinely delighted!"
Zane Shaw was in his office while saying this, browsing for first-class tickets to The Maldives for the next month, his smile wider than the curved muzzle of an AK.
"Really, thank you so much, Lawyer Shaw, for being so dedicated to helping me."
"It’s my duty, you should rest early. I will personally accompany you to the civil affairs bureau tomorrow morning."
Tanya initially felt it was a bit troublesome for Zane Shaw, but on second thought, having a big-time lawyer present made her feel more secure.
"Okay, then I won’t be overly polite with you."
"It’s part of my job."
Zane Shaw said courteously, and once Tanya hung up, he brazenly dialed Declan Pierce’s number.
The phone rang for half a minute before it was answered.
The man’s voice was hoarse and edged with hostility, clearly having just been awoken from sleep.
"Zane Shaw, you better have a satisfying reason for waking me up..."
Zane Shaw adjusted his glasses on the bridge of his nose and slowly smiled, "It’s like this, Mr. Pierce. Ms. Sinclair and Vincent Hawthorne have signed the divorce agreement. Tomorrow morning at nine, they will finalize the divorce certificate. I will accompany them."
On the other end of the line, the man’s previously heavy breathing suddenly ceased.
Declan Pierce sat up from his bed, pressing his throbbing temples before speaking again, his voice even more hoarse and deep.
"Say it again."
Worried it was just a dream earlier.
Then, Zane Shaw’s crystal-clear voice drilled into his ear, word by word.
"Tomorrow morning at nine, Ms. Sinclair will meet Vincent Hawthorne at the civil affairs bureau to finalize the divorce certificate!"
